san francisco general hospital. we notice that. so ambulances trying to get into the emergency room right now are having to sort of go around. and that might be slowing down their response times here. if you look behind me it's a big smoky. that's because of the flares set up here. we have a truck coming through. but if you take a look behind me there you can see where the power lines are sagging. those are actually muni lines. we understand that one person was hurt when a tree fell and snagged those power lines. it was a man. he was taken to the hospital to be treated. we believe he has a leg injury. that is what we heard from the san francisco fire department. this is on 22nd and the potrero. we know that potrero from 21st to 24th is shut down. lines 9 and 33 are being rerouted around the tree. the sheriff's department says that we have live wires here. so no one is being allowed through. this is just one of several trees in the city that have

fallen overnight. on steiner and eddie public works crews are removing a tree that crashed three cars in front of an apartment complex on steiner near eddie around 5:00 this morning. luckily, no one was hurt. neighbors were shocked by what had they heard and then saw. >> we heard a sound and i thought it was an accident and came out on eddie and didn't see anything. so came out here and discovered it was a tree that had fallen on these cars. >> reporter: but it sounded like a car accident? >> yeah, it did. it was pretty loud. it was like the third tree around this block that fell. one here on steiner, one on eddie, and one on pierce. >> reporter: we know another tree toppled on geary and goff. another one in north beach. so four trees that we know of. and you can see this is going to take some time for crews to get all of this cleaned up here. we know that some of the power is still out so they are not only going to have to reroute the wires but again a lot of these muni buses are having to go around these three blocks of potrero. we have seen again at least one

the chief also says it's important to continue and expand on school programs that help kids deal with conflict in a healthy and constructive way. now, we should point out that deaths are down significantly in richmond from 50 a few years ago to 13 this year. the chief says if the community stays involved and connected to police, it will continue to get better. tori. >> all right. thank you, pam. 8:39. happening today members of the san francisco's fire commission will once again discuss the job performance of the city's embattled fire chief. their agenda includes a closed door session to review an employee performance evaluation of fire chief joanne hayes white. many rank and file firefighters have repeatedly stated they have lost confidence in her leadership. the chief has recently been at the center of the controversy over long delays in ambulance response times. 18,000 kaiser nurses have left the picket line and say they are now eager to get back to the bargaining table.

the nurses spent the past two days picketing outside hospitals and clinics across northern california. the two-day strike was tied to an on going contract dispute with the nurses demanding better staffing, training and equipment. kaiser says it's responded to all of the nurses' protesters and doesn't know why they decided to go on strike. this morning the european space agency is releasing more photos of the probe that land and a small comet yesterday. the pictures are quite clear, but what they show may create some concerns. the first photo shot -- shows one of the craft's three legs is not level. it could be wedge inside a pit. they say the probe appears to have come to rest in the shadow of a cliff. that presents a potential problem for the solar panels which need sunlight to recharge its batteries. if it can't recharge, the
