cigarettes. >> he's the supervisor, he's the leader. >> reporter: manny zuniga helped train a half dozen security guards at the bvos nightclub. now they're brokenhearted gathered where he was last night. >> i was the one next to him. i was doing cpr. >> reporter: people poured from the club hearing several shots. >> i saw her eyes open, looking at me. i thought he was going to be fine. >> reporter: then the paramedics arrived. >> everybody was happy, they were like yeah, he's going to make it. he's going to make it. >> reporter: manny was at work when he heard a commotion next door at the convenience store. it was all on surveillance video. everybody in his store knows, merchandise is not worth a life. the robber had already had what

here. we broke records in at least two places. >> oakland topped out in the warmest locations 80 degrees. looking out toward the golden gate bridge. you can see here and i noted temperatures a good 10 to 15 degrees above the average and a few records to report as well. here's a listing for salinas. 81degrees. here's a look at all the bay area temperatures, the high temperatures from this afternoon. they have really not been changing that much. it's a constant lots of 70s for san jose, fremont, livermore 77. great beach weather for today. you can see pacifica topping out in the 70s. 74degrees. i am tracking some fog that's developing. possibly a few changes, we'll have more on that coming up at 10:35. >> thank you, mark. a different problem at the port of oak land. a two alarm fire broke out.

the fire was inside the walls and in a cabin. firefighters had it under control within an hour. meanwhile that labor fight continues. countless containers have yet to be loaded. last week president obama directed labor secretary tom perez to come to california to help negotiations at between the port and port workers. egypt's president declared a seven day mourning period this after islamic militants released a video that allegedly shows a mass beheading. all 21 are beheaded simultaneously. the men were captured in libya in december and january. yesterday the extremists took control of the birthplace of

late egyptian dictator gadhafi. libya has been in turmoil since gadhafi was overturned in 2011. since then, numerous militants have fought to take control of the region. two people were killed in yesterday's attacks and five police officers were wounded. as bryant yanes reports the suspected gunman is said to have a long criminal history. >> reporter: the prime minister of denmark lays flower at a c openhagen. police say a gunman shot through the windows of a cultural center holding a free speech event killing a documentary maker and wounding three offers. then they say he attacked again.

this time at a synagogue where a jewish man was killed and two police officers were hurt. police say they shot and killed the suspect and found a weapon that may have been used in the attack. they are not releasing his name but say he has a criminal record. including violence. >> we don't know right now if the perpetrator has been traveling to conflict zones such as syria and iraq. but of course that's absolutely at the heart of the investigation. >> reporter: danish police say it's likely the gunmen were mimicking the attacks in paris. >> this morning i saw the same sadness i witnessed back in paris in january in people's

terrified eyes. >> reporter: in new york, bryan yenis, fox news. in the wake of recent attacks, president obama is preparing to host the summit on confronting violent extremism. he will return to the white house tomorrow night after a trip here to california that included a bay area visit. the president is said to talk about domestic at the event which will be held on wednesday. officials from other countries will attend. meantime legislations are expected to begin next week. san jose police are asking for help to find a missing 78- year-old woman who suffers from alzheimer's decide. gloria robles garcia wandered away from the capital flea market around 3:30 this afternoon. she is described as 5'3" tall, weighing around 118 pounds. there's a picture of her right

there on your screen. police say she has a history of becoming lost or disoriented. anyone with information is asked to give police a call. some people in busy san francisco neighborhood got a bit of a scare today when a large tree came crashing down on to the street. fire crews used chain saws to cut down the acacia tree. estimated to be 8 feet tall before it fell. the tree fell in the city's lower hays neighborhood. a woman working near by saw the whole thing. >> well, i was just standing working, looking out on the street. and this massive tree fell down on to, knocked down all the lines and barely missed a car. so it's a miracle nobody was hurt or a car or bus would have been crushed. >> reporter: police closed down

a wall of flames yesterday left little of this building behind. the fire is out but the clean up and investigation into just how it started is just beginning. today some of the people were allowed back in to recover whatever they could recover. >> reporter: amber lee was there to talk about the challenges of this investigation. >> reporter: rolls of burned up melted upholstry stacked up feet high. firefighters continued to work on hot spots 24 hours after it started. the building owner came by to take pictures of the damage.

two businesses were renting space here. this is all that was left of the fire. the owner estimated the value of those cars up to $1 million. >> i was just surprised because i thought, you know i came on the wrong place. you know, i mean this was not the scene that i want to see. >> reporter: the fire burned so hot for so long no winston cup could access the building yesterday. fire investigators came back to the site today. >> they're going to look through the building. see if they can determine any cause or find any evidence. >> reporter: a backhoe and dump truck were brought in on stand by in case investigators needed to get better access once inside the building. >> reporter: firefighters did allow a few people to come back and retrieve their belongings. alex garza had been storing his daughter's fish tank right

the group claimed responsibility for the charlie hebdo attack in paris. another blizzard strikes boston it is the fourth major snowstorm there in less than a month. tonight people are trying to dig out from more than a foot of new snow. the mayor of boston says the city is running out of places to put it. rick leventhal shows us the conditions. >> reporter: shivering people slipping and sliding their way through the streets of boston after the city's fourth major winter storm in less than a month. roads are treacherous with winter record totals topping 7 feet in some areas. >> this is historic. we've never seen this type of snow in this type of period in the history of this city. >> reporter: hundreds of plows and road crews are working nonstop to clear lanes. but frigid cold are making clean up difficult. charlie baker is asking people to stay inside if possible. >> roads that may have been plowed recently will start to look pretty quickly like they haven't been plowed. in a short period of time.

armed suspect sitting in the front seat. the suspect demanded money and forced the driver out. but had to abandon the car because it was a standard transmission. police are still looking for that suspect. he's on described as being 25 years old, 150 pounds with a thin mustache. new details about a san leandro man who bought a winning ticket. carr era said he used his daughter's birthday to pick those numbers. and he said he and his wife plan to buy a bigger home and perhaps pay off some bills. wednesday's $564 million jackpot was the fifth largest in u.s. history. >> good for him. a pilot makes an emergency landing on the tenth hole. the malfunction on board just after take off. >> bay area girls in a worldwide toting competition. we talked to them about their

the pilot of a small plane made an emergency landing today right on the tenth hole of a hayward golf course. firefighters tweeted the picture of the plane. the plane lost power right after take off just before 1:00 this afternoon. the golf course is just about a mile away from the airport. the pilot brought the plane down as you see here right on its belly and managed to avoid some golfers. in the process no one was hurt and the pilot was the only person on board. and meanwhile, teen girls

are participating in a coding competition. the hack-a-thon has been taking place. >> reporter: the aim of the program is to get girls and young women to use technology to help solve the problems they face. in this case to help girls and women define a safe space. either in the real world are cyber space. >> the girls have 24 hours the way we do this. create safe places or increase access for girls to have access to safe spaces. >> reporter: the hack-a-thon is part of a competition with girls in saigon, brazil and the united states. they wrote codes and then brought their idea to life.

begins to relax and moves off to the east. cooler at the coast with patchy fog returns. the storm track remains way off to the north. the storm door remains shut for now. here's the change, almost looks like a summertime weather pattern right now with the fog. regrouping from the south so we could have patchy fog flirting with parts of the shoreline especially for tomorrow afternoon. and then the low clouds and fog kind of increase in coverage by monday night and into a tuesday. that will be the first sign of cooling especially in the tuesday forecast. temperatures for tomorrow, lots of 70s out there for santa rosa and napa. cooling right near the immediate shoreline for stinson beach. livermore 73. and more neighborhoods, more 70s to report in san jose. i think we have fog moving in from the south. santa cruz not as warm as it was today. you can see mid-60s right near the immediate shoreline with patchy fog coming back near parts of the coast. especially by mid- to late afternoon. look ahead your five day
