now. we don't have nothing against anybody protesting. we are just trying to, you know, stay in business here. we don't need no damage to our business. >> once again, oakland business owners are assessing damage this morning after stores were vandalized by an out-of-control mob last night. here is a live look at some of the aftermath. tara moriarty is there. she's been checking out the damage and talking with business owners all morning. coming up in minutes, she will tell us what protesters stole and used to create a huge mess and we've learned what the protesters plan to do next. good morning. welcome to "mornings on 2." i'm tori campbell. >> good morning. >> good morning. i'm dave clark. let's talk about your weather and traffic. steve's here. you are thinking a warmer -- >> today will be warm. >> today will be warm. >> travel issues back east.

not here. there is a little bit of the patchy fog. cold for some. mild for others. the first of what looks to be a couple of systems inching closer. this one will fall apart. this will increase the westerly breeze. start to work in higher crowds -- clouds. there will be an increase in the fog tomorrow and also some high cloudy. maybe partly cloudies. it will stay dry. everything changes a -- dash changes as we head to friday. it will be sunny, hazy, nice today. 7 in bismarck. 30s in new orleans. 22 chicago. all eyes are on new york city, boston, washington, northeast. it looks like mainly a cold rain. it's close. there's snow around. that's what the main source of the travel delays are.

[laughter] >> i mean, you said yourself that los angeles was gonna be 84. >> 84. >> 84 degrees. people talk about this all over the country. >> yes, they do. let's take a look at what we have now. so far there's one thing that's going on that is not good but the rest of the commute is good. the northbound 101 at yolanda avenue, there is an injury accident blocking two lanes. sig-alert. a deadly crash where a pedestrian was hit. southbound is the commute

direction. it's not too bad. today we're getting a little bit of a break. it's lighter than unusual. it's always sad to hear when someone loses their life on the freeway. the chp will be out there until 7:45 trying to investigate and clear that up. this is a look at the bay bridge. that's cleared up westbound as you come up into san francisco. it is clear. again, today we're not going to see a lot of slow traffic getting into work at least. it might be a getaway commute but not right now when it comes to getting into work. 880 northbound and southbound, the traffic here is looking good. 7:04. back to the desk. >> thank you, sal. we have continuing coverage of the damage left behind after a second night of protests in downtown oakland. multiple businesses were vandalized as people once again marched onto the freeway and set a small number of fires. tara moriarty is in the downtown area talking to some of the people whose businesses are boarded under this morning.

good morning, tara. >> reporter: garming. we're on 42nd and telegraph. this is the kelly moore paint store. all. windows have been boarded up because they were snashed in -- smashed inside. there's paint all over the floor. protesters stole gallons of paint and came out here on the street. they pilled it everywhere -- spimed it every -- spilled it everywhere. witnesses tried to break into businesses. cleaning crews have been up all night sleeping up glass, washing off graffiti and boarding up businesses. businesses along telegraph received the brunt of rioters, including a t-mobile store, a subway and mcdonald's. a mom and pop cafe, bike shop and landmark deli were also targeted. we spoke to the deli's general manager who says that looters broke a window and then took what food they could. >> for them to damage people's property and businesses it's senseless. it just shows you how smart some of us are and how un.

like i said, it's -- it won't get up nowhere. it won't solve anything. >> reporter: around 9:30 last night, protesters lit fireworks at west macarthur and telegraph. police deployed grash bang grenades -- flash bang grenades. police grenades. this is the second night of such protests. businesses are bracing for another night tonight. they will be back on the clock at 10:00 tonight for any more cleanup that might be necessary. live from oakland, i'm tara moriarty, ktvu channel 2 news. >> all right. we'll check back for an update. thank you. at one point, during the night, protesters formed a wall of fire near 40th and telegraph. according to reports on twitter, they grabbed garbage cans to start the fire and used

trash to keep it going. several dumpsters were set on fire in other parts of the downtown area. but there were no reports of injuries or major damage from these fires. and for the second night in a row, protesters blocked traffic on interstate 580 just before 9:00, they entered the freeway by jumping a fence behind a walgreens at 34 nth and telegraph. about 200 people made it up the onramp blocking cars in both directions. chp made several arrests and were able to quickly clear the freeway. 7:07. now we're hearing from the police officer who shot and killed michael brown in ferguson, missouri. officer darren wilson says he did it because he feared for his life. >> can i shoot this goo i? legally, can i? and the question i answered myself was, i have to. if i don't, he can kill me. >> officer wilson said his confrontation started when he

saw brown walking down the middle of the street. he said he asked brown to move over. but brown refused the. then came a struggle where wilson says brown repeatedly punched him while wilson was still in his police car. >> i reached out my window of my right hand to grab onto his forearm. i felt the immense power that he had. the way i described it, it was like a 5-year-old hulk hogan. that's how big this man was. >> officer wilsonson feared brown was -- wilson feared brown was try to take his gun and he has a clear conscience because he knows he did his job right. this was the first time he used his gun. >> michael brown's father says the testimony is disrespect

fingerprint. the body of a 20-year-old man was found inside a car yesterday morning near the apartment complex where michael brown was shot and killed. relatives of the 20-year-old say he -- his death was connected to the demonstrations. however, they do not know specifically how he died. last night's demonstration was not as widespread as monday's. but police still arrested 44 people last night of a tripping the number of security forces. despite the larger security presence, there were pockets of violence. a group of people first tried to flip over a police car parked outside of ferguson city hall. when that did not work, they set the car on fire. police also showed off some of the objects that demonstrators hurled at them. there were water and soft drink bottles, aerosol cans, police in ferguson, say they are changing their tactics following the widespread violence that caught some police by surprise monday night. >> we could have never imagined

busy travel day. cara lui joining us looive from sfo to tell us how -- us live from sfo to tell us how the weather back east is causing big delays. >> reporter: good morning. you said it just right. there's been quite a bit of pickup as to the traffic here at terminal 2. this is the virgin america terminal. we're seeing quite a few people getting read why i to travel to some colder climate. but the day before thanksgiving is one of the busiest travel days of the year. the this this airport anticipating more than 130,000 passengers in and out of here throughout the day. joining us this morning is doug yagle. >> the spokesperson here at san francisco international. tell us about the delays we're seeing so far as far as what folks might anticipate throughout the day. >> for travelers in particular going to the northeast, good day to stay in touch with your airline. we're seeing weather related

delays. the delays run anywhere from 90 minutes to three hours. always a good idea to check with your airline before coming out airport to ver fire the status of your flight. we have been looking at websites. we're seeing a lot of airlines are offering customers the opportunity to rebook, to change their itinerary within a short window of time without having to pay a change fee. >> reporter: you're duty mercks were reporting a 189-minute delay in and out of la guardia. is that still true? >> that's true. it doesn't directly asupply to sfo as we don't have nonstop flights to la guardia. we do have 17 flights a day to newark and philadelphia. those are the ones affecting us. >> reporter: tips. >> its always good to allow extra time even if you travel regularly, even if you know how long it takes to get through the process. allow extra time. keep in mind, there are still

we're waiting for the alameda county coroner's office to identify a man who was shot to death on a popular hiking trail in the oakland hills. a hiker reported hearing gunfire yesterday afternoon in the huckle berylry botanic rejoinal plea serve. moments later, she found the man's body on the trail. investigators worked into the night looking for clues to the deadly shooting. >> heard multiple gunshots and shortly thereafter came upon a white male in his -- it appears to be in his 50s deceased on the trail. >> investigators searched a car that was parked in a lot three quarters of a mile from where

the body was found. they did not say if they found anything in the car. police also called in k-9 units to help with their investigation. ub police -- uc berkeley police are investigating a case of sexual battery at a dorm. an 18-year-old female student was followed into griffin hall by someone she did not know. the man reached under her skirt and grabbed her while the fro -- two were in a stair well. he ran away. police searched the area but could not find him. he's described as an african- american in his 20s, 6 feet tall with a thin to medium build. he had dreadlocks and was wearing a red ban dan nonwith a dark hooded sweatshirt. if he information -- if you have any information, call university police. happening today, the salvation army holds its annual turkey carving event in san francisco. mayor lee is one of the celebrity carvers, he will be joined by joanne hayes-white and greig suhr.

the police and fire departments will help them carve 4,000 pounds of the turkie. it's all part of the fresh meals delivered to people who can't leave their homes to get a thanksgiving meal. well, this is a lucky day for one turkey. one of the turkeys we're about to show you, one of them will be officially named the national thanksgiving turkey and will get a presidential pardon saving it from being the centerpiece of somebody's thanksgiving meal. two birds will be part of the ceremony at the white house. the second turkey, that's considered the runner-up. both will be taken to a park in virginia where they will live out their natural lives. a california family living near fresno is being singled out on national television for having one of the best christmas light displays in the country. ♪ >> for the couple and their four boys, deck kateing is a

usual. sometimes you might be tempted to kind of be a lead foot. doesn't do that. chp does maximum enforcement over the holiday weekends. it's light. tomorrow is thanksgiving. some people have the day off already. this is a look now at the san mateo bridge and traffic is moving along okay as you drive across to the peninsula. still have the deadly crash northbound 101 at yolanda avenue in santa rosa. they are clearing it from the freeway but it will be longer. the only good thing is it didn't happen on a day, a normal commute day. but sadly, someone has died in the crash. it will take a little bit for them to clear it. northbound 101 at yolanda avenue. the lanes are affected southbound. not affected but you might see slowing. let's go to steve and today's forecast looks good. looks very nice today and also into most of tomorrow. it will stay dry. we're not looking for any rain until late friday or saturday. sunshine, some patchy fog out

there. not a lot. but a little bit. santa rosa, concord, oakley, if you have some or you see some, you can tweet me or send me a message on facebook. yesterday, the barometric pressure -- it's still very high but yesterday the barometric pressure depending upon where you are in the bay area, was 30, 45, 30. inches of mesh mercury. if -- inches of mercury. if you had a headache, that might explain it. even i had a headache and i don't get those. it's less today but still strong. patchy fog, high clouds tomorrow. we'll start to see changes. first what will be a couple of systems now moving into the picture. it's lifting northward. it's running into very stubborn high pressure. we're used to that. but it will start to give us higher clouds and turn the breeze westerly. it's still easterly coming off the caldecott. san francisco, starting off today, 54 and then we'll go for

67. average is 49, 60. i will tell you, the low temp has been up, up, up since june. high tell. still running above average. 41, 1919, the record low. downtown oakland has been very warm thanks to the offshore breeze coming off the oakland berkeley hills. 74 for a high today. and san jose will be nice. not that warm. but still pretty warm. we'll about 72. i think they dipped to 42, 43 this morning. it looks good except for some of the patchy fog. as the,gets closer. it will start to turn some of the fog closer to us. it's cold for many. i mean from the northern plains and the great lakes all the way. new orleans was 39. the keat is down in the deep south. also the carolinas and up to the northeast. it's a fine line. i will tell you. but it's very close for boston, new york, harvard, also into washington. so far it looks like a cold, cold rain. some slush. that's the main source of the travel issues. even some freezing rain in the deep south. we're good to go if you are heading down to l.a., 84 degrees down in los angeles.

30s, 40s and 50s on the temps. sfo was 57. they had a northerly breeze. it looks likes that's relaxed. angwin, 1700 feet. 5 1. sacramento, 39. redding 38. nice today but then we'll start to focus our attention on this system which will give us clouds. if rain falls, i think it will slow down. we have to knock the high pressure out of here. more likely saturday morning. you can see starting to develop to the north by friday afternoon and then into saturday. the timing is always a little tough. forecast models again want to slow everything down which makes sense with the strong high pressure over us. by friday, the clouds roll in. late friday into saturday we start to bring some rain in here. saufrt -- saturday looks like the rain day. the bigger system doesn't look like until monday. sunshine, mild to warm. 60s to spent on the temperatures. it will probably be the warmest day of the week.

up. here is sal with an update on the traffic. all right. we to have a new crash -- do have a new crash reported on fremont freeways. this is a troubling thing we found out. southbound 880 at mowry avenue. it's a motorcycle crash and there were reports that a dark blue tesla was driving recklessly prior to this crash. the chp is getting reports that this tesla just basically darted across all of the lanes. cut off the motorcyclist, motorcyclist is now injured in the lanes there and chp is taking reports trying to find this responsible driver. soap it is a hit and run -- so it is a hit and run. we also have a deadly crash on northbound 101 at yolanda and santa rosa. this was a pedestrian that was sit by a vehicle there and they are still clearing it. it happened about an hour ago now. out to the live picture, it's nice and light at the bay bridge toll plaza, the traffic is moving along okay. and in san jose, northbound 280

looks good. just had report of a crash on highway 87 onramp to northbound 101. an injury accident has been reported and now the fire department and medics are on the way. 7:33. back to the desk. new this morning in san francisco, six people shot last night outside of a busy nightclub in the mission district. at least two of them have life- threatening injuries. witnesses are describing a very chaotic scene. terrified people and shooting victims scattered across the ground. alex savidge is at the brick and mortar music hall where the shots were fired. >> reporter: this had to be, as you can imagine, a frightening, situation for the people here at the brick and mortar music hall. they came here for a hip-hop concert. right as the show was ending, early this morning, there was someone who opened fire fire outside of the club. the shooting happened around 12:45. there were quite a view victims. six people hit by gunfire

outside of this club on mission street right at 13th street. six people, hit two of them we understand have life- threatening injuries. according to police. four of those victims were tangen to the hospital by paramedics who came here but there were two other people, additional victims who showed up at the hospital themselves. drove themselves there or had someone drive them there. a witness who was here at the show this morning and witnessed the shooting says when the gunfire started concertgoers started running for cover. many ducked back inside the club. >> i'm talking mayhem. everybody is rushing. it was like a bull coming and rush everybody out and then we walked out. and then all of a sudden, you hear everybody say go back in! go back in! so we run back. it wasn't good. >> reporter: last night's show featured two san francisco wrappers. it's unclear if the shooter or shooters were in attendance at

that concert or if they showed you up at the club. san francisco police still investigating. they do say all of the victims at last check are still alive and being treated at various hospitals including san francisco general and the search still on this morning for the people responsible for shooting. we're live this morning in san francisco, alex savidge, ktvu channel 2 news. >> all right. thank you. new this morning, two fbi agents were shot just five miles south of ferguson, missouri. however, the fbi says the shooting was not related to the ferguson protests. the agents were wounded while helping to arrest a man suspected of killing his mother and injuring a police officer. one fbi agent was shot in the shoulder while the other was hit in the leg. both are expected to be okay. 20 minutes ago, the fbi announced that the shooting may have been an tempt by the suspect to exwhit suicide by forcing officers to shoot and kill him. 7:36.

the man accused in the hit-and- run death of a 14-year-old boy in the east bay, he's due to be in court this morning. 34-sunny joseph anderson expected to enter a plea to charges of murder, hit and run and evading arrest. those charges were all tied to the hit and run that killed 14- year-old ivan cruz near san leandro two weeks ago. anderson has a long criminal history that includes contribution convictions for the brutal beating of an elderly woman as well as animal abuse. well, students who are protesting tuition hikes at uc schools will put their demonstration on hold. last wednesday night, student protesters took over wheeler hall on the uc berkeley campus. a few dozen demonstrators have camped the that building for the past week. yesterday, they voted to end the occupation for the thanksgiving hoyle break. they say they will go back to wheeler hall when classes resume on monday. the city of santa clara is moving ahead with plans to pay

for several super bowl l events even though san francisco is the official host city. knew, last night, the is -- now, last night, the city council approved the plan to put aside $2 million. the events include a parade, as well pass a fireworks, -- fire woks extravaganza. many are worried tax payers may foot the hill. >> if we need $2 million to hold a parade, we should not be covering it. >> i think it's a win-win for everyone especially if we can raises money. that's the intention to raise the money to pay the city back but we into ed to get this moving. >> supporters of the plan say they are confident they can raise the private money to pay for the super bowl events in santa clara. happening now, you may look at the shoppers that camp out

in front of stores like best buy kind of crazy for doing that. believe it or not, some of the people who do it, say it's a fun tradition. brian flores is live in front of the best buy store in emeryville where it looks like a bit of a campground out there. good morning, brian. >> reporter: it seems to get earlier and earlier every year. good morning. we're live here at the best buy here in emeryville. there are about six tents out there. i'm not sure how many people are in the tents. but there are six tents here this morning. several people say they've been here since monday earlier this week to get the best deals coming up here on thanksgiving. and even on black friday. some retailers are calling it gray thursday. not sitting well with many people as well saying many workers should have the day off. but if people are excited to go shopping on thursday, they are here. and some deals online, you may want to reconsider coming to a store as well. now, a tweet sent out by target promoted sales already before thanksgiving and black friday

started. ipads, headphones and some tvs are already out of stock, meaning for some shoppers they may have to come to the brick and mortar store. according to the natural retail federation, 26 million americans are expected to shop on thanksgiving. more than 90 million on plaque friday. here in emeryville, some people have been here since monday. they say even though there may be better deals yl, they say it's all about getting the item and seeing it first. >> when you are not computer savvy, you miss out. this is what helps you. i know if i get in line and i stand there, i can get what i want. i know i'm getting what i want. when the -- >> i like to see it. i gotta see it. mail it in is not what i like to do. >> reporter: they say they will get what they want.

welcome back. as brian mentioned, millions of americans expected to go online for the holiday deals. cybersecurity, a big concern. jeff, people know you as norton. talk about keeping the identity safe. it's concerning last year, it all kicked off black friday with the big security breach at target. are things better this year? >> regardless of the year, security and priv sip are always on people's mind. there's basic tips that you can take as a consumer to make sure that you stay safe when shopping online this holiday season. >> i know we'll go over those tips. we're kind of surprised. i didn't think about this as a secure piece of advice but make sure your software is up to date. >> right. most shopping is done online through your web browsers. they like to push out updates to make sure your web browser is up to date at all times. they will remind you of these updates. keep it up to date.

web browsers will keep you secure as you are moving through any site. >> and you talk about a safe website, secured website. how do you make sure the website is secured? >> there's visual cues that we use in the industry called trust indicators. for example, when you go to a site, we show that -- when you look at a bbs, normally we begin with wwww. to the left of it, pay attention to what code goes to the left. you want to look for https. s means it's secure. any information that you are typing in like your name, your payment information or your phone number is secure. nobody can see that between when you type it in and when it gets to the website. >> all right. https is important. there's sometimes when the address bar itself will turn green or certain words will turn green, those are important. that's like https on steroids.

the morning. southbound 880, an earlier crash at mowry has been cleared. traffic is beginning to unwind. back to the desk. thank you, sal. we have continues coverage this morning of the second night of ferguson-related protests in oakland. several businesses were vandalize -- vandalized. traffic was stopped on eastbound 580 and several small fires were set. tara moriarty is in the downtown area now with more on the damage there. good morning, tara. >> reporter: we're here on 40th and telegraph. this is where hundreds of protesters marched through last night. they set fire to these trash bins as you can see right here. also across the street, there is a car dealership. they broke some windows. they are boarded up now. to the left, there is a subway store. you can see the windows are boarded up there. most of the cleanup has already happened but, of course, there are dozens of windows that are going to have to be replaced. cleaning crews have been cleaning up all night, sweeping

up glass, washing off graffiti and boarding up businesses. businesses along telegraph between 43rd and 51st received the brunt of rioters including a t-mobile store. a subway and mcdonald's. a mom and pop cafe, bike shop and landmark deli were targeted. looters there broke a window and took what food they could. the owner of the cafe said protesters came to his shop after stealing paint from the kelly moore store. >> they were walking down the street with a gallon of paint in each hand and threw them through the windows. >> reporter: through the galvestonens of paint and it -- gallons of paint and it went on the floor. >> yes. >> reporter: this is what you've been cleaning up? >> pretty much. >> reporter: now, around 9:30, protesters lit fireworks at west macarthur and telegraph. on market between 5 ath and

telegraph, several created trash bins to set them on fire to keep police away. this is the second night of protests. businesses are bracing for another round. live from oakland, i'm tara moriarty, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you. 8:04. at one point, during the night, protesters formed a wall of fire near 40th and telegraph. according to reports on twitter, they dragged garbage cans from around the neighborhood to start the fire and used trash to keep it going and several dumpsters were also set on fire in other parts of the downtown area. tara just showed us one that was burned. there were no reports of injuries or major damage from the fires. for the second night in a row, protesters blocked traffic. this is on interstate 580 like they did the night before just before 9:00. some folks entered the freeway by jumping a fence behind a walgreens at 44 44th and telegraph.

200 people blocked cars in both directions. the chp made several arrests and were able to quickly clear the freeway. we're now hearing from the police officer who shot and killed michael brown in ferguson, missouri. officer darren wilson says he did it because he feared for his life. >> can i shoot this guy? legally, can i? and the question i answered myself was, i have to. if i don't, he will kill me if he gets to me. >> officer wilson said the confrontation with michael brown back in august started when he saw brown walking down the middle of the street. he said he asked brown to move over but brown refused. then came a struggle. wilson says brown repeatedly punched him while officer wilson was still in his police car. >> i reached out my window to grab onto his forearm i was gonna try to move him back to where i'm no longer trap. i felt the immense pour.

it was like a hulk hogueen. >> wilson said he feared michael brown was trying to take his gun. he says he has a clean conscience been shooting because he says he -- about the shooting because he knows he did his job right. thises whats first time he everruressed the gun. michael brown's mother is irate over that wilson interview. she told a news crew this morning, she does not believe a word the police officer says. her comments come after a second straight day of violent protests in ferguson, missouri. 45 people were arrested last night. police say the violence such as looting was not as widespread as monday night. however, we received word that ferguson police are investigating the death of a 20- year-old man whose body was found in a car. relatives are not saying why. but they do believe it's related to the protest. there's a growing movement especially on social media to honor michael brown by boycotting black friday.

there are hashtags such as not one dime and blackout black friday. police are showing some of the objects that demonstrators hurled at them friday night. there were water and soft drink bottles, aur row school -- aerosol cans. >> we could have never imagined that. i think we're there where we need to be. we'll continue to get better at is i think now we all understand what we need to do to make this community safer. i think we're all on the same page. >> on monday night, people if ferguson, fired at least 150 gunshots and burnted a dozen businesses. some merchants are criticizing the police response and also wondering why prosecutors waited until nighttime to announce the grand jury's decision. but a crowd control expert says announcing the decision during the day would have endangered more lives because children were still in school and many

cara lui joins us live from sfo to tell us about the weather problems back east causing big delays on this day before thanksgiving. >> reporter: well, good morning, dave. traffic is gradually picking up here at sfo. this is a look at the vir yin virgin america counter. things have been going pretty smoothly. as for security, the lines at the security checkpoint at terminal 2 have been relatively shortant moving smoothly every time we've checked. the but the airport expected to get busier. sfo is reporting travel delays due to the nor'easter. philadelphia delays are averaging 103 minutes. three flights to newark are delayed. anywhere between 30 and 150 minutes. there are significant delays in and out of new york's la guardia airport that imparks mostly connecting flights. we did talk to one local family headed to chicago for

starting today the california highway starting its maximum highway patrols. thanksgiving weekend is one of the busy travel periods of the year. officers will be looking for speeders or people driving under the influence. last year, 33 people were killed on california highways during the extended holiday period. chp will be out in full force starting at 6:00 tonight and through all of sunday night. you know, sal mentioned -- sal has been doing traffic for a few years. >> a few years. >> you do mention that the thing is it's tricky because traffic is light.

travel report. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. >> now, o'hare, what is it like out there? we have a lot to talk about. people who want to get around the country. a lot of the foe discuss is what's happening -- forecuss is what's happening in your area. >> reporter: here in o'hare, things have been moving along pretty smooth little. lines here started to get busy as early as 4:00 a.m. we haven't seen major delays or cancellations. we're seeing ripple effects from the eastern seaboard destinations where they are seeing major delays. right now across the country we're seeing over 600 cancellations for flights throughout the day. most of them will be later this afternoon. and most of them will be on the east coast. but we do expect to see some major ripple effects later today, already in the new york metro area they are seeing three-hour delays. >> talk about the east coast. what's being hit and affected by delays and bad weather?

to scoring a bargain. stay tuned. thank you for joining us. i'm dave clark. let's talk about weather and traffic. steve paulson is here watching everything. i'm. >> i am. there could be a lot of rain early next week. we -- we've had a long time of dry weather. but there are signs of very heavy rain coming in. but probably not until sunday, monday, tuesday. today, tomorrow we're fine. patchy fog for thanksgiving. we had a little bit today. and then some higher clouds begin to work their way in. there's a few up to the north bay. a little bit of the fog out towards concord. here is the first of what could be many systems running into a very strong area of high pressure for those who follow it. it's been through the roof the last couple of days. it's come down a little bit. it was about 30, 48, still around 30, 33. we have a little ways to go before we nudge it out of the picture. there is still an easterly breeze. some of that fog right there. that will play into the

weather. be advised by that. today, hazy sunshine. a few high clouds to the north overall, 30s, 40s and 50s. some area on the mild side. all signs point to a change developing late friday into saturday. it will start in the north bay, everything is fine for thanksgiving. but then by friday, watch how some of this rain moves in. i think it will be delayed. it's a sign of a pattern change. it's 48 hours out. cold morning, sunny, patchy fog near 70 for a few with an easterly breeze. where am i going? i don't know. where am i going? 60s and also 70s. sal, you know the tents outside best bay. it reminds me of the days i lined up at winterland. >> one time i stood in line for a long time for prince tickets. i understand. i feel their pain. >> i do, too. >> i do feel their pain.

>> i do, too. let's take a look at the commute. the traffic looks very good here on 880. it's a very nice drive all the wait up to downtown oakland. it's obvious we're having a different day on the wednesday before thanksgiving when you look at the bay bridge toll plaza and it's light like this. we're also looking at an earlier crash in fremont that was cleared. and traffic is recovering. a little bit of stop and go traffic heading south through union city. back to the desk. all right. new this morning in san francisco, six people were shot last night outside of a busy nightclub in the mission district. at least two of them have life- threatening injuries. witnesses already describing a chaotic scene. terrified people and shooting victims scattered across the ground. alex savidge reports from the brick and mortar music call where the shots were fired. >> reporter: the gunfire followed a hip-hop concert at the music hall in san francisco. the show was just finishing early in morning. people were beginning to leave

the club when someone opened fire. a lot of pope tension witnesses on top -- potential witnesses. on top of that, there are surveillance cameras. it happened around 12:45 at this club on mission street at 13th street. police say a total of six people were hit pie gunfire, two of them -- hit by gunfire. two of them have life- threatening injuries. four victims were tangen to the hospital by paramedics while two others showed up at local hops. one witness said when the gunfire started, many concertgoers ran for cover. some ducked back inside the club. one man we talked with didn't want to show his face or be identified. >> everybody started to run. mayhem everywhere. it was -- it wasn't a good situation. >> reporter: hast night's show featured two san francisco rappers. it's unclear if the shooter or the shooters were in attendance

at the concert or showed up at the club and opened fire. all six victims are still alive and being treated at various hospitals at last check. san francisco police are still searching for the people responsible. in san francisco, alex savidge, ktvu channel 2 news. we're waiting for the alameda county sheriff to identify an individual shot. a man's body was found on the trail. investigators worked into the night looking for clues to this deadly shooting. >> heard multiple gunshots. and shoately thereafter came upon -- shortly thereafter came upon a white meal, in his 50s, deceased on the trail. investigators searched a car that was parked in a lot about three miles away from where the body was found.

they say they didn't find anything in the car. police also called in k-9 units to help with that investigation. 8:35. students protesting tuition hikes at uc berkeley say they are taking a break over the thanksgiving holiday week. a group of students and scmun tip activists took over wheeler hall on the uc berkeley campus last wednesday night. a few dozen protesters have remained there since. but yesterday they voted to end the okay bakes during the -- ork bakes break. they will -- occupation break. they will return to wheeler hall after the break. the city of santa clara is moving ahead with plans to pay for super bowl l. last night, the santa clara city council approved the controversial plan to put aside $2 million to host their own events before super bowl l at levi stadium in 2016. the events include a parade and a fireworks extrav gan down down great america parkway.

but many people in santa clara are worried tax payers will be stuck with the bill. >> if we need to have $2 million to hold a parade on great america parkway, then the host commit tee should be covering it or the 49ers. but not us. >> i think it's a win-win for everyone especially if we can raise the money. that's our intention. we need to get this moving. >> the supporters of the plan say they are confident they did raise the private money to pay for the super bowl events in santa clara. it's that time of year we're talking about thanksgiving. but for some it's about camping out at some big box stores hoping to get door buster deals. brian flores is live in front of the best buy store in emeryville where some people have camped out since earlier this week. that's pretty determined. >> reporter: very determined. dave mentioned earlier, me shopping? no, i've been doing my job. pop up here. but not here. a little bit in the north bay. more so out towards oakley and brent word, concord. there -- brent wood, concord. offshore breeze still with us. coast will be beautiful. patchy fog, high clouds for your thanksgiving as the,gets closer. it's already spinning in a few high clouds up near the oregon border. it will increase the breeze and flip that around. watch how the low clouds try, try try. we're getting an easternly breeze from bodega bay to santa cruz. it will be spell splt on the coast. changes are looming. high pressure still very strong over us. 30s, 40s and 50s on the temps. the pattern is slowly changing. it looks good today and thursday and probably most of friday as we begin to cloud it up but then the rainfall begins. the timing on these might slow it down. it's tough to budge this strong of a high pressure. some of the projections on rainfall through the next seven days approach 7, 8 inches.
