but he's on base for the third time. count evens at 2-2. strickland getting ready for the bottom of the ninth. >> harold: sometimes when the game is ugly and you take a ball like that, you're not going to get a hit. tight game. >> joe: strickland can't wait to get back out there, having allowed four home runs this postseason. he will get his chance in the bottom of the ninth. it won't be easy. he has the 3, 4, and 5 hitters to challenge for the young right-hander who can light up a radar gun. >> harold: one of the things they want to try to do is get him to face more right-handers and i think the challenge is facing hosmer, the lefty, because that is who hurting him with the long ball this postseason.

right here. the whole town, the whole area. >> joe: the giants, who have won eight straight postseason series, dating back to 2010, are on the way to handing the royals their first loss of this postseason after setting a big league record, winning the first eight. that is to the shortstop escobar. out at second as they just got pence. two down. >> harold: i thought that was -- that's a real difficult play because they are in the shift. he has to run. to flip it underhand, i was thinking he is going to have trouble with that. part of the reason he is flipping underhand infante is on the run from where he was at positioned over in the shift

position at second base. so ground ball really took and made it a difficult play, a routine play become difficult. >> joe: here's morse. first and third. two out. that's strike one. if you're bruce bochy or ned yost, you want to get strickland some work, you also don't mind getting some of the other guys into the ball game because you've had the long layoff. game five of the nlcs was on thursday. a game tomorrow and then another off day, a travel day before friday, saturday, and sunday in san francisco. that is a strike and it's 0-2.
