straining order now in place. >> he told police he did nothing wrong. he was trying to simply hook up with a girl. this is video of a sanford freshman. he is heading into the courthouse. inside the courtroom he pleaded not guilty to raping a woman who police say was half naked, unconscious and drunk outside the fraternity house. turner now lives back with family in ohio after dropping out of stanford following accusations. if a judge denied if request he be at every court appearance. they sabras it is a pry toty case turner needed to be there for things to move swiftly. speaking to the media the deputy district attorney praised and thanked them who hackinged and pinned turner to the ground. she called them good samaritans who were at the right place at the right time saying they

drug possession, theft date back to the 80s. they say andrews was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. the victim has not been identified. charges may be filed in the case later this week. oakland firefighters battled a fire not once but twice today. firefighters responded to a call on the corner of 105 and san leandro. they got a call that the building was engulfed again in flames. more than 40 were able to prevent the fire from spreading to nearly homes. >> it was just like this big cloud of smoke and/or range flames and water. like i heard it on my window. i was like what's going on? i have never seen nothing like that. >> reporter: it seems sort of suspicious to you?

>> yes. it does. it was out and they leave and they have to come back again, yeah, sort of suspicious. >> the owner says he doesn't have insurance so there's no chance of rebuilding. he also believes the fire could have been intentionally set. arson investigators are looking into it. overall no one was hurt. a san francisco elementary school is back open after a bomb threat. they say a staff member found a threatening note before classes began. both families got the word to keep kids at home. a handful of kids were taken to a near by community center. san francisco police brought in a bomb sniffing dog to make sure the school was safe. it is in the ingleside neighborhood. police immediately responded to the threat. >> they will have the dog sweep the building. if they feel the bomb squad is

necessary the police will make that call. at this point they are taking things one step at a time. >> the school issued the all clear allowing classes to resume. officials say they are hoping to determine who left that note. new recommendations for law enforcement agencies are expected to be released following the shooting death of andy lopez. a task force has been studying law enforcement practices. at the time the deputies thought lopez was carrying an assault rifle. the panel is recommending they establish an independent auditor. there has been a lot of criticism about how officer involved shootings have been handled in the county. three people killed in san jose on sunday have been identified.

the medical examiner says gilbert began st. louisless were killed. they found a red infinity. they uprooted another tree and caught on fire. >> at 2:00 in the morning there is always a good chance alcohol could be involved. speed could be a factor. falling asleep could be something to consider as well. >> they have not determined if alcohol or drugs play add factor in the crash. they asking anyone that saw it at the time of the crash to call the chp. police looking for the people involved in a fight that killed a 24-year-old man. it happened around 3:00 yesterday morning. neighbors tell police they could hear glass breaking and a possible fight in the street. when police arrived they found a 24-year-old man with life threatening injuries. he was later pronounced dead at

hopes of easing overcrowding during the morning rush hour. the new trip took off at 830 . they say it is expected to attract new passengers and bring in $120,000 in revenue for golden gate ferry. it will be tested out over the next 9 months. depending how successful it is it could become permanent. for the first time in 35

years workers are striking at nine oil refineries including here in martinez. the united fuel workers and they are picketing at oil refineries in texas, washington state and kentucky. union representatives say the strike is about more than money. they are also concerned about worker safety, under staffing and worker fatigue. day rejected a fourth contract offer over the weekend. >> the national was willing to continue talking even beyond the midnight deadline. industry walked away and basically left them no option. >> they say gas prices could go up if it goes on. workers plan to picket after the plant has safely shut down. during the strike they continue to ship out what has already been refined. dozens of patients are in

conditions 102 times since 1987. most did not seem too thrilled with the announcement. so far the groundhog day prediction is right on, a massive winter storm is hitting the northeast after slamming the midwest. a foot of snow falling here. more than 2000 flights canceled as people work to clear roads and sidewalks. >> it lets you know winter is definitely here. it is nice know. i guess we are due for some snow. >> reporter: it is bringing more nasty weather to the east coast. boston area residents can see up to 6 to 14 inches. causing day lays for commuters in the area. this was the sixth largest know storm in chicago history. they say it isn't done yet. up next is the northest which is recovering from several feet of snow that fell last week.

fox news. >> that is a lot of snow. the weather has caused more than 3000 flight cancellations across the country today mostly effecting chicago and boston and new york. right here in the bay area travelers are also feeling the impact. we are seeing 46 cancellations. so far four flights are canceled in oakland. spring-like weather in the forecast for another day. as we get outdoors mostly sunny skies turning partly sunny for the afternoon. it is right about where they were yesterday. upper 50s to low 60s at this hour. just a little bit of haze in the sky for the day. we are going to continue for that haze. 62 in livermore. a warmer day for you in concord. it is upper 50s sfo. low 60s san jose.

as we get into the afternoon not a lot of change. tracking a little bit of rain. you can see it actually sliding over northern california. we are going to remain dry at least through about wednesday. we do have rain coming our way. as we get into the afternoon today we have got partly cloudy skies. mostly sunny in some areas. that rain will stick to the north monday and tuesday afternoon. temperatures won't budge a whole lot. still looking at dry weather. by thursday things start to change. take a look at this line of rain just on the north edge. this is going to be the beginning. we are going to see a few days of rain. it will start on thursday and look like it will last into the weekend. partly sunny skies. if mild pattern will continue. ridge of high pressure locked in for the next few days. as we get into thursday, friday, saturday and even into sunday that rain will be with us. as far as rainfall totals could
