arning this man from oakland was arrested for pimping a 15- year-old run away at this motel. >> sunnyvale. san francisco you expect that. big city. but around here it is shocking. >> reporter: he met the teen on social media and has been exploiting her for the last month. they spotted the girl on the website back page.com and tipped off police. an officer ranged to meet the girl. police found him nearby with $6,500 in cash and a motel key. >> he had sexually abused her. and that he was aware of her age. and that he had also physically assaulted her. >> she says he used force and fear on the girls and it represents what is happening in

the county. $1.2million has been dedicated to fight a crime that is referred to as modern day slavery. >> given it is such a tragedy of a crime, even one person being exploiticide too much. >> reporter: this -- exploided is too much -- exploited is too much. >> reporter: if convicted he could face up to 15 years in prison. he is held on $1 million bail and will be in court tomorrow morning. as for the victim, she is getting help with housing and with counseling services. >> are authorities looking for more victims in the case? >> reporter: you know, i asked that question and they tell me right now they are only prepared to talk about this one victim. >> thank you. we are hearing from a girlfriend of one of three men accused of raping a woman who

was held hostage and weeks inside a home near santa rosa. deputies arrested the three men including the owner who was the master mind. the men held a woman captive for two months and police say they sexually assaulted her repeatedly before she escaped through an unlocked door last week. this morning the girlfriend of one of the suspects told us the victim was living there similarity with him. and they say the two had an ongoing relationship. despite the fact that he was married. >> wasn't kidnapped. she wasn't held against her will. >> the victim reported to us that she was not free to leave. she had to make an escape. when she saw the opportunity she was able to make her escape and free herself. >> investigators say it doesn't appear the victim knew the

suspects. the men are scheduled to make their appearance in court tomorrow. to developing news in the north bay. right now an investigation is underway after a body was discovered inside a home. tonight officials are calling the death suspicious. the body was found around noon inside a house along rose avenue near pen grove. ktvu's cristina rendon joins us from the scene with what she learned. >> reporter: we have been talking to neighbors and all of them tell us the family who owns the property are nice people. the family owned the land for several years and that is why neighbors find it surprising the sheriff's office is out here investigating the case as a suspicious death. as you said, this report came in around noon today. a person came to this farm house and discovered a body. they immediately called for help and investigators rushed to the area. they had investigators from different divisions with the sheriff's department out here

going through the experior. they would not say this case is a homicide. they are classifying it as a suspicious death. we talked to neighborhoods to see if they heard or saw anything suspicious. one woman said the family did rent out the property and as well as storage units. >> they rented the pastures out for horses. as far as seeing who -- i am not here enough to see what happened. i mean as far as any wrong doings going on. >> reporter: again the investigation is being very closely held within the department. they are not saying anything other than this is a suspicious death. investigators will be out here into the evening hours looking into this. a lot of resources are dedicated to the investigation. we should know more or hope to tonight at 10:00 p.m. >> cristina rendon, thank you. . the medical examiner narrowed down the cause of

death r a baby found yesterday. yolo county deputies say justice rees drowned or died of hypothermia. justice rees and his mother disappeared on monday. someone found the mom crying tuesday. search teams worked through the night before finding the baby yesterday morning on the bank of a slough. police said the city's first homicide in two years may have started as a home invasion. the man who was killed hasn't been identified and neither has the suspect. except to say he is 27. a woman who was a friend of the victim was attacked and she remains in critical condition. the crime has shaken the res dents. hundreds of human bones unearthed in fran and now we are get -- in san francisco and now we are getting an idea of where it came from.

now it is drawing to a close. ktvu's christien kafton tells us it started with a remodeling project that turned up more than a thousand human bones. >> reporter: a team of ark yawlgists are looking for clues to a mystery that unfolded in fort mason. . >> a hospital from the 1860 said. and we found a large pit, which is a bone filled pit. >> reporter: four years ago crews preparing to turn this hospital into housing, the remodel came to a halt when crews discovered human bones. >> it took a day to confer with the coroner and with law enforcement to make sure this was not a current scene. >> reporter: teams unearthed skulls, leg bones, arms.

1400 human bones all neatly buried in a small hole in the ground. but not one complete skeleton. >> they were bones when they were placed in the pit itself. >> reporter: buried with the bones, dozens of medicine bottles from the 1860s. all thrown in a trash heap. they have developed a theory about the bones. >> they seem to be related to teaching. thiseem to be -- they seem to be related to examines that took place for determining cause of death. >> they now believe a doctor at the hospital in the 1860s likely used the bones to train new doctors. in the 1880s the new doctors simply dumped the teaching material in a hole in the backyard. >> the next set of doctors were not interested in maintaining them.

>> more work will be done analyzing the remains that were found along with the other materials that were found in the pit. the hope is to make a lot of information about the material available online. christien kafton, ktvu fox 2 news. the long port labor dispute will have a lastic impact on west coast ports -- lasting impact on west coast ports. they plan to ship less cargo through west coast ports for the rest of this year and next year. they were surveyed this week. shippers have been saying this for the last month, meaning their positions have not softened. others say because they are transporting perishables, switching to gulf coast or east coast ports is less likely. teamsters rallied today trying to get the attention of bus driver whose shuttle around tech workers. the drivers are set to cast

>> an explosion at a tech company injured two people and triggered a hazmat call. police say two employees were using hydrogen, it reacted and caused the explosion. they suffered minor burns and were brought to the medical center. there was no risk to the public. the company works on new energy solutions. for the second time in the month b.a.r.t. confirms a passengers with the measles road into san francisco. the patient was on b.a.r.t. last friday afternoon between 4:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

health officials say this is the county's fourth confirmed measles patient. earlier this month another patient road a busier b.a.r.t. line from contra costa county into san francisco. the california highway patrol is kicking off a recruitment campaign to diversify. the diversity of officers is lower than the state patrol. 7-10 chp officers are white. compared to 4-10 californians who are white. this weekend they will hold recruitment seminars across the state including in concord where they are looking to add more women to the force. >> women had a hard road. with the fire departments across the state. many coming under court order and being forced to diversify. >> the california highway patrol will start accepting online applications on monday

removed. >> helps for ground clearance and we can put more capacity through the lines and reach further out with the power into the east bay. >> reporter: now they are installing new insulators. doing this from the air results in little or no environmental impact on the habitat under the tower and have far fewer employees making the dangerous climbs to keep up with the growing demand from the rapidly increasing population of users. >> increase in demand. customers are out there and they need more electricity. >> reporter: the bottom line is to get as much of this new power line up and operating because not only is it more reliable it carries more power.

museum got a kick start today. they donated a million dollars to the city. that money will be used to buy the own fire station one. and then plans call for it to be turn said into a museum. >> we are such a dedicated group, firefighters and retired firefighters, this is going to be an incredible addition to downtown and to the legacy of the fire people. >> the donation was the couple's way of celebrating their 63 anniversary. another $14 million is still needed for the design and renovation. >> 63 years. warriors take on lebron james and the cavaliers in cleveland and some are calling tonight's game a preview of the nba finals. joe fonzi is coming up with sports. now to the news room, gasia mikaelian with a look at what we are working on for ktvu fox 2 news at 7:00 p.m.
