bit slower and he just didn't have that late life on his fastball. you see right there. the ball down in the zone and sandoval doing a good job of getting that. 4 for 8 and two walks for pence. posey lined out twice. you have 3, 4, 5 hitters in this lineup dominating and pence doing his thing. really tough night for james shields in particular. >> when this was occurring when shields is off, clearly it gave as a hitter what did the giants do well to take advantage? >> took advantage of every opportunity they had. got guys on and got them in. games like this you have to take advantage of every opportunity in your game. the royals tonight three hits, four hits. one run. i mean, they just didn't have it tonight. that's it. >> the biggest thing they get out of the gate, the place is electric and 3-0 giants and, boom, the air is sucked out of the place. madison bumgarner is outstanding on the road. look at these numbers. best e.r.a. in postseason road games with a minimum 25 innings

by madison madison bumgarner, you can hear him grunting, kind of like he was rearing back giving it everything he had. roberts is in the studio and earlier i asked him what he thought about madison bumgarner and he said determined. he said madison bumgarner was determined to find his way and figure it out and you saw the result, a huge win by the giants. nothing is more satisfying than to take the home game right out of the start and that's what he did, he came to score and pablo sandoval pitched into the front corner. a nice play by the royals to cut down buster posey at the plate and he is out number 2. he came and drove one over the wall in center field, just like that it was 3-0 giants and they were searching again to get -- for something to get enthusiastic about. they had a runner on and two outs. madison bumgarner pitched and he runs the ball down to deep center and they go to the second up 3-0 and at first it is a double for him, nobody out, a base hit and that's when

madison bumgarner cranked it out. he refused to give in to escobar. stricting him out with a high fastball. then nouri could not hold out on a strike out, he got the out this second by another runner, he still had not allowed another single run and the giants had applied a lillypadding in the 4 4th after he led off with a double. he came on with michael moors, he chased shields from the game. then if there was any doubt, he got passed him as the ball rolls, he goes to third with an rbi triple. >> that was all for the relief, tim collins, he gets it 7-0 and
