when she was struck. ktvu's cristina rendon is live at police headquarters with more on the investigation. >> reporter: police say the driver took off after the crash. they are hoping anyone with information will come forward and her boyfriend is wanting justice. >> if you shot of her, it would bring a smile to your face. >> reporter: he says she was the love of his life. they were supposed to grow old together. >> she was a practicing buddhist. wouldn't hurt a fly. the fact she was taken from us is devastating. >> reporter: she made hand crafted jewelry, was walking to her studios saturday afternoon. the driver of the car jumped the curve and drove a half block on the sidewalk before hitting a fence and the woman. he is repairing the damage. >> if you look at the tracks, they were going at a high rate

bloody sunday, marching across the edmund pettus bridge in selma, alabama. 50 years ago marchers demanding voting rights for blacks were attacked. that assault and the images the nation witnessed helped to build the momentum for the voting rights act of 1965. today attorney general eric holder spoke. >> reporter: throughout selma, alabama local churches are holding services commemorating the events of bloody sunday. one service in particular taking place at brown chapel church when was a meeting point during the struggles of 1960s. that church invited eric attorney general eric holder -- invited attorney general eric holder. >> they spoke of equality, opportunity, of justice and they also spoke of promises unkept. they made plans to realize a

new york jets running back chris johnson was shot in the shoulder in a deadly drive-by shooting about 4:00 a.m. this morning in orlando, florida. the survivors told police someone pulled up besides them and opened fire. killing one man and wounding chris johnson as well as another person. chris johnson will become a free agent tuesday after a single season with the jets. one of six suspects in the killing of a russian opposition leader boris nemtsov admitted get and another blown himself up. he confessed in a statement to a russian judge. the suspect also was charged but told the court he was not guilty. three more suspects remain in jail. the 55-year-old boris nemtsov was killed last month hours after a radio broadcast critical of substance abuse

this is the inmate that police want to find. he escaped friday afternoon after slipping away from a hospital in the south bay. the sheriff's department has extra patrols and detects out looking for the child molester. ktvu's noelle walker is live at the correctional facility where the inmate was awaiting trial. >> reporter: this is a minimum security county jail where the suspect was being held. he left on friday to go to a medicalpotomy and that is is -- medical appointment and that is is when we made his escape. >> reporter: he made his escape
