two men, two pedestrians around 32nd street. one of those men was taken to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. the second man was thrown into the air and landed in the back of a pickup truck. he died here at the scene. hehe is clearly devastated by what some of them witnessed here. they say he is a 39-year-old man who just attended a fundraiser at a park down the street. there are many people around here who say they knew this victim, who of course we're not identifying at this point, one of those people who knew him was eddie smith, who says he witnessed the collision. >> tell me what you saw. >> all i saw was, i heard the impact first and i happened to notice -- i saw this object, it was a perfect flip. it was like, a trampoline. he flipped and landed in the

back of the pickup truck. it was so loud, the guy that was with me was screaming. he seen it before it happened. he saw it, you could see it. nobody assumed that would happen. >> don't say his name, but you know him and you talk to him right before, right? >> yes, i spoke to him and i was coming across the street. i said hey man, get out of the street. you know how these fools drive. >> reporter: this is a hit-and- run. the driver of the car involved here on scene fled on foot. there were reports earlier that police were looking and this came from police. they were looking for an additional vehicle in this accident. but at the latest update, police weren't ready to talk about an additional vehicle at this point. they say they wanted to keep the amount of details to a minimum. because they are in the middle of an investigation. an investigation that has san pablo street closed downright now and they say that the investigation team could be here for a number of hours. >> ken, i don't know if the

police are saying this, but the car involved is facing the wrong direction on that street. do we know, did it cross over from the other lanes or did it spin around after being involved in this hit-and-run? >> frank, that is unclear. when we asked oakland police about the details of this accident, exactly how fast the car might have been going or in which direction, they want to keep that to a minimum because they are conducting an investigation and that goes to them wanting to talk to witnesses and get their accounts of it as they piece this all together. >> unfortunately, so sad to hear one person was killed and another person injured. ken pritchett on 32nd in oakland. ken, thank you. new at 6:00, a bay area contractor on the run. he is accused of collecting thousands of dollars up front and then never doing the work. tonight, there is a warrant out for the arrest of adon revis. his customers know him as adam. melanie tracked down his work truck today, but melanie, investigators don't know where

he is. >> exactly. we have passed along where we found his truck earlier today. in the meantime, homeowners from danville, la fayette are out thousands of dollars. >> omega collins was just trying to improve her house after a devastating blow to her home. >> my husband was diagnosed with colon cancer. so, we needed a place for the kids to come and place while he was resting after his chemo treatments. >> contractor, adam revis was working on a neighbor's house. he offered to trim some trees. >> initially, he initiated the conversation and we just talked about different projects that maybe he could -- his crew could take on. >> after a megagave adam $3,000 up front, he disappeared. >> they didn't even finish trimming the trees. we had to dig deeper into our pockets to get the work done so that the place was actually kid friendly. >> the contra costa district

attorney said she's not the only one who got scammed. d.a., mark peterson filed a lawsuit on behalf of 11 families. the office estimates adam collected $40,000 without doing the work. now, there's a $139,000 arrest warrant with his name on it. i stopped by an address where he may have been staying. no one answered. >> we got a tip that adam's work truck was on monument court in concord. you can see we found it and check this out, a bunch of tree branches in the back. somebody has been working. >> you seen that orange truck on the street. >> it's been sitting there for some time. >> how about this guy, have you seen him? >> no, i have not. i mean, we see a lot of guys, but i haven't personally seen him. >> the d.a.'s office says there may be more victims and there's no telling if he is still out there right now collecting down payments for work he doesn't intent on doing. >> i think it's just a quick, easy way for him to make money. and to take advantage of people. >> omega regrets she didn't do

more online research before hiring him. she says between his business cards, headers on e-mails and voice mail, he appeared to be using several different business names. many included new view or tree service. she created a website where she is tracking updates and other victims. in the newsroom, melanie, ktvu fox 2 news. >> thank you. chevron announced today that it's moving some of the jobs from its headquarters in san ramone to houston. chevron says 100 employees will be relocated this year and anyone who decides not to move and can't find another job within the company, they will be layed off on december 15 at the earliest. last year, chevron transferred 400 other workers to houston. as of a year ago, chevron had 3500 people working in san ramone. now to new development st developments in the stadium plan. as the city of carson

celebrates the move. >> carson officials today announced the deal. the proposed stadium would be shared by the oakland raiders and the san diego chargers. if it happened, it would move the raiders from oakland's odot coliseum down to a 168-acre site between the i-10 and 405 freeway. that area is vacant now, but it's a piece of land that the nfl had its eye on for awhile. ktvu's mike is here with who is at the news conference and reaction from oakland's new mayor. >> the raiders president called her yesterday to give her a head's up about what was going on. left out of the loop though, thousands of raider fans tell us the silver and black must stay. >> it was home. this is the capital of the raider nation. oakland. >> meet otis wood, season ticketholder. many stocking up on raider gear. >> los angeles is not a sports town. >> if they leave, oakland is going to be dead.

1150-year-old healthcare chain. daughters of charity health systems has been struggling financially for years. cover california officials announced a special extension today to buy health insurance through the state exchange for people who didn't know they would face a tax penalty for being uninsured. the extension doesn't exempt people from paying a penalty on their 2014 taxes, but would help them avoid bigger penalties next year. an estimated 600,000 californians may face that penalty. the new deadline for enrollment is april 30. up next here some major breaking news. we're just getting word there is now a deal to end that labor dispute at ports up and down the west coast. plus -- >> i had no idea that it would grow and people would do it all over the world. >> how the cross fit craze that started right here in the bay area has turned into the search for the strongest man and woman on earth. >> and how a trip to a popular bay area bakery landed several people in the hospital.

it appears a deal has been reached to get things moving again. the ap is reporting west coast dock workers have reached a tentative contract. we don't have any specifics just yet. our tom vacar who has been following the story from the beginning is working the phones right now to try and get more details and will hopefully be able to bring more information to you before the end of this newscast. medics treated 11 people in san francisco today after they were sickened by pepper spray inside a landmark restaurant. it happened about 10:20 this morning inside the bakery on fisherman's wharf. witnesses told them a homeless person came inside and deliberately discharged that pepper spray. >> police in santa rosa are investigating the claims of a woman who says she was kidnapped and held for three weeks. the 22-year-old woman told police that she was kidnapped at gunpoint in if the roseland area. she says that she was held captive in a huge gated compound, beaten, and sexually assaulted. police say she finally managed

bunch of cool temperatures. we had 58 in santa rosa. fairfield was 58. they got to 71 today. tomorrow is the same deal. so here's what is happening out here. we have the jet stream going well to the north. it swoops down out here across the plains and it drops into a cool east coast weather pattern. for us, more of the same, except sunday. when things change around a little bit. come in closer here, current numbers are still on the warm side. got mid 60s. a beautiful night if you're out and about. dealing with levi stadium will be fun tomorrow. you know, i'm not going to go down there, but if you're there saturday night at 7:00, upper 50s, temperatures when you get there and maybe low 50s when you leave. really, it's going to be a fun night for all and the weather looks great for the ice hockey game at the football stadium. this high pressure is with us tomorrow. that's why tomorrow is the best, warmest day on the weekend. little valley fog, coastal fog, a lot like today. and then on sunday, this guy drops in.

really breaks up that fog pattern. so we're not going to see as much fog on sunday. we'll see cooler highs because the cool air is closer to us. we'll see snow flurries. maybe a sprinkle around here. but i think it will mainly be a cool temperature pattern for sunday. so here we are. valley fog in the morning. here we are into tomorrow afternoon. i want to show you that low. dropped in and now it's dropping some showers and spinning around down towards big bear. not big bear, pardon me, towards bear valley. and so that's the weather story. not much going on. the weekend looks great. saturday is your warmest day. sunday will be cooler. but still stunning. it's cooler, low 60s in february. i'll take that. rather have rain, but if you're going to have no rain, you might as well have nice weather. five-day forecast with the bay area weekend in view, it looks like a good one. hopefully things break loose. clouds start to come and the jet stream will come down. maybe we'll get rain going towards the end of the month. >> we'll enjoy the weekend in

the meantime. thank you, bill. >> more now on that major breaking news we told you about. a tentative agreement in the dispute with workers at ports up and down the west coast, including the port of oakland. tom vacar is in the newsroom. what are you hearing? >> after nine months and five days, they apparently have a deal. this morning there was a report that this was possibly going to happen. in fact, had been confirmed that it happened, was withdrawn. later today, the ap learned and we have confirmed that case is true, there's a tentative deal. this slowdown was costing about a billion dollars a day in lost revenues had it gone to a full shutdown, $2 billion a day. the question, of course, is will both sides approve this? this is a tentative agreement. that may be something to take a few days. and once that is taken care of, then we have the issue of the backlog. tens and thousands of containers all up and down the west coast with the stuff in them, without stuff in them, and have to be sorted out.

that could take three or four months at the very least. at least for right now, we believe that there is a settlement in this port strike and that is good news for everybody who ships, who imports, who exports, who depend on those products and certainly, that is a fitting end to something that could have gotten a lot worse in the next day or so. that's what we have right now. >> yeah, this has affected so many people. we'll continue to work to get more information. thanks very much. and we'll be back with more. sports is coming up next with mark. we'll be right back.

the sharks practicing at the outdoor stadium in levi stadium tonight. a crowd of 70,000 bay area hockey fans expected to crowd into levi stadium tomorrow to see the nhl game being played outdoors against the kings. it's taken two weeks, 200 workers, and 20,000 gallons of water to get the ice ready for the game. the game between the sharks and the kings is set to begin tomorrow night at 7:00. >> looks like a good game. mark is here now. more on bruce bochy. >> they are, but it's all good news. he'll be back in no time it seems like as he was released today from a hospital in scotts
