child. it happened in bay point outside an apartment complex on welden street. alex salvage has been on the scene since 4:30 this morning. you just spoke to a neighbor. >> good morning to you. one neighbor who heard the gun fire told me she was horrified who said the victim until this case was a child. the shooting happened on welden street, where we are this morn ing. deputies moved in here and taped off this area to begin the investigation. a sheriff spokesman confirmed a 12-year-old child was shot andoff air lifted to hospital in oakland. they are not giving us the condition of the young victim this morning. investigators not said what the circumstances of the shooting were, or if anybody is in custody in connection with what

happened. we did talk a short time ago with a woman who lives nearby and describes what she heard last night. >> the only thing i heard was more than 6 shots, and then lady screamed. the kid cried. and the man had a strong voice. >> we have put in several calls and sent e-mails to the sheriff's spokesman looking for more information on this shooting. we will certainly let you know when we hear back from him. 12-year-old child was shot on the street in bay point last night. we're live in bay point, alex savage, ktvu news. >> 7:05. stocksstocks are down sharply once again. following a roller coaster day on wall street yesterday.

the dow fell as much as 197 points. it's down 98. the fears of a slow down and disappointing corporate earnings caused it to drop and came back at the end of the day, and closed down 173 points. but it was still wall street's most turbulent day since 2011. they have not had a 10% correction in about three years. it's a bit overdue. financial advisers are warning investors not to panic. >> in the last three years, we have not seen this line. it's normal for a 10-14% decline to happen every year. we see that every year. >> overseas markets fell and fears europe could be heading for another recession. they are concerned about

and let them know about the situation. two schools in ohio are closed today while a third was disinfected overnight because the school personnel may have flown on that same frontier airlines plane as amber vinson. they were not on the same flight as the nurse but they did fly on the same plane. the schools have been cleaned out with bleach-based solutions.

around the neighborhood. 9 of these plastic figures have been recovered by the police. 2.5 feet tall were placed on sidewalks and in front of homes alerting drivers to slow down, kids are playing in the neighborhood. several homeowners reported that their safety figures disappeared. and then the stolen figures reappeared on the lawn of a office on st. augustine way. >> they woke up in the morning and saw these green men out in front of their house and were like laughing about it and then called us. and the gentlemen recovered the men. >> the price tag for each of these green men is about $50. investigators don't know who hash stealing it been -- has been stealing it but they think it's a prank. they could be prosecuted if they are caught. we have a couple in our neighborhood that tell us to

groper hit. we're live at the wal-mart off the boulevard. this is one of two stores where the groper targeted. police have the surveillance video and asking for the public 's help in finding him. he's 25-40 years old, and 6- 6'3" in height and brown hair, and light brown eyebrows. look at what he was wearing. he's wearing a black long steve dress shirt, red tie and dress shoes. because of that, he's employed at a retail store, perhaps hotel, or a restaurant. police say on monday, 7:45 at night, he inappropriately touched a 9-year-old girl at the wal-mart. that girl screamed as loud as she could and told her parents and store security. 15 minutes later, police got another report of a man doing the same thing at a target store a mile and a half from

here. the mother of the 6-year-old girl, whose daughter was victimized said her daughter remains traumatized and warning other parents . >> she told me the man just pinched my butt mommy. and i tried to go after him, but she was too scared and i saw him at the end of the aisle, and he saw i was coming towards him x that's when he ran. >> she said they were in the toy aisle, and just turned her back for a brief moment when the man apparently touched her daughter. we have not heard back from stanley police on an update. not only are they taking a look at surveillance footage from inside the store but also outside the store. hoping to get a good looking description of the car this man got away in. we have not heard back but they are asking for the public's help in finding them. all right. thank you, brian.

it is 7:35. a woman in seattle turned to social media for help after a man groped her and police did not seem interested in investigating. julia took a picture of the alleged groper after the incident last sunday and went to file a police report but officers didn't seem interested in looking at the picture she had of the man. so she posted the picture on twitter. >> i was left with the impression that still nothing would happen, even though i had some kind of evidence. >> the story caught the attention of local news stations and seattle police later assigned the case to a detective. the department of corrections officers told police they recognized the man as a registered sex offender, and she was arrested for violation of his supervision. 7:36, happening now t nation's second largest nurses union, they are here and holding a news conference in washington d. c. these are live pictures and talking about the lack of safety pro texts for

the tsa's no-fly list. the day before amber vinson went to the hospital, she flew on a frontier airlines plane from cleveland to dallas, a plane that had 132 people on board. now she called the cdc to report she had 99.5-degree fever, a temperature, but no one told her to avoid that flight. she got on. the cdc is trying to find everyone on the flight to keep an eye on their health. the frontier plane flew last night to denver. they have cleaned out the plane three time this is week and will clean it again and change out the air filters. 7:39, againing today, four major u.s. airports in chicago, atlanta, and new york and washington d. c. will take the temperatures of passengers arriving from ebola stricken countries in west africa.

the apartment complex where the boy lives. it happened around 9:30. sheriffs deputies came in and they taped off this area. a sheriff's spokesman confirmed a 12-year-old child was shot out here and air lifted to children's hospital in oakland. the sheriff's office is not giving us the condition of the victim this morning, but a witness who was afraid to show her face described the frantic moments following the gun fire. >> he was just laying on the ground, bleeding, and he was numb and i was like it's going to be okay. >> sheriffs investigators have not said what the circumstances of this shooting were, or if anybody is in custody this morning. we have put in several calls to a spokesman looking for more information. we will let you know when we

this groper effected them, and it could have happened to anybody. behind me is this wal-mart store in stanley andro where the suspected groper first hit. police have the video and asking for the public's help in finding him. i want to go to the video. they describe him as 6-6.5 feet in height, medium build and wearing black long sleeve dress shirt, black tie, and dress shoes. that's a clue. he's likely employed at a retail store, hotel or restaurant. on monday, he was following a 9- year-old girl and her younger sister around the aisles at the wal-mart. the kids briefly separated from their parents, and were just a few feet away when this man inappropriately touched the 9- year-old girl. she screamed as loud as she could, and told her parents

parents and they told security. they called police. the man ran off. 15 minutes later, police got another report of a man doing the same thing, at a target store 1.5-miles away, and he touched a 6-year-old girl. the mother tells us she's speaking out and saying her daughter is traumatized and getting the word out to other parents. >> she assured me and said, mommy, you didn't do anything wrong, i could see you. even though i felt horrible because it's my job to protect her. >> years ago, you didn't lock your doors and didn't have worry about it. and today you can't even be in a shopping mall without someone yanking them out of your hand and it's just the society we live in today, unfortunately. very sad. >> the mother who you just heard from say they were in the toy aisle and turned her back for a brief moment when the man touched her daughter. i just got off the phone with

and quotes from survivors of domestic abuse. some say campos has been the victim of a smear campaign. san francisco police are warning bicyclists to be careful and on the look out after a series of violent thefts in the panhandle near golden gate park. thieves are attacking in groups of 2-4 people. and they jam something into the spokes of bikes and attack the riders. all the attacks happened on bike paths, and the panhandle between october 3 and 5, four bike riders were attacked and last friday, there were two attempted attacks. these are particularly vicious because there's been no attempt to even slow the bike down and ask for the bicycle. they are using violence first to take the bikes. >> now the police have increased patrols in the panhandle and warning bicycle
