caltrans is threatening to fine the main bay bridge contactor for work that was supposed to be completed by the end of this day. when the opened on labor day, some work was still left to be done. the work was supposed to be complete by the end of 2014 and now caltrans is threatening to fine $25,000 a day. the investigation into the crash of air asia was solved today -- stalled by rough weather. so far the bodies of 7 people have been recovered out of the 162 on board. two of the bodies have now been returned to indonesia. >> coffins holding two victims of the air asia plane crash

complete bay area news coverage continues right now, this is ktvu channel 2 news at 5:00 p.m. they happen down there and there she was with one of the suspects. 17-year-old forced into prostitution found far from home in san rafael. a text from the teen led to her rescue. ktvu's mike mibach tells us just last month a 16-year-old girl from out of state was also

rescued. >> reporter: inside police headquarters there was a phone call. >> we were contacted by the fbi. >> he says the agent was very specific. >> information there was a juvenile who was texting their parents saying she was forced into prostitution. >> the 17-year-old victim texted on her phone how she was too scared to run away, saying they might hurt me. the victim and her captors were in the caw nal. after -- canal. after striking out police moved the investigation west into the downtown area. and within hours they found what they were looking for. >> one of our common areas is the transit center. >> reporter: officers immediately began toscan the -- to scan the center. . >> there she was. we separated both parties. got the victim by herself. she immediately said thank you.

[ indiscernible ] >> he is held without bail and set to appear in court on january 8. flight out of san francisco to minneapolis was diverted so a passenger could make a special delivery. it landed after a passenger went into labor. the airline says the woman was lucky a doctor on board helped her out. she was taken to the hospital where she gave birth and the baby is doing fine. restaurant that was damaged in a fire is set to reopen. it is serving a special new year's eve dinner tonight and is expected to resume full service on friday. it has taken six months to restore the restaurant. the fire happened in july and caused $240,000 in damage. the fire began in a trash can

tense moments in las vegas. a police helicopter crashed into a residential neighborhood. two police officers were hurt and taken to the hospital but their injuries are not life threatening. police do not think anyone on the ground was hurt. the helicopter is one of five operated by the las vegas police department. tonight people going out for new year's eve will have more transit choices especially if they be been drinking. ktvu's tom vacar tells us how competition is effecting prices. >> reporter: tonight public transit will be free from 8:00
