up with gunfire on if east side. police say the trouble started at 10:00 lag night when someone pull out a gun. the bar owner was in the kitchen when he heard gunshots and called 911. >> a couple of people saw a couple asian guys come and shoot and ran. >> reporter: two men were shot and wounded. they appear to be asian and under 30. >> one of the victims was in critical condition. she stabilized. we will keep monitoring that situation. the second victim is expect today survive from his injuries. >> reporter: they detained witnesses. one man in handcuffs. they did arrest a man for assault with a develop but they still looking for a second suspect. this is the fourth shooting that occurred at or near a vietnamese bar or restaurant.

>> our gang is aware of the violence. >> reporter: a few days before on the same street at man was killed at the dx club. on new year's day gunfire erupted in the rain lounge and a man was killed. >> it is something that the on our radar. we will go ahead and work with our investigators and conduct follow up on if there's a connection between any of these. >> reporter: the bar where the latest shooting occurred has within open three month. police will be studying surveillance video to see if they can identify the second suspect. they are hoping that witness who left the bar before officers arrived will come forward. reporting from san jose, ktvu fox 2 news. helping students cope with

the death of a classmate. christopher gonzales was hit by an suv yesterday. authorities say he was crossing the street in the intersection against the traffic signal. the 45-year-old driver stopped and is cooperating with police. they say the driver had the green light and was driving at the speed limit. he was an 8th grader and lived close to crash site. an investigation is underway in san leandro found a loaded handgun while walking to school. the gun may be related to a shooting incident at shiloh's bar. a man found the gun in some bushes near the bar. he thought it was a toy and picked it up. when he realized it was a real gun police immediately called his parents. officers were unable to find the weapon.

that is being investigated to see if it is connected to other shootings. the cause of an explosion and fire in southern california is still under investigation. this is cell phone video of the aftermath of the fire and a gasoline processing unit a it the plant. it set off a huge flare. four contractors were hurt. the blast was strong enough to shatter a near by window and sent ash reigning down over the neighborhood. part of the refinery shut down. drivers can expect prices at the pump to go up because of that fire and the recent shut down of the refinery where workers are on strike. alex was at one station where the price of a gallon of gasn't up right before our eyes. >> reporter: at this shell station the early birds got the cheaper gas.

it was selling for $2.85 when we first arrived. it wasn't long before the attendant came out to change the signs bumping up prices by 4-cents. a regular at this station watched it happen live during mornings on 2. >> i saw you guys on tv this morning. >> reporter: you said hey, that's my station. >> yeah. i saw my guy out there. >> reporter: you're still filling up. >> yeah. i don't feel the difference anyway. >> spread out the pain a little bit. >> reporter: they predict prices will increase as much as 10-cents with two refinery problems in california. there was yesterday's huge explosion at the exxon mobile facility in torrence and this oil refinery remains shut down because of an on going labor

dispute. drivers are bracing for a bumpy road ahead. >> it's a bummerment we just bought a new tahoe too. i thought the prices would stay down for another few years. what can you do? >> it was nice while it lasted. i kind of expected it. we were just kind of riding it while it was low. it's going to go up eventually. >> reporter: around the bay area prices have been creeping up lately, jumping 1 to 2-cents since yesterday. over the last month fuel prices have gone up about 20-cents on average. even without the martinez strike or torrence explosions prices were bound to go up anyway. this is the time that refineries switch over to a cleaner burning summer gasoline. gas for under $3 a gallon

>> reporter: they voted to cut all school boards salaries and nix 14 jobs next year. >> we negotiated the standard for class sizes. it is something that has been negotiated with our teachers in good faith. >> can't even believe after no raise for over 8 years but then you want to take money. we have teachers that can't afford to live here. they have extra jobs. this just isn't working. >> reporter: they say that the budget shortfall is due to the rising cost of special education. teachers here say they have been offered no explanation. >> parents keep asking for answers. we have had a lot of income from selling properties. we have yet to get any real answers about where the money has gone. >> reporter: it has been strucking for nearly a decade.

out in parts of the south bay. no changes for the weather pattern with the exception of stubborn weather out there out towards the bay and inland valleys. here is a closer look at the satellite. this is all showing you cloud cover here. east bay for condor, walnut creek covered over the bay for san francisco and oakland and the south bay mostly cloudy skies. santa cruz out towards scotts valley as well. you get the idea, big blanket of clouds over the area. numbers in the 0s. coolest in the lower 50s. 60 in hayward. forecast for today still patchy clouds in the short term. clearing skies. i think we'll have clearing

times in the friday forecast. it will be dry but also breezy. high weather in command of our weather. it comes setting up a blanket over the low clouds. so we have the overcast out there for this afternoon. it should break up a bit with a few spots reporting partly cloudy skies by about 3:00 or 4:00. then into the weekend we will have this, this area of low pressure moves in out towards the east of the bay area. it will increase offshore winds. it should help wipe away the low clouds and fog and increase the winds out of the north to northeast especially on sunday. once again, starting out with great and increasing sunshine for the afternoon hours for friday. so more sunshine in the friday forecast. temperatures for this afternoon mainly in the upper 50s to low to mid-60s. a few upper 60s out there. a look ahead, your five day forecast with clearing skies.

is flat. it is an event inspiring young people to get involved in local and global change. they must earn they way in by committing to make a positive change. today we take a look at aurora school in oakland and the work of their service club that is getting them seats at wii day. at aurora school in oakland students and staff are preparing to announce a book drive. they chose a name, books for buddies and got down to planning their presentation. >> we'll be collecting books until march 10th. >> we are collecting books because we believe every kid should have good books. >> reporter: the children that were not presenting are in charge of making posters. >> we are trying to raise 150 or over. when we raise our goal it makes me feel really happy. >> reporter: he is the teacher for the service club.
