there was only one person. a woman was found in the water 250 feet down. she was pulled from the water and pronounced dead. no word as to why they are on the rocks. man from richmond hospitalized in serious condition after being shot by police. ktvu's yawn s is here from the -- john sasaki is here from the scene of the shooting as investigators figure out what prompted police it open fire. >> reporter: this is where it began. you can see firefighter hours later police are still -- 5 hours later police are still here. two officers spotted a man breaking into a car. this is the pacific east shopping mall. the officers tried to stop that man. that man who was 19 years old ran off and once he got into his car he dragged one of the officers who was hanging from the door and bumped into the other officer who then opened fire on him. that suspect then got away.

and drove to the other side of the freeway. that is where he crashed, and that is where police caught up to him. as you can see officers arrested the man who was suffering from one gun shot wound. >> we have an extinctionive crime scene. -- extensive crime scene. officers are looking for embayments he may have discarded -- items he may have discarded. >> reporter: several people including a police officer said it took a while for medical care to arrive. this parking lot here is very well known for having car break ins. live in richmond john sasaki, ktvu channel 2 news. that developing news in

last sunday a young mother of four was shot and killed in oakland. now police have a suspect in custody and today we learned more about how he was taken into custody. he was arrested in sacramento county and investigators say they found the weapon they think was used during the shooting. ktvu's noelle walker is outside police headquarters there in oakland. and she spoke with the victim's husband. >> reporter: opd and the community have not always had the best working relationship but investigators say this arrest is an example of what

b.a.r.t. after a tree fell on the tracks. b.a.r.t. says the tree fell on the tracks between the concord and north concord station. right now b.a.r.t. is single tracking trains through the area so riders may have to get off and wait for the next train going in their direction. bottom line, major delays in the east bay. two brothers accused of carrying out a brutal beating during the 49ers game were in court today. they did not enter a plea. they are charged with felony assault. prosecutors say they attacked two men on october 5 in the rest room. bail for one of the brothers was lowered to $250,000 and the other was increased to 150,000. they were ordered to return to court january 20. governor jerry brown tast his vote today.

board has a big problem. and concerned parent contacted ktvu's eric rasmussen. he is here with what he found. >> the candidate denies he wrote the internet posts including one that talks about the benefits of beating up wives and kids. but some parents point to evidence online and a pattern of behavior that they say suggests otherwise. >> reporter: the prize in november, a seat on the school board. a district responsible for the education of 20,000. why this mom is so troubled by what she reading online. >> i thought it was joke. >> reporter: she is one of several parents speaking up on this message board. >> the men have been beating up their wives.

>> reporter: translating that for me? >> that's right. >> reporter: it says we also want to discuss how to educate a wife's mind and how to beat up kids. an account linked to him. he is one of four people running for three seats. >> how can you possibly run for a position knowing you have written these posts. >> reporter: this is eric rasmussen with ktvu channel 2 news. >> reporter: we called him to ask for an interview. we caught up to him when he didn't respond. >> why would you write about starting a wife beating club? >> that is not me. >> reporter: he would not confirm or deny whether the account was his but he admits to another incident in 2009. the moderatedder said he sent him threat -- moderator said he

a missing hunter was found alive after surviving 7 days in the wilderness with his dog. he is in the middle. he went missing, he said during his 7 days and 6 nights he survived on grubs, lizards and grasshoppers. 14 agencies sent volunteers and on tuesday they spotted him and
