offense saying she was wearing undergarments and a jacket. they told me yesterday as we reported the victim was wearing high heels and not dressed for a walk up the mountains. >> thank you. the california highway patrol issued a amber alert for a missing 14-year-old believed to have been kidnapped. sergio vazquez was taken by two men driving a white van. he is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. he was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans, and black snow-type boots he was last seen at 10:00 a.m. this morning east of stockton. police say he is a high school freshman and he was walking between the high school and a mini mart when he was kidnapped. there are new developments in the death of a teenager who was hit and killed by a suspect trying to get away from police. today a man was arrested and he has a long criminal history

that includes having sex with an animal. ktvu's cristina rendon is live with more on what we are learning. >> reporter: sonny anderson is back behind bars and he has been in and out of jail since 1999. that is when his criminal history began starting with an animal abuse conviction that petting zoo. he was convicted of having sex with a goat and mutilating it. and then in 2009 sonny anderson was convicted of theft of an elderly and he beat an elderly woman. he has five other convictions, reckless driving and burgly to name -- burglary to name a few. in the case of ivan cruz's death he will be charged with second degree murder. sonny anderson led authorities on a high-speed chase tuesday and in the process he hit and killed ivan cruz who was in a

crosswalk. sonny anderson was found hiding in a garage last week and ivan cruz's family was present for the announcement of the arrest today. a cousin expressed gratitude to authorities for taking sonny anderson off the streets while they grieve ivan cruz's death. >> may ivan rest easy as we into struggle and fight the fact that our brother is gone. >> reporter: and the family says they are planning for the funeral to be on november 24. they have a go fund me account set up in the teen's name. tomorrow sonny anderson will go before it a judge where he will be charged with second degree murder. >> cristina rendon live tonight, that you can -- thank you. >> firefighters found a body burning inside a car in a garage at 9:30 a.m.

this morning. the fire freed other cars. vealingers -- spread to other cars. investigators say the driver may have had a medical emergency. 7 people are without a home tonight in berkeley after an apartment fire this morning about 5:00 a.m. the residents were asleep but a neighbor pounded on the doors to wake them up. smoke alarms also helped alert residents. it started near a wall heater. a san francisco supervisor wants the city to take better care of its trees. the city placed the maintenance responsibility on to private property owners. last week we saw examples of falling trees after the rain. he is proposing an urban forest fund of 15 to $30 million a year to take care of trees and

he says a property tax could be the answer. it led to a drug enforcement administration investigation. dea agents conducted inspections and interviews involving several nfl teams yesterday. including the 49ers. ktvu's allie rasmus is live now to explain the allegations that triggered the investigation and what is at stake for the nfl. >> reporter: 1300 former nfl players are a part of the lawsuit. they say the pain medication they happen given -- they were given ruined their health. several teams got a surprise visit by the dea including the 49ers. >> reporter: they interviewed the doctor for 5 minutes before the team left the stadium. the 49ers was just one of several teams contacted on sunday. a spokesman for the nfl says our teams cooperated with the

dea and we have no information to indicate irregularities were found. former nfl players have a different view. the attorney for jeremy newberry spoke with us today. >> all the rules and ethics that you expect to apply when you go to see your family doctor are thrown out the window when you walk into an nfl locker room. >> reporter: jeremy newberry played with the team from 1988- 2006. he has stage 3 kidney failure because of the pain medication he received during his career. the dea is now getting involved to see if the nfl is violating the controlled substances act. >> it could be helpful if there was another flank, you have the government going after the same evidence. >> reporter: he says it is not uncommon for a lawsuit to trigger a criminal investigation. the nfl filed a motion to have

the lawsuit thrown out. if it moves forward it has the potential to be damaging. >> if i were in the nfl i would be worried about the future of the game more than the damages. >> reporter: the nfl says the legal will not make any comment on the lawsuit. allie rasmus, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you. >> mark ibanez is here now. you just got off the phone with jeremy newberry. what did he tell you? >> we were talking, i mean, this is ubprecedented for the -- unprecedentedprecedented for the nfl to be investigated like this. talking to jeremy newberry, i tell you what, i have known him for 20 years, he is a stand up guy, and he is a high profile plaintiff but he wanted to make it clear, he is not in it to get a check.

he would not be getting involved if he wasn't promised that they were going to do something to change the way drugs are administered to players, not only now but going way off into the future because he is now a player agent and he has a responsible to young players to make sure their long term health is not at risk and now he has stage three kidney failure. i remember talking to him during the pre-game show and he said in one nfl game he sustained a any injury and to get -- knee injury and to get him on the field he took 7 vicodin and that includes a shot that is a pain killer. i think anybody with medical history can tell you how serious that drug intake would be and now he suffered long term damage because of that and he wants to make sure, he is in

this to make sure that players of the future not im-- future are not impacted like he and hundreds of other players have been in the past. they want to make sure drugs are administered and governed stricter. >> did he think this is something that these type of things might happen more often? >> the investigation -- [ talking at the same time ] >> i would think the nfl is now on alert to know that things are changing and the way things are administered and even said it was a trainer that gave him these drugs and not a doctor, which is, you know, not -- not procedure. >> how do you may on 7 vicodin? that is a lot of medication. >> being a young guy, wanting to be on the field, not knowing what the long term effects -- [

of the drought. >> to people it is just another building. >> reporter: he would like to replace the astro turf but first she investigating ways -- he is investigating ways to install it so it stays installed. rob roth, ktvu channel 2 news. san francisco police are stepping up patrols after vandals targeted a park. police say over the weekend vandals spray painted signs and benches, broke a viewing station, stole chimes and left trash and broken glass. a plan is now in place to add officers to parole the park and police are asking visitors to report suspicious behavior. members of the national guard will be sent to west africa next spring to fight ebola. they will send a half dozen guards. they will begin training next
