45 degrees in oakland. that's a cool start. napa, you're the winner there. 37 degrees outside your door. that's a chilly one. as we get into the second half of the afternoon, temperatures looking quite nice. partly warmer today. east bay shoreline. if you're going to levy stadium. temperatures in the mid to upper 60s. a warmer trend coming in the week ahead. there's grieving this morning. four men was killed and a fifth injured when their boat cap side. live for us along the san francisco water front as they head out on the second day of the crab fishing season. >> we have seen a few boats head out this morning with some grab traps in the back. where we're standing is where most of the commercial crab

fishermen leave from. some of traps are stacked here behind us. the crb season doesn't start for another two weeks but the condition these commercial and -- the weather and waves are unpredictable. all it takes is one wave to get you in trouble. that's what happened with these recreational fishermen. they were about 40 yards away from the shore but the sheriff's investigator say a rogue wave capsized their vote. they pulled five people in francis howell the water. only one man survived. none of the people on board that boat have been wearing life vests even though they had some available on board. >> well, could have been made all the difference in the world. there were life vests available on the boat with all water craft to have life vests available.

no one on the boat according to the lone survivor was wearing a life vest and it's just a tragedy. >> reporter: a commercial fisherman says it's not uncommon for fisherman to avoid wearing those life vests when they're out in the water. >> some people wear vests, you know, a little vest but most of the guys that fish commercial don't. they're a little cumbersome if you can get a small vest, it's not bad. but they can kind of get in the way between that and the rain gear. >> the people killed in this wreck yesterday includes boat owners 79 -- 86 boats -- a 6- year-old. the identity of the woman has not been released. survivor is 66 -- they wanted to point out that the vessel they were in was an ocean bearing vessel. they did have some significant

experience crab fishing, but again, as that one fisherman told us, all it takes is one wave to capsize a boat. channel 2 news. >> thanks. >> u crurks berkeley student fell to his death during a concert in oakland. he was killed friday night. he fell more than 20 feet from an elevated and riblghted area. he was a sophomore at california from phoenix, arizona. authorities say he was intoxicated and climbing down from the elevated area when he was fell. he was attending the halloween concert. a man riding a skateboard was hit and killed. the skate border died at the scene. he's described being in his 20s or 30s. the driver kept going after the incident but police say it is possible he did not know that

he struck someone. the driver was located a short time later. the police are handling l case more information on the -- blew up on friday. it could be two weeks before those evacuated neighbors can move back into their home. the damage extends 200 feet in all directions around the damaged home. they're allowed to go inside to pick up some clothing. a security guard is monitoring the scene. >> there's no power, no gas, no water. we can't be back in it. >> two men living at the damaged unit suffered severe burns. fire investigators confirmed the block was called by the manufacture of hash oil. men could face drug charges if they recover from their injuries. the ntsb says the virin galactic spaceship could take

the -- authorities say in some areas mud was waist high. well a homeless shelter will not open as schedule this month and the qeak is to blame. for the past five years that shelter has been locketsed at the napa valley expo. this year it was planned for november 15th but thanks to damage from the quake that's not going to happen. possibly solution. they are considering put up a tent at the napa expo until repairs are complete. it housed about 50 people. homeowners are starting to get federal relief. the disaster country just opened isis doors. home oarns get assistance. business owners can get access to low business loans. anyone who needs help can -- disaster assistance.org. >> every household is unique.

morning. welcome back. >> we'll get to that story in just a minute but we want to start you off with a look at your weather. we've been talking a about it this morning. the chill of the air. i got my jacket. >> yeah. good idea if you're going to be outdoors this morning. maybe an early morning soccer game or headed out to breakfast. mostly sunny skies. a beautiful start to the day. into san francisco. mostly sun ?i skies. just a little bit of cloud cover and patchy fog out there but not much to speak of. it shouldn't cause you any trouble. you can see and that's really about it. take a look at all that clear sky. even over the coast. you're mostly clear this morning. but again, temperatures probably the headline this morning because for some it's a chilly start. take a look at napa. 39 degrees. some of us in the 40s. swliping into the upper 30s. it's a cold one. but we're going to see those temperatures turn around in the next couple of hours. by the afternoon, we have

another two week but the condition all fishermen face are the same. they can be unpredictable and dangerous and that's especially true off the coast of northern california. now in -- yesterday afternoon that's where four men and one woman were coming back after a day of crab fishing. their boat was full of crab. only about 40 yards away from the shore when investigators say a rogue wave capsized their vote. the coast guard pulled five people from the water. only one man survived. none of the people had been wearing life vests even though they had some on board. but a commercial fisherman says it's not uncommon to avoid wearing them. vest along with the rain gear can be cumbersome. they know there are risks involved when they do. >> there's always a danger. every time you go out there's a dangerous. there's no gas station in the

they found a man dead in the store. they have not released any suspect information or any possible motive. san francisco police are also investigating a deadly shooting that happened around 9:00 yesterday morning between ellis and eddie. someone fired multiple shots at the victim. he was able to walk into a store after being shot. that's where he collapsed. store owner did call 9-1-1. the man later died at the hospital. >> i heard multiple shots. >> it jolted me out of bed. i walked down here, and, you know, ambulance, fire truck, people screaming, people crying. it's like out of a horror movie. >> no arrests have been made. >> a funeral for a sacramento sheriff deputy killed in the line of duty. friends an family of deputy danny oliver held a memorial workout. they wore blue to support law enforcement and do it for dan t shirts. following the exercise, the group held a candlelight vigil.

fishermen war -- most of the commercial fishermen leave from. the commercial crab fishing season doesn't start for another couple of weeks but whether you're commercial or -- the conditions when you head out are the same. weather and waves can be very unpredictable as one fisherman told us it's one wave to catch you off guard. that's apparently what happened according to investigators to five people who went crab fishing yesterday. the four men and woman were coming back from a crab fishing day. they were about 40 yards away from the shore. they say a rogue wave capsized their vote. the cost guard and sheriffs deputy pulled five poem out of the water. only one man survived. none of the people on board had been wearing life vests even though they had some available. >> could have made all the difference in the world. there were life vests available on the boat with all water

craft. to have life vests available. unfortunately no one on the boat according to one survivor was wearing a life vest. and it's just a tragedy. >> reporter: a commercial fisherman says it's not uncommon for fishermen to avoid wearing those when they're out in the water. >> some people wear vests, you know, a little vest but most of the guys don't. they're a little cumbersome. if you can get a small vest, it's not bad. but they kind of get in the way between that and the rain gear and everything you're wearing. >> now the people killed in the wreck include the boat owners 79 jest sigh languagely -- both from -- and 6-year-old. the identity of the fourth victim, a woman, has not been released. and sheriffs deputies point out that the boat they were in was an ocean vessel.

a homeless shelter will not home. the earthquake is to blame. it's opened isis door in early novembers. the opening was scheduled for november 15th but thanks to dam from the quake, that's not going to happen. shelter organizers are still trying to find possible solutions. they are considering putting up a tent at the napa expo you want repairs are complete. last year the shelter housed about 50 people. meanwhile home openers are starting to get federal relief. the center just opened its

a funeral will be held for a sheriff's deputy killed in the line of duty. friends and family held a memorial workout in his honor. they were both killed last week. prosecutors say a husband and wife are being charged with murder in connection with the shooting. the officer accused of sharing nude picture of women he's arrested is suspected to turn himself in tomorrow morning. at least two women have come forward accusing him of taking photos from their phone. they're looking into his history to check for any other incidents. he's expected to turn himself in.
