all of the clouds to the north. a few high clouds, patchy fog, generally clear. high clouds will, again, mainly be over the north bay area. 60s and also 70s. all right, sal. usual traffic or something popped up? something popped up here a few moments ago. it's on 80 westbound at powell. i'm gonna see if joe in the back -- hey, joe, can you look up 80 at powell? we do have a camera there. these cameras don't move as quickly as they can. we'll try to get it up for you. let's take a look at the cameras that we do have. this is the westbound bay bridge. you can see traffic is gonna be slow, about a 30, 35-minute delay as you get out to the toll plaza. once you get on the bridge, it's okay. we also have a look now at interstate 880. that's a pretty decent commute as you drive through. and i don't know if this is possible, if the guys in the

control room can bring up the emeryville camera, i will show you there is a huge backup already on westbound 80. there is a report of an injury crash, west 80 at powell. just below what we can see here. chp and paramedics and fire department on the way and it does look like it's causing a big delay. we'll get more on this coming up for you by the next traffic update. if we find it, we'll let you know. and we have an accident reported westbound 80 in richmond near pinole valley road. now let's go back to the desk. all right. thank you, sal. 7:03. there is a disturbing report of someone peeping into the stalls of women restrooms at a popular community center in palo alto. cute fox 2 news reporter alex savidge is live at the community -- ktvu fox 2 news reporter alex savidge is live at the community center with more. >> reporter: this is on middlefield road. much of this is campus is used

bide -- used by foothill campus. this is where peepers have been snapping pictures. the latest case, monday night. about 10:00. police say a woman in her 20s was in one of the bathroom stalls when she noticed a man holding a cell phone over the dividing wall taking photos of her or possibly video. the victim yelled out. the woman told police she had seen the man with the cell phone outside of the path room right before this all happened. police believe that same man was responsible for a similar crime at the community center in july of last year. now here is a description of the man police are searching for this morning. he's described as -- as either hispanic or asian in his 20, between 5'6" and 5'8". he has a buzz cut and a thin mustache. police say they are working now with both the victim and the witness in this case to try to come up with a composite sketch

of the man that may be put out to the public soon. but in the meantime, as we bring you out here live, this is a campus or community center filled with many college students. a lot of concern here and so tori, in light of what took place earlier this bk, police will be stepping up a -- this week, police will be stepping up patrols. >> that's reassuring to the public. alex savidge live in palo alto. thank you. a teenager accused of raping and robbing a pizza delivery driver is due in court and prosecutors will charge him as an adult. photos show 17-year-old darien miles junior being arrested on sunday. police say he carjacked a female pizza delivery driver in antioch, forced her at gunpoint to drive to another location. that's where he's accused of raping her. if convicted on eight felony counts, miles could face life in prison. target stores have agreed to pay almost $4 million to

settle a false advertising lawsuit. the lawsuit was filed by several prosecutors in northern and southern california. it claimed that target misrepresented products and failed to make sure the scanners at the checkouts were accurate. target said part of the problem was promotional signs not being removed after a promotion ended. 7:06. the odds of winning are really miniscule but that's not stopping people all around the bay area, around the country, in fact, from hoping for a big payout from one of the biggest powerball jackpots ever. no one bought a winning ticket for saturday's drawing. so the prize for tonight has ballooned to at least -- look at that -- $485 million. that's the third largest powerball jackpot. it can climb higher depending upon how many tickets are sold. they are available in 44 states plus d.c. puerto rico and the u.s. virgin islands. nearly everyone who buys a

an epic party." san jose city leaders will show off the first phase of the city street light program. 18,000 street lights are being converted to use l. efnlts d. lights. they are called smarter street lights. they are whiter and brighter. but they will use less energy which makes them cheaper to operate. about a third of the conversion project is already completed. this morning, big questions being raised about the security of major u.s. airports because of reports that a woman known as the serial stowaway, she did it again. snuck onto a plane without a ticket. 63-year-old marilyn jean hartman's collection of mugshots, they just keep growing. she continues to get past airport security. on sunday, she was arrested in florida. investigators say she told them she flew from minneapolis to jacksonville without a ticket. she successfully pulled the same stunt in august on a flight from san jose to los

angeles. and six months earlier, she was arrested after getting past security at sfo. in that case, she was seated on a plane bound for hawaii when the passenger whose seat she was in arrived. >> the fact is we don't have good security. you do have to have a boarding pass to get into the security line. how did she manage to do that? you need a boarding pass. how did she manage to do? our system is not layered. it's like swiss cheese. >> the tsa says it's reviewing airport security video to confirm whether hartman's most recent stowaway claim is actually true. the family of jahi mcmath is being seed for a landlord in new jersey for not paying their rent. they have been watching over her. the teenager was left brain dead from complications during tonsil surgery at oakland's children's hospital in december

2013. the prayer news group reports jahi's parents are accused of owing $3300 in back pent and -- rent and fees. but their attorney said the rent has been paid and the matter will be resolved. bobbi kristina's boyfriend is being questioned in a criminal investigation after doctors found injuries on her body that no one can explain. she has been in a coma since being face down in a tub on january 31st. nick gordon was questioned about bruises on her chest. a source familiar with the investigation claims authorities are focusing on people who had contact with gordon and were at their house the night before the incident. >> and this is the anniversary of the death of whitney houston. >> that's right. >> today, the third anniversary. 7:10. still ahead, a san francisco woman who has leukemia. she's suing for the right to die in her own home.

maze. the fire department and medics have gone. now it's a question of towing away the vehicles. now traffic is backed up to the eastshore freeway. we have a backup on the eastshore freeway. in fact, it's going to be 43 minutes to drive through the area, from the carquinez bridge to the macarthur maze almost 45 minutes because of this crash and also because of the morning commute. let's move to the bay bridge toll plaza and the traffic has been heavy and slow at the toll plaza. about a 25, 30-minute delay. i want to mention, hayward southbound traffic a little bit slow because of an earlier accident at a street. it's also slow approaching southbound 880 near tennyson. there was a crash. the traffic is moderately heavy. over on the peninsula side, we have slow traffic in san mateo. but you can see the road sensors are not showing much in palo alto, menlo park or into sunnyvale just yet.

keep you from sitting down too long. he says this watch will give you a tap on the wrist to remind you to get up, move around. cook says a lot of doctors think sitting for a long time is a health hazard. this watch can help people get moving and stay healthy. they will cook says the farm where there will be solar power will cover all of apple's energy needs in california. a chinese company is no longer playing hard to get with its 1 plus 1 phone. until now, they've made their phones available by invitation only. the company has been criticized for creating artificial demand that way. so now it will make the android phone available to anyone who wants to buy one.

earlier problem. for the most part, traffic is going to be okay as you drive through here. highway 24 is slow and 680 is also slow trying to get into the danville area. so please give yourself extra time in the south bay and i want to mention that northbound 85 just after 280 there is an area accident there. we'll tell you more about that next time. let's go back to the desk. >> thank you. the berkeley city council changing the way the police respond to protests. all of this after recent protests turned violent. ktvu fox 2's brian flores live in berkeley right now to tell us what the sit council decided, brian, and the emotional reaction to it. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. it remains emotional this morning from the several people that we talked to, residents, students, business owners. but about 50 people turned up last night to berke city city council meeting to express their concern over bhear they say was excessive force -- over what they say was excessive

force by police. about 50 speakers took to the podium during the meeting to speak out against how police handled protesters during the black lives matter rallies in december. late last night, the council approved a proposal forbidding the police from using tear gas and rubber bullets for the time being. the protests, still an emotional topic for many people who live here. >> the issue is that the demonstrators are out of line. they will probably all tell you oh, we're nonviolent. but they are swelter erg rerring the ones who are and they know they are doing it.

>> i've had family members who have gone to prison and have suffered lost time with us through that. it was very -- it hits very close to home. >> reporter: before the meeting last night, anti-police protesters marched peacefully from uc berkeley to the old city hall where the meeting was held. the council also voted to purchase body and dash cam cameras for police officers. one person who did not attend the meeting was berkeley's police chief. that was noted by several of the people who attended the meeting last night. back out here live, coming up on "mornings on 2," again, several of these businesses were damaged. the mcdonald's that you saw on the corner, this bicycle shop, very emotional for many people from the protests from december. we're trying to get in touch with business owners to see how they feel about this recent decision by the city council to limit the use by berkeley police. we're also trying to get in touch with berkeley police to get their reaction on the

morning news. back to you. >> all right, brian. brian flores in berkeley. we'll talk to you later. thanks. a woman eating at a restaurant in san jose was wounded by a stray bullet. the shooting happened just before 9:00 last night at the mayhong restaurant on center road near tully. when officers arrived, they found the woman was shot at least once. she was taken to the hospital in stable condition. no arrests have been made at this time. the city of san jose is hosting a forum tonight to discuss a recent rash of burglaries. the safety meet being will be held at brett hart middle school. san jose's mayor and police chief are scheduled to attend. burglaries have recently trip. ed in the neighborhood because of fewer officers in the police department and longer response times. people livg in the area -- living in the area have formed neighborhoods watches and hired private security. a california law requiring kill switches on cell phones does not act take effect until

july but it may already be having an affect on robbery gates. george gascon is one of the driving forces behind the law. that law requires manufacturers to install technology to makes a stolen phone unusable. he says cell phone theft is already down and especially for iphones. apple implemented the kill switch technology early on. >> it became known on the streets it was better to stay away because they could have this working. >> he says the number of cell phones stolen in san francisco last year fell 27%. there were 40% fewer iphone thefts. we'll have a better idea how well this works after the law goes into effect on july 1st. the white house creating a new federal agency to fight cyber attacks. this comes ahead of the bay area visit this week that includes a cybersecurity summit

on friday at stanford. it seems that almost every day we hear about a website being hacked. in the past nine months, there have been cyber attacks on hone depot, target, jpmorgan chase and sony pictures. just yesterday a group claiming to be linked to isis said it hacked "newsweek magazine." you can see that banner posted on the page. there was a disturbing post that read, bloody valentine's day, michelle-mile-an-hour -- michelle obama, we're watching you, your girls, your husband." >> the saying goes in the security business. there are two kinds of companies. companies that have been hacked and companies that don't know they've been hacked yet. everybody will be hacked. >> about 400 ceos are expected to be at the summit at stanford on friday, including tim cook from apple and executives from google, yahoo!, and facebook.

some of the presidential fleet of planes have arrived. a lot of people saw this in the skies over san francisco yesterday. three osprey planes, the planes with the propeppers on the top of the wings and some of the president's helicopters. the planes, the aircraft, typically arrive several days ahead of a presidential visit. now, president obama is due to arrive at sfo about 5:30 thursday night. he plans to depart saturday morning. 7:39. brian williams, the anchor of nbc nightly news, has been suspended now from the network for six months without pay. williams took himself off the air over the weekend acknowledging he exage rated a story of being in a helicopter that was hit by a grenade during the iraq war. he was in another helicopter about an hour behind the one shot. questions have been raised about other comments about williams, including his

experience covering hurricane katrina. top executive steven burk says williams has jeopardized the trust of millions of americans. williams has not commented publicly but a friend described him as shattered. jon stewart who has made a career out of mocking politicians says she's stepping down from the daily show. after 16 years of comedy central. he disclosed his plans yesterday. he said he's still working out the details and date of his departure. no for his plans after the show but after his debut of rose water there's speculation he may mosque in that direction. and speculation has already's gun who will replace him. names being flown him include john oliver, also jessica williams, tina fey, amy poehler seth mcfarland. paul mcginnly's golf clubs

7:44. police in suisun city are looking for the gunmen responsible for a string of vehicle break-ins. officers responded to a report of shots fired at 1:45 this morning on codelia street. a man said he heard something outside. when he checked, he saw two men in his truck. the man chased after him. but one of them took out a gun and fired a shot at him and missed. eight vehicles were broken into and ransacked overnight. the heartbroken family of 26-year-old kayla mueller who was killed while being held captive by islamic state militants is now speaking out. >> kayla has touched the heart of the world. the world grieves with us. the world mourns with us. the world wants to be more like kayla.

motive. >> just a horrifying story. now there's word that three college students may have been killed over a parking dispute. they are all members of the same family. there was concern about the killing being racially motivated. police are now saying there was some kind of ongoing dispute over parking. now, 46-year-old craig stephen hicks turned himself in and is charged with murder. the scene outside of the condo complex was emotional and intense. >> tell me the situation. is he's dead, tell me. if he's alive, tell me. tell me straight up. >> all tree college students were found shot to death in their apartment. they are a dental student at the university of north carolina, his wife and her sister. now, investigators say the man under arrest has posted comments about atheism on his

santa rosa police have arrested two men they say were attempting some vigilante justice. police were called yesterday morning after a minivan hit some parked cars. police say two men chased and assaulted the driver of the van because they believed he was involved in recent thefts in the neighborhood. but the man was just delivering newspapers. police say there's no indication he's responsible for the theft. a marin county school board has voted to support legislation requiring students in california to be vaccinated against measles and other diseases. tiburon's reed school district voted to support the new law being proposed by richard pan. a boy apparents have been urging the school to take action because rhett has

had a few 30s. a lot of 40s. we're starting to bounce off the morning lows but still rather chilly for some. upper 30s for alamo and danville and san ramon. mid-40s for others. brentwood, antioch. 46 degrees. the higher clouds will begin to take their trek to the north. that will leave mostly sunny skies. partly cloudy up in the north bay. just a tiny bit of fog. not that much. high cloud to the north. chilly lows will give way to mostly sunny conditions and warmer temperatures. 60s and 70s. all right, sal. what freeway? what freeway is causing problems? i'm looking up -- i will are to get to it later. i was trying to do too many things at once. let's go to what we have right now. this crash at 24 was on the shoulder but look at all of the slow traffic here. in fact, let me see if i can do this on the air. what the heck. i will try to. i want to zoom in here.

look at 680 and 242. that's backed up much worse than it normally is. if you drive this way, you will probably be in a bad mood. 24 is moderate as i bring the map over to orinda. you will see slow traffic. give yourself extra time as you drive this commute. it's an unexpected slowdown. those are the worse. let's go to the bay bridge toll plaza, traffic is backed up surprisingly there's room on the left-hand side. that's kind of a relatively new phenomenon. some of these cash lanes are somewhat empty. on the eastshore freeway, between the carquinez bridge and the macarthur maze, it's taken almost an hour. not quite. this is because of an earlier accident we had in emeryville. this is another one of those commutes, not doing well. there is a disturbing report of someone peeping into the stalls of women restrooms at a popular community center in santa clara county. alex savidge is live at the

palo alto police department where he just received an update on this investigation. good morning, alex. >> reporter: good morning to you. palo alto police are doing what they can to try to find this man and in the meantime, they are urging the public to be on alert, especially if they will be spending any time at the community center on middlefield road. not far away from police headquarters here. that's a campus that's used often by foothill college. police say that a man has been sneaking into the women's restroom there and snapping pictures. the latest case was just this past monday, it was at about 10:00 at night, police say a woman in her 20s was in a bathroom stall when she noticed a man holding a cell phone over the dividing wall taking photos of her, possibly recording video. the victim yelled and the man then ran off. and the bomb told police she had seen the man with the cell phone in the hallway before she went into the bathroom. police believe that same man was responsible for a similar crime in july of last year.

also at the same community center. investigators are worried this man's crimes could get more serious. >> only could a crime like this escalate. it's just plain freaky. we have an expectation of privacy when we're in restrooms when we're using the bathroom, something like this is disturbing and it's something we want to do whatever we can to make sure that we bring this guy to jail. >> reporter: here's the description that police are putting out this morning of the man they are searching for -- he's either hispanic or asian. in his 20s. between 5'6" and 5'8". he has a buzz cut and also a thin mustache. police say they are working with both the victim and the witness in in case to try to comup with a composite sketch of the man that may be released to the public soon. in light of what happened earlier this week and the crime that took place at the community center, palo alto police officers will be doing increased patrols in that area

for the foreseeable future. >> all right, alex savidge live for us in palo alto. thank you. a teen accused of raping and robbing a pizza delivery driver due in court. prosecutors will charge him as an adult. photos show 17-year-old darien miles junior being arrested on sunday. police say he carjacked a female pizza delivery driver in antioch and forced her at gunpoint to drive to another location where he's accused of raping her. if convicted on eight felony charges, miles could face life in prison. 8:06. there are reports that the family of jahi mcmath is being sued in new jersey for not paying rent. her family has been watching over her in new jersey in a home where she remains connected to machines to keep there organs functioning. she was left brain dead from complications from tonsil surgery in oakland in 2013.

they are reporting her parents owe $3300 in back rent and fees. however the attorney says the rent has been paid and expect the matter to be re-- resolved today. a woman known as the serial stowaway, once again, managed to sneak on board an airplane without a ticket. we told you yesterday, 63-year- old marilyn hartman's collection of mugshots continues to grow. she was arrested in florida on sunday. investigators said she flew from minneapolis to jacksonville without a ticket. hartman successfully pulled the same stunt in august on a flight from san jose to los angeles. and six months earlier she got by security at sfo. in that case she was seated on a hawaii-bound plane when the passenger whose seat she was in arrived. >> the fact is, we don't have

security. you do have to have a boarding pass to get in the security line. how did she manage to do that? you have to have a boarding pass. how did she manage to do that? our system is not layered. our system is like swiss cheese. >> the tsa says it's reviewing airport surveillance video to confirm whether her recent claim is true. another construction project on the golden gate bridge is underway. the golden gate bridge was built in 1937. it has been upgraded but is still not up to earthquake safety standard. the crews will perform $600,000 worth of seismic retrofitting on the tollbooths. booths will be closed down and that may cause minor delays for you drivers. >> we would prefer to have all of the lanes open if we could. however, we didn't have major traffic tieups because of this work. ultimately the work is

bobbi kristina brown's boyfriend is now being questioned as part of a criminal investigation after doctors found injuries on her body that no one can explain. brown has been in a coma and on life support since shipe was found unresponsive and face down in a tub on january 31st. a friend says police questioned nick gordon about bruises found on brown's chest. a source familiar with the investigation claims authorities are now focusing on people who had contact with gordon and were at the house the night before the incident and it was three years ago today that bobbi kristina's mother, whitney houston, died in a bathtub. >> yeah. 8:14. well, opening statements are underway in texas in the trial of the man who is accused of killing american sniper chris kyle. about an hour ago, 27-year-old eddie ray routh entered a not guilty plea in the shooting deaths of kyle and another man two years ago at a gun range. chris kyle, of course, was the

navy s.e.a.l. whose autobiography is now a movie nominated for an oscar. the defense is expected to offer that routh was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. if convicted, he faces life in prison without parole. joe vid -- joe biden and eric holder are getting ready to award the medal of honor. this is the country's highest honor for public safety officers who risk their own safety to save or protect others. 2 people will be honored. they include a sheriff's deputy from los angeles who was five months pregnant and off duty when she rescued a teenager from drowning at the bottom of a muddy lake. a little league team from chicago that received recognition from president obama, they've just been stripped of their united states championship title. officials say the jackie robinson west team broke the

rules. they had players who lived outside of the team's district. all of their victories leading up to and during the little legal world series have now been taken away. that team was the first all african-american little league team to play in the world series championship game. they later went onto the white house. they met president obama and the first lady. now a team from las vegas which was the united states runner-up they've been declared the u.s. champions. 8:16. a federal government advisory panel is making what could be a controversial recommendation. the dietary guide lines committee says cholesterol which is found in eggs and also made by the body is no longer what it calls a nutrient of concern. that goes against the group's last report on cholesterol which was five years ago. the american heart association recommends everyone over the age of 19 have a cholesterol check about effi five years.

that group says this can effect the person's risk for heart attack or stroke. >> you are my health expert. your reaction. >> i think you need to be sensitive. try to eat a good, healthy, well-rounded diet. sal, you have things happening out there. what's going on? >> we have slow traffic in marin county. one of our cameras has spotted it. southbound southbound 101 as you drive into central san rafael. look at all of the that slow traffic trying to get up over the hill on southbound 101. give yourself extra time. there was an earlier problem at the sir francis drake turnoff. some sort of -- either a stalled truck or something but they were moving it. traffic is slow in this area. let's go to the bay bridge toll plaza where it's backed up to a 25, 30-minute delay getting into san francisco. a little bit more than that if you count the actual traffic on the bridge. on the eastshore freeway, this thing is horrible. we had an earlier crash that

blame. a lot of slow traffic coming in from richmond. look at that some id line of traffic down to the bridge. 680 and 24 is slow. 24 is a mess on the way to the caldecott. we're just waving you about that -- warning you about that. 8:17. back to steve. we have a beautiful sunrise giving way to a few high cloud. a little chilly. 30s an 40s. it will be sunny and warmer today. in fact, the warming begins. even though it may not feel like if it you step outside. it's on its way. there is enough of a little slight offshore breeze for some. warmer even though tomorrow, friday, into the weekend, looks very warm. spring-like, maybe a few high clouds. that will be it. mostly clear, a chilly, cool morning. mostly sunny, mild to warm on the temps. they will be above average. the lows are pretty close. the lows are close to where they should be. a few high clouds. partly cloudy to the north. occasionally some of these drift over but not a biggie. partly cloudy to mostly cloudy well to the north. for us, it looks mostly sunny.

8:22. the alameda police department's new license plate readers are being called a success. four squad cars have been equipped with the technology since december. within two two seconds, the readers scanses and processed information from every license plate it passes. the officer is alerted if the plates are from a vehicle that's been reported stolen. a few weeks ago, a reader working in reverse helped police locate a missing suicidal person. an officer typed in the person's license plate number and the system recognized it from a plate scanned earlier that day. officers were able to pinpoint the location and find the person. >> the person didn't want to be found. they were trying to o.d. on medication and they had turned their cell phone off so we couldn't track their cell

phone. inside of a minutes, we locate -- inside of 45 minutes we located them in the back seat of their car in alameda and rushed them to the hospital. >> the readers have helped recover 15 stolen cars. out of privacy concerns, police are keeping information from nonstolen cars for just six months. the city of hayward is trying a quirky new approach to improving pedestrian safety. many people are taking notice. the city installed seven traffic signs along hayward boulevard to try to curb speeding by using humor. there's one that says, 35 is the speed limit. not a suggestion. for for pedestrians says head up, cross the street, then update facebook. the signs when up about two weeks ago as part of a pilot program. so far, reaction has been mixed. >> i was like wow! and then i was really excited because someone is creative and kind of thinking outside of the box. >> i think they are creative, as a drive, you drive by them,

you can't really see them. >> a revent city survey shows speeding is a top concern among hayward residents. signs cost about $200 each. they will stay up for a few more weeks to gauge reaction and then the city will decide whether to continue with the program. 8:24. netflix apparently good for more than just binge watching your favorite tv shows. thanks to netflix, a man in minnesota has his stolen property back. last july, david came home his front door had been kicked in, several things including an ipad, a handgun, and his brand- new smart tv were stolen. well, then a couple of months ago, he was noticing shows he never watched were popping up on his netflix account. that netflix access was traced to a comcast internet address and to someone's house. >> once you connect something to the internet, this system automatically talks to everything. >> the tv knows. police say besides that

television, other items that were stolen, were found inside that other house. technology experts say the smart tv did exactly what it was designed to do. well, google is rewarding its users for their internet high gee. they are offering extra storage space but there is a catch. google is offering two extra gigabytes of drive storage to drivers who complete security checkouts. it has to be performed by february 17th. the checkout involves you go through your settings. users can get into the security checkup from your google account settings. 8:26. we're live this morning at the at&t pebble beach national pro am. live pictures of a beautiful place to be. after the break, the big contest that will start in just a couple of hours and we'll show you highlights of the charity shootout. we're also live in berkeley where the city council voted to

police during the protests. we continue to be on shaddock university where many businesses were damaged as a result of the protests back in december. in terms of what happened last night, about 50 speakers took to the podium during the city council meeting to speak out about how police handle protesters during the black lives matter rallies in december. last night, the council unanimously proposed forbidding police from using tear gas and rubber bullets. this man described december as a war zone but also says it was a delicate balance between first amendment rights an police safety. >> the issue is that the demonstrators are out of line. they will probably all tell you oh, we're nonviolent. but they are sheltering the ones who are violent and they know they are doing it. >> it makes me mad to know that we live in a system where police can devalue black lives.

>> reporter: before the meeting anti-police protesters marched peacefully from uc berkeley to the old city hall where the meeting was held. the council voted to purchase body and dash-cam cameras. one person who didn't intend the meeting was the police chief. that was noted by several of the people who attended the meeting. back out here live, shaddock university, these are a couple of businesses affected by the protests last december. the mcdonald's that you saw, this bike shop as well. we have spoken to many people. we tried to get in touch with business owners. we couldn't get in touch with them, neither could we get in touch with berkeley police to get reaction. back to you. >> brian flores in berkeley. thank you. 8:34. meantime, the white house is creating a new federal agency to fight cyber attacks. this comes ahead of president obama's bay area visit this week that includes a

cybersecurity summit on friday at stanford. in the past nine months, cyber attacks targeted home depot, target, jpmorgan chase, and sony pictures. in fact, just yesterday, a group claiming to be tied to isis says it hacked the twitter account of newsweek magazine. here's the manner reading cyber cal -- cyber callie fate. the hackers also claimed to have sensitive u.s. government information. >> the saying goes in the security business, there are only two kinds of companies. companies that have been hacked and companies that don't know they've been hacked yet. everybody will be hacked. >> about 400 ceos are expect to be at the summit at stanford on friday including tim cook and executives from google, yahoo! and facebook. some of the presidential fleet of aircraft, they are already

-- they've already arrived in the bay area. you probably saw this over the skies in san francisco. three ospreys, the plane with the propeppers on the top of the wings, and some of the president's helicopters. now, the aircraft typically arrives several days ahead of a presidential visit. president obama is due to arrive at sfo about 5:30 thursday night. he's due to leave saturday morning. 8:36. an 8.3 million-dollar settlement has been reached in the wrongful death lawsuit of an inmate at the san you da rita jail in dublin -- santa rita jail in dublin. it involves martin harrison of oakland. he was arrested for jaywalking and failing to appear in court in a dui case five years ago. lawyers say when he was booked, he told a jail hours he had a history of alcohol withdrawals but did not receive proper treatment. a few days later, he suffered a severe withdraw and deputies used a taser to try to subdue him. >> came after the deputies.

he was tased and at at that point he was taken to the medical portion of the jail and subsequently died thereafter. >> alameda county and the jail healthcare provider will split paying the settlement which is the largest in california history. the settlement will be paid to harrison's four adult children. they will have to implement new procedures for how it screens its inmates. if you haven't done it all right, you should start taking edits in san francisco phone numbers on your cell phone. starting in ten days, if you dial a san francisco number, you are gonna have to start with a 1 and then the area code, 4 5. that apply -- 415. that applies to people living in san francisco calling a number across the street. >> that could take a long time, combing through finding your contacts. >> this change is paving the way for san francisco's area

of nightly news has been suspended for six months without pay. over the weekend, williams took himself off the air for a few days, he said, after acknowledging he exaggerated the story about being in a helicopter hit by a rocket- propelled grenade in the iraq war. williams was actually in another helicopter about an hour behind the one that was shot. questions have been raised about other comments made by williams including his experience covering hurricane katrina. top nbc executive steven burk says williams has jeopardized the trust of millions of americans. williams has not commented publicly but a friend describes him as shatter. jon stewart who has made a career out of morking politicians and newsmakers has announced he's stepping down as host of the daily show. after 16 years at comedy central, he disclosed his plans during the taping of yesterday's show. he says he's still working out the details. no word on his plans after the
