>> cold out there. 30s for many. the end of the week may be active with a lot of rain and maybe snow in the mountains. we start off with clear skies. everything has gone north unless you are down toward the san joaquin valley. a cold morning, clear skies. a lot of sun. it will be nice to mild. looks pretty good. well northward. northern sacramento valley. clouds will be clearing out. southern california, though, high wind warns are -- warnings are out. fog out in the san joaquin valley. talk about a ridge of high pressure. that's building over us. 30s on the temperatures. san francisco, our observer did dip to 49 degrees first time since june 18th. the temperature is has gone that low. 38 in menlo park. low to mid-40s, fofltert city, san mateo and about also belmont. changes start on friday.

more on that couple in men its. of this -- in a few minutes. on monday, people will go in, get it all done today. we might have a monster commute this evening. we'll start to tail off. let's take a look at the eastshore freeway, 34 minutes. that's around average. last week, we had 90-minute commutes. traffic will be backed up for about a 15, 20 minute delay at the toll plaza. and then more slow traffic getting in to the city. as a matter of fact, let's go down the peninsula. i wanted to talk about southbound 101 near 380. there was an accident until area. look thing at the peninsula, 101 is not that bad getting there from either south city or burlingame getting up to the airport. 7:03. back to the desk. >> all right. thank you, sal. we begin with developing

news from cupertino. an active police search is underway right now for two suspects following a home invasion. it's happening just a half-mile from the apple campus, at least one of the suspects is said to be armed. cara lui is live from the scene. >> reporter: good morning. just in the last half-hour, we've seen about a half-dozen sheriff and other police vehicles move from the scene just about a block and a half away to the nearby community center. i can see some of the deputies right now. they appear to be just regrouping. but again, last word, deputies were still searching for two suspects, at least one of them believed to be armed. this is going on in the cupertino neighborhood near garden gate near the quinnland community center. also not far from the apple campus and de anza college. a sheriff's spokesperson confirms there was a home- invasion. we've seen the k-9 unit out

espn that is a done deal with sandoval likely going to the red sox. there is a second source, this one espn reporting that pablo is headed to boston. we talked with several fans, very upset that the panda is going. pablo did say he was gonna make a decision this week. cbs sports was the first to report this. fox sports baseball insider rosenthal said the deal is in the works. i think his talk with agent -- according to sources, it's five years, close to $100 million. the teams interested in were the giants, red sox and padres. sandoval clutched in the playoffs, especially during the world series. he hit .366 during the playoffs this year. >> it's tough. it's a business. you know, baseball -- it's

developing news, defense secretary chuck hagel is reportedly resigning from president obama's cabinet today. president obama is expected to announce hagel's resignation at 8 ool 10 this morning -- 8:10 this morning our time at the white house. sources says the president's decision is due to the threat from salt lake state militants and the -- islamic state militants and the belief he was not have the skills is debt necessary to deal with the threat. hagel is a former republican senator and served at pentagon chief since early -- as pentagon chief since early 2013. and hagel has agreed to remain in office until his successor is confirmed by the senate. once again, reports say that defense secretary chuck hagel has resigned and announcement will will come from the president in one hour. and there's a surprising new plan to speed up santa clara county's slow election

returns. supervisors say snail mail could be the solution. more than three out of four county voters already cast mail- in ballots. the county's outdated election equipment is producing slower election night results than almost any other county in california. so now county supervisors are considering a plan to drop traditional polling places altogether and simly conduct some elections entirely by mail. happening today, students at uc berkeley plan to walk out of class along with thousands of other students all over the state to protest tuition hikes. students in berkeley have been camped out for several days at wheeler hall protesting tuition hikes approved. the tuition hike is up to 5% a year over the next five years. university leaders say the tuition hike could be reduced or even eliminated if the state provides enough funding. police in pacifica

investigating the death of a 5- year-old girl who drowned over the weekend while taking a bath. it happened saturday on lauren avenue. police say the child was by herself when a family member walked into the bathroom, found her underwater and unresponsive. crews rushed to the scene. they frantically tried to save her. but she was later pronounced dead at the hospital. 7:10. san francisco international airport has been ranked one of the worse airports in the nation when it comes to weather- related delays and cancellations. according to the weather channel, sfo had almost 168 arrivals over a 12-month period. of those, almost 26,000 had a weather-related delay. many of those delays were due to low clouds and fog in san francisco but other problems involve snow and ice in other areas. when i talked to my kids up there, they said the weather is

fine. you know, i don't know what's going on. i know that i'm not happy. >> now, a lot of the other sfo passengers are not happy either. and san francisco international expects to handle 1.3 million travelers between last friday and december 1st. so over the thanksgiving holiday. and if you want to avoid being late to your destination, the weather channel actually says the best advice during the holidays is just to avoid sfo all together and book your flights out of oakland or san jose. 25-year-old man is in jail after his cell phone was found at the scene of an attempted burglary in rohnert park. last week, police say someone fell through the roof of breakaway bikes in rohnert park and it was ransacked along with a hair salon next year. the cell phone was traced to william james dye. he's now facing charges of burglary and vandalism. 7:11. a quiet neighborhood, waking up

following a violent daytime robbery a few days ago. on friday, three men robbed a pharmacy during the day in point richmond. they tied up a u.p.s. driver and employees before taking off with the entire supply of oxy contin. those pills can fetch $100 on the street. a meet something scheduled with police around the safety and a plan to combat violent crime. the best thing residents can do is to shop at local businesses to support the owners. 7:15. did you watch it? the 49ers still in the playoff hunt after, cuting a game-win -- after, cuting a game-winning drive against the redskins of the five minutes left in the fourth quarter. frank gore converted here and then kaepernick hit bolden for a 29-yaferred gain and -- 29- yard gain and then the redskins were penalized for unnecessary

for san jose. but we will make up ground in about 7, 8 days out. 60, 55 officially san francisco. our observer had 49 degrees in san francisco. the first time his temp has dipped below 50 since june 18th. that's a long time running. 49, 61 is average. 41 a few years ago. the record low. the record high is 71 in 1959. he up to the north -- even up to the north. sun is not a problem in southern california but the wind is. high wind warnings are out and also red flag warnings and high fire danger. there's fog in the san joaquin valley. cold air behind. could be a whopper of a system developing a nor easter by -- nor'easter. the position on where the low sets up will make a huge difference if it's a crippling storm or not. but that would be on wednesday. right now, it's warm air ahead of it. on the back side, snow.

for some. and thanksgiving will be just fine. partly cloudy skies, maybe bait but overall, it will be dry and then bechange everything on friday. if you are heading out okay the first part. latter half could be very dicey. >> bough. and sunday is usually like the biggest travel day because everyone -- people -- it spreads out the departure date but a lot of people come back on sunday. robin williams's napa estate is back on the market but at a discounted price. the 640-acre estate was custom built for him almost ten years ago. it is a five bedroom mansion with a home theater and art gallery and infin tip pool. in 2012, he unsickfully tried to sell the home for $35 million saying he just couldn't afford it after two divorces. now just a few months after his death, it's back on the market.

then the new year, then celebrating his anniversary with his girlfriend. he says he's dedicating whatever time he has left to loving the people around him. apple is donating a slice of its holiday sales to a popular a.i.d.s. charity. they will give an unspecified percentage of its online and retail sales to red. donations will come from sales this friday and saturday. apple set aside a section of its app storele called app for red. all generations of the sales of 25 apps will go to the fight against a.i.d.s. more retailers are offering last-minute delivery of christmas presents. 26% of all retailers surveyed say they will guarantee delivery for orders placed one to three days before christmas. that's great for us

easier especially on wednesday. let's take a look at interstate 880 both directions here in front of the oakland coliseum. it does look good. if you are driving farther to hayward, fremont, southbound 880 heavy. it doesn't look that much lighter. we go to the livermore valley and 580 is slow just like any other monday. 680 is slow leaving dublin because of earlier issues. back to the desk. something people are talking about this morning. thousands of people hit the streets of san francisco for what is being called a flask mob. tara moriarty is at union square. what is this all about. >> reporter: we spoke to a security guard and he says that there were about 2,000 people that sort of took over union square last night. they were in and out in about a half-hour. they were a pretty tame crowd. we know that one person jumped up on a police car. extra officers were ordered because a lot of people had flasks in hand.

so plenty of open containers. this crew not only had a lot of flasks but flashes from their cameras. the event was created to allow aspiring photographers to network and take snapshots of san francisco nightlife, everything from people breathing fire to shooting off fireworks to break dancing. the mob met at the cal street b.a.r.t. station and marched to union square. folks were tweeting about it throughout the night. >> i think it's great you can get that many people together in a short amount of time. kind would be great if they were getting them together for something that was more of a boshthy cause that could help the community in a way, as far as the homeless population, abused kid, abused mothers. something like that. >> reporter: san francisco police say no arrests were made. the co-founder says this is a chance for creative people to express themselves. the group meets once a month.

always at 8:00. usually wraps up around 11:00. it's developed such a following that thousands turned up for the event which marked the one- year anniversary. crews were busy cleaning up. no word how police plan to handle the next event that would take place next month. tara moriarty, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you. 7:36. new this morning, the sound of gunfire woke people up in a normally quiet san francisco neighborhood overnight. ktvu's alex savidge is there live with more on the questions the police are still trying to answer and why some neighbors are on edge. good morning, alex. >> reporter: good morning to you. neighbors say this deadly shooting is quite unsettling, not something they expect around here. the shooting happened across the way from where we are near the corner of bistro in the neighborhood. the victim we're told was walking along the street early this morning when he was confronted by several people and then for some reason he wound up being shot. police are not saying what the motive may have been for this attack or this shooting here.

they don't know if this was a robbery that somehow turned violent or what the situation was. the ville was taken to -- victim was taken to san francisco general hospital wherer -- where he died. police blocked off noe and henry as homicide investigators looked through doorways and checked through evidence. the shooting was at 12:30 this morning. several neighbors heard two gunshots not fired in rapid succession. there was quite a bit of time between the two shots and then they heard the victim screaming for help. we talked with one woman who has lived here for almost 50 years. she says the area has the issues with crime from time to time but this kind of violence is unusual. >> it does have its late night revelers. but murder right here in front of my favorite restaurant, it's terrible. it's just really -- it's very disturbing. >> reporter: police say no arrests have been made so far.

but they are trying to work with witnesses who may have been in this area and also checking for the potential of surveillance video to see if that can help them make any arrests in this case, and find the people responsible for this deadly shooting. the victim, the man shot and killed has not been identified. we don't know if he lived here in this neighborhood, but i have reached out to san francisco police this morning. we're looking for yuferp dates on this -- updates on this investigation. we'll let you know if we learn anything. we're live in san francisco, alex savidge, ktvu channel 2 news. >> as the woman said quite disturbing. >> 7:38. thank you, alex. new details about the death last night about a woman hit and killed while walking along 580 in castro valley. the chp says the unidentified woman may have been hit by as many as three different cars. now, we saw the police out there inspecting one car that may have been involved. investigators say they did not find the car that may have belonged to that woman. right now, there's still no word on why she was out there on the freeway.

>> the important thing is pedestrians don't belong on the freeway even if the car -- if you are involved in a collision. if there's no injuries, move to the right shoulder or off the freeway. the westbound lanes of interstate 580est with of highway 238. they were closed for more than three hours last night. we can tell you all of the drivers involved they are cooperating with investigators. the chp is piecing together what led up to a deadly crash involving a wrong-way driver on highway 101 in novato e the 61- year-old driver stopped at this jack in the box before getting on the freeway early yesterday morning. they say he was heading northbound in the southbound lanes when he hit another car head on. both the wrong way driver and the other driver died at the scene. the female passenger in the car that was hit was taken to the hospital. the chp says in cases like this, the wrong-way driver tends to put themselves in the

most dangerous part of the road. >> typically they move all the way over to their right when they come on the freeway which is, of course, the fast lane that they are driving in, driving the wrong way. in their mind, their perception, it's the slow lane but they are in the fast lane going the wrong way. >> police believe alcohol was a factor but are waiting for toxicology reports. they are entering the maximum enforcement period because of the thanksgiving holiday. they say it's one of the most dangerous times to be on the road. the u.s. coast guard worked late into the night searching for a missing surfer last seen in the ocean waters off pacific. several witnesses spotted a man face down in the water off rockaway beach late yesterday morning. the coast guard immediately launched a helicopter and rescue boat. but emergency crews could not find anyone in the water. it's not clear if the search will resume this morning.

7:40. san francisco's tap water is about to change. according to the chronicle, the city is moving ahead with plans to supplement the water supply from the pristine hetch hetchy reservoir. now, the public utilities commission has started digging around golden gate park. they are hoping to tap into the underground flows. over the next two years, that water will be blended in in small bases. city leaders admit the local ground water is not as pure as the hetch hetchy water but they say it's clean enough and it won't change the taste very much. 7:41. reports this morning that will not make giants' fans very happy. coming up at 8:00, who says pablo sandoval is headed for boston and who is saying not so fast. i will explain what i found, hanging from the top of

another security breach at the airport. pam cook has more. >> this happened yesterday morning at the san jose airport. a man was somehow able to sneak on the -- onto the tarmac. he was spotted by airport employees around 10:00 yesterday morning near a ramp that they -- they then took him to the lobby to wait for police. the man somehow got away from him. ran into a parking lot and then got into a san jose city truck. east bay congressman eric swalwell is leading the campacross the country. >> when it comes to terrorism, most terrorism organizations, their number one target is aviation. so bringing down an airport, bringing down an airplane has high value for terrorists. >> no word from investigators at this point on the motive. but 39-year-old miguel zaragoza

was booked into the county jail. he now faces charges of trespassing and possession of a stolen vehicle. now, this incident follows two other high-profile airport security breaches in san jose. back in august, a woman known as the serial stowaway boarded a flight without a ticket and traveled to los angeles where she was arrested. in april, you might remember, 15-year-old santa clara boy hoched over an airport fence and curled up into the wheel well of a jet. he survived a five-hour flight and made it all the way to hawaii. now, an airport security expert is telling the mercury news that most airports see at least a few people hop their fences each year because it's too expensive to make sure that access is impossible. he also says that as long as the intruders are quickly detained, he does not believe that it poses a huge threat. reporting live in the newsroom, pam cook, ktvu channel 2 news. >> but still alarming as we are entering the holiday season and a lot of travelers. one person died.

dozens were hurt after a tour bus crashed in northern california, not one time but twice in the same day. officials say the tour bus heading from los angeles to washington state crashed into a dean nip's yesterday about 40 miles south of shasta lake. no one was hurt. however, hours later, the same bus drifted off interstate 5 and flipped over just north of shasta lake another pollard flat. now, in addition to the one person would was killed, three people were critically hurt, three suffered serious injuries and two dozen were treated for minor injuries. >> man lost his life. he has his family, friends. people who care about him. >> the chp is still investigating whether driver fatigue caused that second crash. he was the face of ktvu

be centered. within the last hour, it appears deputies have reopened this street and wrapping up at least the very active portion of the search of their neighborhood. a yard-to-yard search here near gardengate and glenco. all of this starts before 5:00 a.m. investigators call it a home- invasion robbery. they tell us they got two 911 calls. the first one from someone inside the house saying they were hearing a lot of yelling. the second one, just about five minutes later from the victim saying he or she had been robbed. the deputies say at least one of the suspects was armed. investigators are not sure at this point if the victim was specifically targeted or if this was random. >> we were just outside of the residence, trying to set up the perimeter when they snuck away. we are doing a yard-to-yard search with the k-9s from sunnyvale dps we're not able to locate suspects. we don't believe they are in the area. right now our crime scene unit

new faa rules on drones could dash plans by amazon to one day use commercial drones to deliver packages. the faa will reportedly require anyone operating a drone to have a pilot's license and flights will have a limit of just 400 feet off the ground and be within eyesight of the operator. that's according to the wall street journal. rule would allow the drones to be used in construction, film making and farming but it would be difficult to use droents for deliveries -- drones for deliveries. the in you rules are expected by the end of the year. great news for procrastinators. more retailers are offering last-minute delivery of christmas presents. 26% of all retailers surveyored say they will garn -- surveyed say they will guarantee delivery for orders placed one to three days before christmas. that's up 17% from last year. last year there were many complaints about late

deliveries that did not make it for christmas day. retailers have had time to work out solutions to potential problems. and u.p.s. is determined to perform better than last year. it's rushed to hire 15,000 more workers by next week to help with deliveries. they plan to deliver 585 million packages next month. that's almost two packages for every person living in the u.s. and it says six days this year are likely to be busier than it's busiest day last year. >> no more procrastinating. 8:26. don't want to scare you but being addicted to your cell phone may cost you more than money. there is a new survey that says looking down at your phone can add 60 pounds of pressure on your spine. the study says we spend two to four hours every day with our heads tilted down on that

neighborhood. ktvu's alex savidge is out there now with more on the question, alex, police are trying to answer and why the neighbors are on edge. good morning. >> reporter: dave, good morning to you. neighbors are truly stunned to wake up and hear about this killing. this man was shot right across the street from where we are this morning. right here in this area near the corner. there is a corner bistro right there and homes nearby. the victim according to police was walking along the street early this morning when he was confronted by several people and then for some reason, the man ended up being shot. police aren't saying what the motive was here or if they think this was a robbery of some kind. the shooting happened around 12:30 this morning. the victim was taken to san francisco general hospital but he died there. police came in, blocked off the intersection of noe and henry in the dubose triangle area as homicide investigators checked for evidence on the streets nearby. several neighbors told me they heard two distinct gunshots that were not fired in rapid

succession. >> woke up at 12:30 with a gunshot. and i heard agitated speaking and then about 30 seconds to a minute later, i heard another gunshot. and then i heard the other fellow, i guess it was the other fellow, screaming, help! help! >> reporter: the victim has not been identified. we don't know if he lives in the neighborhood. but i put in a call to san francisco police looking for more information and we will certainly let you know when we learn more about the investigation and the victim here. investigators are hoping that witnesses and potentially surveillance video from both businesses and homes in this area might be able to identify the people behind this troubling crime. one woman we talked to who lives close by told me she's lived here for almost 50 years right on the street. she thoeld me that the area, did you pose triangle has had

-- she told me that this area, dubose triangle has had its issues. alex savidge, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you. you've heard of flash mobs. now flask mobs are taking over san francisco. tara moriarty joining us live from union square. thousands of people hit the streets for a unique event. what happened? >> reporter: they all showed up with flasks in hand. a lot of alcohol involved. would we spoke to a security guard who said police found out about this event on the internet and gave everyone around here four hours' notice, there were extra officers on hand. it's easy to see why. the event on union square only lasted about a half-hour. thatter were 2,000 people who came flasks with alcohol and flashes atop the cameras.

the event was a chance to network and take shots of san francisco nightlife, everything from people breathing fire, shooting off fireworks to break dancing. one person can be seen jumping on a car, a police car. the mob met at the b.a.r.t. station and marched up union square. folks were tweeting about it and posting pictures overnight. we asked people what they thought about the event. >> well, i think the organizers of the organization, they should come up with a way to say, let's give some money back to them. let's come up ahead of time with a what bay to give back to the city, since you have to get the cops for crowd control, that takes away from 911 calls. >> reporter: no arrests were made. the co-founder, evan thompson, said this is a chance for creative people to express themselves. the group means once a month, always at 8:00 and usually wraps up by 11:00. it's developed such a cult following that thousands turned

out for the event which marks the one-year anniversary. live from san francisco, i'm tara moriarty, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you. 8:36. new details about the death of a woman who was hit and killed last night while walking along interstate 580 in castro valley. the chp says the unguided woman may have been hit by as many as three cars. we saw police officers inspecting one car that may have been involved. investigators say they did not find a car that may have belonged to the woman. right now, there is still no word on why she was out on the freeway. >> the important thing is pedestrians don't belong out on the freeway even if your car -- even if you are involved in a collision, if there's no injuries, move to the right shoulder or off the freeway. >> the westbound lanes of 580, west of highway 238 were closed for more than three hours late night. all of the drivers involved are cooperating with investigators.

the chp still piecing together what led up to a deadly crash in novato involving a wrong-way driver on highway 101. the chp says the 61-year-old driver stopped at this jack in the box in novato before getting on the freeway early yesterday morning. they say he was heading northbound in the southbound lanes when he hit another car head on. both a wrong-way driver and the driver of the other car died here at the scene. a female passenger in the car that was hit was taken to the hospital. the chp says cases like this, the wrong way driver tends to put himself on the most dangerous part of the road. >> they move all the way over to their right when they come on the freeway which is, of course, the fast lane that they are driving in, driving the wrong way. in their mind, their perception, it's the slow lane but they are in the fast lane going the wrong way. >> now, the chp says they do believe alcohol was a factor in this crash. but they are waiting for the toxicology reports. the chp says is also entering

the maximum ent forcement period because of the -- maximum enforcement period because of the thanksgiving holiday. they say it's one of the most dangerous times to be on the road. a former concord school teacher scheduled to go on trial for the child molestation charges for the second time. joseph martin is charged with molesting concord students. this time he faces 22 counts. that's a fraction of the 90 cases. that case ended in a hung jury in august. he faces life in prison if convicted on all counts. robin williams's napa esstate is back on the market but at a big discount. of the 640-acre estate was custom built for limb almost ten years -- for him almost ten years ago. in 2012, williams unsuccessfully tried to sell the the home for $35 million

is demanding change. good morning, pam. >> good morning. this all happened yesterday morning at the san jose airport. a man was somehow able to sneak onto the r tarmac. police say he was spotted by airport employees at about 10:00 yesterday morning near a ramp. the employees took him to the lobby to wait for police but the man somehow got away. he then ran into a parking lot and got into a san jose city truck. officers finally caught up to him at terminal b. bea caught up with -- we are caught up with one traveler who said she's not surprised but concerned. >> they have to definitely keep up with security, like try it upgrade their training or something just to make sure that we stay safe. >> i still believe that we need to have a perimeter security system that alerts officials the moment that the breach takes place. if officials have to wait to find individuals roaming around in the terminal area, i think that's too late. >> that's air irk swalwell.

he -- eric swalwell. he is leading the way for tighter security at san jose and other airports across the country. this incident follows two other security breaches in san jose. in august, a woman known as the serial stowaway managed to board a flight without a ticket, get through security and travel to los angeles where she was arrested. in april, a 15-year-old santa clara boy hopped over an airport phones and curled up in the wheel well of a jet. you sir viveled the flight -- he survived the flight all the way to highway. the spokesperson for the airport says they've taken steps to enhance security after the previous two incidents but she did not give nep further details other than that. reporting live in the newsroom, pam cook, ktvu channel 2 news. >> certainly interesting developments. thank you. 8:45. happening today, students at uc berkeley plan to walk out of class along thousands of other students across the state

protesting tuition hikes. students in berkeley have been camped out for days at wheeler hall protesting tuition hikes approved last week by the board of regents. each hike is up to 5% a year over the in exfive years. ufrt leaders say the tuition hike could be reduced or even eliminated if the state gives them enough. one year after 2 investigates first reported on a san francisco sheriff's deputy suspended for assaulting an inmate. there are new claims that he is at it again. 2 investigates discovered that deputy doug jones has been named in several internal affairs investigations since our last report. this summer an inmate in san francisco county jame told his family that jones and another deputy held him down and beat him. >> one of the guys was holding him and other -- while the other one was hitting him and they -- deputy jones also

strangled him. and they -- i know they pulled him -- they dragged him from the jail cell. go tonight at 10:00, 2 investigates digs into the recent history of disciplinary action taken against jones and asks the sheriff avenue local legal council how the department is handling these allegations. 8:47. hey, sal, the east shore, everybody behaving? >> well, i would say behaving. >> okay. >> it's still a normal commute. haven't had a lot of crashes but we do have slow traffic there. the drive time between the carquinez bridge and the macarthur maze is about 34 minutes. so it's typical. maybe tomorrow we'll see an improvement. when up get to the bay bridge, you are going to see traffic that is going to be backed up here but it's improving a little bit. as a matter of fact, traffic is doing okay once you make it onto the upper deck of the bay bridge with no major problems. i do want to mention that traffic on 580 is still very slow in the livermore.

very slow there. it's still kind of recovering after an earlier problem. and then we also had some problems on northbound 101 in mountain view. they cleared an accident from the lanes. but northbound 101 is slow from san jose into sunnyvale up to mountain view because of an earlier crash right near 85. 8:47. let's go to steve in the weather center. >> we do have clear skies. not much of a breeze here although there is a little northeast at half moon bay airport. they are a balmy 57 degrees. a lot of 30s reports of frost from san jose to morgan hill. a couple of reports coming in from morgan hill, frost around. not surprised. a lot of 30s though showing up -- showing up under clear skies. our rainfall is still below average. we'll make up ground in five, seven days. only 37% of normal officially for santa rosa. 67% for san francisco and 52 for san jose. all quiet through thanksgiving.

one observer in san francisco, actually had his timp ditch below 50 for the first time since june 18th. that's average for this time of year. 49, 61. officially, 50, 65. a little bit above on both. it looks like good to go. high pressure nosing in. all the way, in fact, so strong it's producing wind warnings down in southern california. high fire danger as well. a tiny bit of fog in the valley. it does not look like a big issue. sacramento valley looks good. a lot of dry air. cool air plunging down south. out ahead of this, therein lies the travel issue. it looks like a nor'easter could be brewing. wednesday looks like it could be a dicey day for travel to the northeast. great lakes as well dealing with the rain and snow. it's 61 in buffalo. but dumbing down out of the north because -- coming down out of the north because high pressure is coming out, maybe canada could get a lot of snow.
