at two people. a security guard intervened and was shot in the arm. the shooter was arrested. on sunday a woman was hurt after getting hurt in cross fire of a shooting. ktvu channel 2 news obtained surveillance video of a violent confrontation. the victim told ktvu channel 2 news she asked a mother to calm her screaming child inside the nordstrom rack monday afternoon. now watch the top of your screen. after the woman left the store the video shows a woman -- video show as woman punching the victim. the attacker got into a car and police are asking any witnesses to police come forward. crews have been working to repair a water main break in the south bay. the was reported at 12:30 p.m. this afternoon near the villages in east san jose. it goes to a fire hydrant so water service was not effected but crews were still trying to

he hopes it will be true. >> reporter: he is the president of the san jose police officer association a group that endorsed dave cortese. >> usually you let whoever is going to come out on the losing end make a call. >> reporter: dave cortese released a statement saying out of respect to our supporters and the voters i want to let all the votes be counted before making a statement. although i grafted sam liccardo this morning, this race is still too close to call. i am confident in the process and want everyone to understand every vote does indeed count. >> i will be happy with either one of them as opposed to the previous mayor. >> upset about the success of the republicans nationwide. it will have more impact on my life. >> reporter: she hopes to have votes counted by saturday and then they will tackle the provisional ballots. so the numbers could be weeks

away. paul chambers, ktvu channel 2 news. in oakland the mayor's race wasn't that close. it appears that libby schaaf is the winner. she talked about the win today. >> while we love our city and we believe in its greatness we know it could be better. >> libby schaaf's news conference was like a campaign party. she left in fun style. libby schaaf had 19% of the vote in the initial tabbuleses but when rank -- tabulations but when rank choice voters were tabulated she won by 15%. it took 15 rounds for her to win. rebecca kaplan was second in the voting with 37%. these pictures are from last night. we tried to get a comment from her tonight but she wasn't ready to discuss the results. mayor jean quan congratulated

libby schaaf in a written statement. and she thanked voters and pledged to work for a smooth transition at city hall. mayor jean quan's statement reads libby schaaf inherits a city where crime is down, finances are strong, police reforms are near completion and the economic renaissance is underway. www.ktvu.com has complete election coverage, results and a look at the big races. four teenagers injured in two separate shootings are recovering this evening. someone opened fire on a crowd last night before 7:00 p.m. a 16-year-old boy was hit in the stomach. a minute later police responded to 15th and found two more boys suffering from gun shot wounds and later police say a 16-year- old girl showed up at the hospital with a gun shot wound to her hip. no arrests have been made.

we are learning new details about a blacksmith accused of stabbing his girlfriend during a trip to meet her family. ktvu's noelle walker is live at the oakland airport where she talked with a flight attendant who knew the victim. >> reporter: i spoke with her as she came into work. she worked with kelly turner and described her as a beautiful woman with a beautiful heart. >> reporter: at oakland i. there were tears among -- airport there were tears among flight attendants after news that kelly turner was killed and her boyfriend joseph karr booked for murder. >> there is nothing about joe that would indicate he had violent tendencies. >> reporter: friends are trying to make sense on how a trip to texas ended so violently. joseph karr tabbed kelly turner on halloween night.

according it an arrest warrant loved ones heard kelly turner scream and then saw joseph karr holding a knife saying i can't believe i killed her. >> at this time it is being investigated as a homicide. >> he works out of this studio as blacksmith. videos show him making knives. his facebook page photos are a gallery of his work that joseph karr killed his girlfriend with a knife has though who knew him shaking their heads. >> you are trying to piece together was there something i saw in him that i should have noticed more so that this could have been prevented. >> reporter: we talked to a couple of people outside that emeryville studio where he is known as the bohemium blacksmith. he was stunned to hear about the killing and shocked that joseph karr was arrested for murder. noelle walker, ktvu channel 2

news. in antioch police arrested a man in connection to a hash macing operation that lead to a fire at a apartment monday night on sick more drive. it started -- sycamore drive. it started on the balcony. police arrested a 30-year-old of antioch on suspicion of manufacturing hash oil. this was the second hash oil related fire in contra costa county in four days. friday a hash lab exploded in walnut creek and two people were seriously injured. a judge has been admonished by a commission for talking harshly to parents in fallally law -- family law cases. he made inappropriate remarks to parents in six different cases between 2012 and 2013. in one case he referred to a mother accused of drunk driver with her child in the car as a

today a mother of four young children was layed to arrest following shooting that may be connected to road rage. the funeral for perla avina was held this morning. the wife and mother was shot five blocks from her home. a man who lived in the neighborhood was arrested and charged with her murder but the motive is uncheer. her husband -- unclear. her husband claims it was road rage. police say the shooting happened as perla avina and her husband were driving back from the store. they say he pulled along side the car and fired several shots. perla avina was in the passenger seat and was killed by one of the ballts. a woman from livermore -- bullets. woman from livermore is helping someone will bring a
