it's a whale mugging. it's not illegal but it's pretty incredible. this happened in the pineninsula in southern california. a family of orcas, four of them mom, star bumper owe ryan and comet. >> we know this because whales are tracked. eric martin the co-director of the roundhouse marine sciences lab, he his son coddy, another guy, danny, said we think orcas are out there. they're out in a ten-foot dinky they call the bathtub. whales decided, hey, let's mug them. mugging is marine terminology, a whale comes up to your boat and lets you listen to what went down. >> oh my god! >> that's so cool! >> back and forth.

this is going to sound really really strange, but this group of orcas loves the contact. i don't know if it the xatment of the people or what but when we first came up on them i saw what group it was, i go get your cameras ready, this is going to be very interesting. it really was. and it's going to go down as my number one encounter with wild killer whales. >> keep your eyes on the road at all times. you never know what is going to show up right in front of you. this first case the truck has one prisoner in it and this car is following. >> done look like a secure prison. >> guys don't escape. promise. >> okay. >> but do you see what's happening there? >> oh. >> yeah. that prisoner decided to make a run for it. >> it's an animal! >> oh!

greg things look like they're going really well.. you see greg pull over to the side to this ridge area and see him turn his head around and look back and this is what greg's seeing. greg told us he was suspicious about the stability of this mountain and as he started that snowboard down that hill he heard a pop, and he thought that might be the snow cracking above him. he's really aware of what he's doing, and he told us he did have on one of the air bags so if it happened again he dould deploy the air bag and deploy properly. >> another video quite similar. this time though the folks are snowmobiling. watch what happens. you can barely see the snowmobiler in the middle of the screen. there's a fog smear on the camera lens. watch. he gets carried down what starts out as small avalanche but suddenly he disappears. listen to the guy with the camera.

angles. right here video flips. this is where they're head up. the reason why they tried this they said doing a head-up is one of the more difficult ways to fly with your body in the sky. looked like they're levitating. funny position isn't it for them to be in used to like the flying position. these guys are all lunging. >> and guess what they do? they set a world record. to qualify for the record they had to tell judges what the formation would be they had to jump build the formation, each one had to be in the spot that they had planned to be in and they had to hold that position for one second. >> this is scenario though you hope one of these guys didn't oversell their abilities. >> oh yeah i can fly in the heads up position no problem, and he's like right in the middle crashing things out. >> spent three days and did 12 skydives to get this one built and they did it.
