forward and ran over -- women, then pulled forward and ran over one of the victims. it's this imagery he can't get out of his head even hours later. as he wrapped dinner orders, he struggles to wrap his mind about what he just witnessed. >> why would he do something like that? >> reporter: around 1:30, he stepped outside and saw two women walking in the parking lot. >> all of a sudden, this red truck just bulldozed them just out of nowhere. one of the girls went flying in the air and when she hit the ground, the truck ran over her again. >> reporter: salter called 911 again as police called and the red truck returned. i said there's the truck there and they took after it in a high-speed chase and caught it at tennessee street. >> reporter: police arrested the american canyon resident now booked on two counts of attempted murder because police called the hit-and-run intentional. >> the girls were pretty mangled. hopefully, they'll be all right. >> reporter: police say one of

the dated him in the past. >> they'll be in my prayers. >> reporter: one woman was transported to a hospital. the other it would a trauma center. we have calls to police and are working to find out the latest on their conditions. channel 2 news. khris plis in san jose -- police in san jose are investigating the calls of a solo car crash that killed a drifer and left his passenger hospitalized. it happened last night. when officers arrived, they found a man and woman trapped inside of a car that was smashed against a concrete sign. the woman was taken to local hospital. the man with a pronounced dead at the scene. investigators say it's not clear if drugs or alcohol were involved. traffic is moving once again along highway 29 after a fatal accident. it happened around 12:30 this afternoon and closed down a portion of the southbound state highway. investigators say the two- vehicle collision caused one car to flip on its side in the roadway. one person was confirmed dead

at the scene. no additional injuries were reported. >> ♪ don't stop believing >> giants fans, we are now just less than 72 hours away from game one of the world series. the bay area believing the team could win a third championship in five seasons. all setup, you probably know this, because of this pennant- clinching home run by travis ishikawa. frank burk, a life long giants fan from oakdale, he caught that ball there. he said just going to the game was important. that's because he went with his friend who was in the middle of his fight with cancer. while that ball could have returned to oakdale with burk, burk tells us in his heart he knew he want the rightful owner, so he gave it back to ishikawa and got to see the post-game celebration close up. >> travis came out and came over to me and, you know, showed him the ball. shook hands. >> ishikawa gave him a signed bat in return.

he also got four world series tickets to next friday's game. he said he's bringing his wife, his friend with cancer, but it's more complicated to figure out who is getting the fourth picket. turns out burk has four kids, so he thought the fair thing to do is to pick a name out of a hat. this afternoon, giants got a final workout in before they hit the road to kansas city. john was there at at&t park where the players were still buzzing from thursday night's dramatic win. >> one, one! >> the giants ran a methodical workout today focusing first on catching base runners because they know their world series opponents are fast. >> we're going to have to control their running game. i know that's a big key for them. then, just keep playing our game. >> in the clubhouse beforehand, travis ishikawas talked about his historic home run. >> hit down into right. >> it propelled the team into the world series. >> you know, i've watched the replay dozens of times and the more i watch it, i see it, i
