i'm tori campbell. some residents are ordered to shelter in place for their own safety. police say a man is threatening to hurt himself. he is align and police say he is armed with a rifle. they are asking people who live in the area to stay inside with doors and windows locked. we are monitoring the situation and we'll bring you more information as we get it.

police investigating a deadly hit-and-run accident. the scene was spread out over a half mile area. ktvu tells us how the police search ended when they found a body. >> a messy scene, twisted metal and car parts were stone across this morning. he had just started his shift and collided with a cadillac. the rear wheel fell off the cadillac but didn't stop the driver from speeding away. officers followed a trail of debris and found it a half mile away on coyote street. >> the officers were able to extinguish ruse using police cars. they found a deceased female in the vehicle. >> reporter: police knocked on doors to see if there were any witnesses. they are trying to piece together what contribute today the accident. at this point they believe the

woman was the driver of the cadillac and foul play is not suspected. >> our traffic investigators by looking at the damage and talking with the other driver hopefully will be able to determine what the cause of the collision was. from that point it's a joint investigation at the coroner's office to determine the extend of her injuries. >> reporter: the driver was told about the woman's death. he is cooperating with police. they say the company has an excellent driving record and crashes are rare. >> our thoughts go out to all of the individuals who were involved in this morning's incident especially our driver. we plan on continuing to assist the authorities in whatever way we can. >> reporter: police don't know why the come ran the scene of the accident. they determined that it was not stolen. the coroner is still working on identifying her. ktvu fox 2 news.

a san francisco man who was arrested in a case of body parts found in a suitcase. he was just released from jail last night. they say there's not enough evidence to file charges against him right now. part of reason is the medical examiner has still not identified the victim or determined the cause of death. >> they haven't indicated that they want him to report or they will be monitoring him in any way. he has no plans to leave san francisco. he will be here. >> a source says police want to determine if body parts were those of who was reported missing and said to be a friend and former roommate of andres. the city's mission district, it happened around 3:30 a.m. at 26th and brian streets. a man was shot standing in

front of a closed coffee shop. he managed to walk to 24th and alabama where officers found him. he was rushed to the hospital and treated for gunshot wounds that are not considered life threatening. investigators say they don't have a lot of information about what lead up to the shooting because the victim is not cooperating with police. after the driest january in the bay area there is finally some rain on the horizon. we let you know when it should arrive and how much we should expect. >> yeah. extreme changes headed this way for the bay area. for today we have lingering clouds and lingering haze. get ready for a more active weather pattern. the moisture plume stretching towards the hawaiian islands. we have strong storms developing within this flow. we will have rain showers develop up in the north bay tomorrow. it is a chance gradually spreading to the south.

that will be for friday. a second one, that's in the sunday forecast. the first storm, the main impact for friday, heavy rainfall already flood watches posted for the north bay. winds will be gusty as well. parts of the north bay could have parts approaching 10 inches. we'll break it down and have more on the second system that will impact part of your weekend forecast. >> thank you. and demolition is underway as crews begin tearing down the former home of the san francisco giants to make way for housing, a hotel and shopping center. brian flores just got one of the last looks inside and joins us live. what does it look like? >> it was a surreal experience. they are taking out parts of the lower field, seating area. in just a few months crews say the entire stadium will be torn down.

>> reporter: this was the scene just about an hour ago when we were in there. we got a look at the demolition process. they say this is what's called free demolition getting rid of some of the hazardous chemicals. that i say that process will begin in about a week. crews for a few months now have been slowly taking out parts of the seating area. they say for about four months now. it was certainly a surreal experience. >> no wrecking balls. a little bit that we kind overgave of gravitated from wrecking balls.

you'll be using different cutters and hammers that are attached to the excavators. that is the type of equipment that will be used. no swinging wrecking balls like you see in the movies. >> reporter: of course candle stick has been home since the 1960s. who would forget the 89 world series and even last concert for the beatles. crews will begin building this for mixed use development. it will include a 500,000 square food mall and more than 200 hotel rooms. definitely not the stick show. as we take it out there live, a lot of people taking that escalator to see events here. they say the process will take about two or three months. in terms of development being

complete they say they will be done late 2017 to early 2018. he says i feel like my home field is being torn down, a lot of sad faces here for a lot of people. >> i just favored that tweet that you sent out. thank you. >> reporter: yeah. investigators have not said whether a woman fired any shots or aimed a gun at police before officers shot and killed her. a vigil turned violent after they marched to a home depot store. demonstrators painted the woman's name on windows. they say the woman was shoplifting at the store yesterday. officers chased her down the street into oakland. they say she was armed. the officers opened fire. a witness was caught in the middle of the shooting.

>> there was gunfire right next to me. next thing i know the windows were being blown out in my car. i was ducking for the floor board of my car. that's where it ended. >> there are three separate investigations going on into what happened. they are being conducted by police and the district attorney's office as well as the oakland police department which is leading the criminal investigation into the shooting. and the man shot and killed by officers in antioch is defined as dewayne ward jr . they say it was happening as deputies were a move out order. ward charged at them with a knife forcing one of the deputies to shoot him. the sheriffsdepartment and antioch police are investigating. a sketch of a man accused

of molesting a little girl in the toy section of a dollar store. he is black male, 6 feet tall, wearing a white tee shirt, dark jeans and black tennis shoe. surveillance captured this man. he molested the eight-year-old girl while her mother was shopping in another aisle. protesters shut down bart service. a misdemeanor against 14 people involved in the protest. demonstrators stopped service for three hours after the day of thanksgiving. they lost $70,000 in fares. they say they were simply
