[ music ] [ shots fired ] >> this video posted captured the moments. the nightclub was packed with people there to see chris brown perform. all of the victims are expected to be okay. the shooting happened that fiesta nightclub san jose where ktvu's azenith smith is. there have been no arrests but what else can you tell us? >> reporter: we understand several people were detained but litself known about the -- litself known about the shoot -- little is know about the

shooting, you don't know what is going on. you have to go down. >> reporter: when police got there they found four people shot. they were rushed to the helmet. a fifth -- hospital. a fifth victim walked into the hospital later. >> worried about losing my friends that i was with and i just -- just my first thought was get out. hope i don't get hit. >> she paid $44 for her ticket. she questions why there weren't metdletectors or more -- metal detectors or more security. >> i don't know how someone could get in there. >> reporter: the venue changed last minute to the fiesta nightclub san jose for capacity reasons. attempts to reach the owner and

promoters were not returned. police say the shooting is still under investigation. the circumstances and motive are unknown at this time. and brown is scheduled to be back in march for a concert. >> when you see that video, such terror. thank you for the report. crews are working to complete the median barrier addition on the golden gate bridge. we are on the last day of the closure and officials are marking the transformation. >> a ribbon cutting ceremony took place on the bridge this morning. once it is opened drivers will see a long awaited movable barrier to prevent head on collisions. ktvu's katy eustis is live with an update on the progress and why it means so much for those who travel the bridge. >> reporter: within the last hour leaders said the bridge will open on time and possibly earlier and this is all about

safety. there have been more than 100 head on collision in the last several decades. 16 were deaths, which is why it is so important. a survivor spoke out and thanked everyone involved. >> many conditions can be changed and could have prevented the accident. the median barrier being the one we are celebrating today. >> reporter: she has permanent disabilities following a collision where a man passed out and crossed the center lane and struck out in 2008 and several months later they allotted the movie for the movable median berrian project. today tay -- barrier project. today they finished installing it. engineers expect it to open tomorrow morning. >> monday morning i amoping

everyone goes -- i am hoping everyone goes slow. >> reporter: while the bridge is still closed crews are working on the task of manually removing the existing sleeves that held the movable pylons. they are pulling out 15,000 with a tool described as a pick. they have obe careful -- to be careful not odamage the surface -- to damage the service. >> filling them in so the road will be smooth and it will keep on going. >> reporter: if they don't get them removed tonight the bridge will still reopen but it may mean lane closures to complete the work. tonight they are working on striping work and the bridge is scheduled to be open on time and possibly earlier. >> in the past caltrans has given times when the bridge

happening in the future. fox news. >> coming up at 5:30 p.m. how people in the bay area honored the victims of the paris terrorist attacks. . 2500 kaiser mental health workers will walk off the job tomorrow. they say understaffing keeps patients waiting several weeks to get an appointment, putting them at risk. kaiser said we are committed to continuing to bargain whenever and wherever possible to avoid a strike. and we are urging employees to resist the call to leave members and patients for this strike. tomorrow's planned strike is ahead of a nurse's strike that is scheduled for january 21 and 22. relief on the way. victims of last month's storms will see more help this week.

. a san jose world war ii veteran who made headlines for cheering on runners has died. he died on thursday at the age of 95. you remember this, he gained attention for he stood in uniform to encourage those taking part in the run. dozens of runners slowed down and shook his hand and thanked him for his service. bell was an army corporal. the family says the attention he received energized him. a memorial is planned for next
