>> yeah, we are talking about a warmup, it seems like this winter is atypical, we are talking about temperatures once again zooming back up into the 70s, right now, yesterday we steve was tracking showers in by area. leftover moisture is forming fog out there especially in some of the valley locations, and up in parts of north by as well. current numbers are in the 40s and east, especially near zero right around navado, so you can see those at least the fog really settling in parts of the nor bay. here is the plan for today. partly cloudy skies, patchy dense fog, the temperature time line, the temperature range by 3:00, mid-60s all the way to the mid-70s with mostly sunny skies. that will lead to 70s out there for santa rosa, free monday and

san jose. we'll take a look at your five day because we have a chance of a few showers for part of your weekend, sal right now, he is standing by, he has an update on roadway. we are looking at a commute that is deaf night -- definitely slower. and that is where we are going to begin, westbound traffic is backed up for 15-20 minute delay before you make it on to the bridge and more time added to make your way across that span. a commute in san francisco that is moderate. 880 and north southbound the traffic near the oakland coliseum is okay. farther down we are beginning to see some development of slowing as you drive toward highway 92 and get through the area. i do want to mention the highway 4 is slow as you drive through antioch, it doesn't look bad as you drive through bay point. and there is already slow

traffic coming from the altima pass, still slow traffic on 680. now at 6:02 let's go back to the desk. we want to go back to our breaking news in the south bay, several law enforcement agencies are working together right now in the search for two suspects. fox 2 reporter jeanean been there all morning in a new command center. you are learning what started this. >> reporter: yes, it started with a carjacking in san jose. and the carjacking suspects were then chased on the freeway all the way up to sun any veil, now we are in lossals to, close to mountain view high school because this was the new command post. but the locations keep changing because the suspects keep moving. so very intense, these two men are considered armed and dangerous. to get the latest on where we think they are in these neighborhoods we go to

lieutenant chris monday in a hand. what is the latest on the search. >> at this point we still have our perimeter set up from the initial pursuit. we've been searching all night for two suspect that were involved in this carjacking incident. we've just noticed one suspect we believe hopping fences, back on other side of highway 85, we initially thought one or both of our suspects were on the west side of highway 85 but now we might have one of them on the east side so we are searching that area right now. >> reporter: and as far as -- it was a cadillac escalade that was stolen in san jose, in east san jose, you chased that cadillac escalade up to highway 85 and tell me about where then it went, the suspect bailed from that car, right? >> that's correct. as the suspects were being pursued they ended up going down a dead end street. came to a stop at a creek. the suspects exited the vehicle. as it turns out we located a firearm in the near proximity

to that vehicle. those two suspects fled down into the creek area. we've been searching the area that runs adjacent to i 85 for the whole night. >> and you thought they crawled into a pipe. >> we are still not sure where the suspects are but that is one area that we are looking at right now. >> and lastly, they had a firearm, we don't know if they have more, what do you want the public to know. >> i want the public to know if they see anything out of the ordinary call 911 right away. >> with the san jose police department. the neighborhood in this area near 85 and we are around fremont avenue, again they are not on lockdown, but there are patrol cars -- they are along the freeway, we've seen patrol cars around the neighborhoods, there is some tape up in certain areas, we keep moving it looks like we may be moving again, again these suspects we still don't know exactly where they are at, but we will

resignation of the police chief. this follows an investigation. about midnight when the rally was coming to an end, witnesses ducked for cover as shots rang out which struck the two officers standing out side guarding the station. >> we were all kind of looked down and once we ducked down we saw the cop was shot. >> they were shot because they were police officers. >> the wounded policemen are 32 and 41 years old, one worked for a near by town and the other for st. louis county. police do not have suspects at this time. shooting happened hours after thomas jackson announced he will step down last thursday. now there is a press conference scheduled at the ferguson police department in about an hour from now and we'll bring you those new developments, dave. >> katie, thank you. time is now 6:07, new this

morning, we are learning about another ambulance delay involving the san francisco fire department. now according to documents obtained by ktvu it took almost 13 minutes to get an ambulance to yesterday's mission district fire where five people were hurt, that is 3 minutes longer than department's 10 minute standard for life threatening calls much as you see on the screen shots a call went out for an ambulance at 4:31 a.m. 6.5 minutes later at 4:37 a.m. an ambulance becomes available. but it doesn't get to the fire scene for almost another 6 minutes. just after 4:43 a.m. in the past the fire department cited limited funding, staffing and call volumes. it added 19 new ambulances and more personnel since last summer.

investigators trying to figure out what caused that fire at 24th and treat, firefighters say mohammed and his 6-year-old son and 13-year- old daughter, they were taken to sf general hospital with life threatening injuries, the boy has been moved to the burn unit. he runs the liquor store building below his home. two people sleeping behind a padlock door in the store were res chid. family members said those two were employees who opened the store early. volunteer search teams are preparing now for the final organized search for missing teenager sierra lamar. that search will be this saturday two days shy of the third anniversary. sierra's family says it's a hard decision to stop the search but there is no other place to look.

her body has not been found. your time can 0ed -- 6:09. more than a dozen teaching jobs are being cut. the teachers protested before last night's school district meeting, the teachers protested a plan to lay off 17 full time teachers to help close a $2 million budget deficit. >> teachers and staff we are all very frustrated we haven't had a raise, this is our 9th year now. >> the district maintains that the quality of education is to the highest and the best that we can afford. also in terms of putting the highly qualified teachers with children every day. >> well the school board voted 4-1 in favor of the job cuts. those layoffs also mean classroom sizes will increase to 31. that is the maximum classroom size allowed. well an old dive bar in san francisco's castro neighborhood may be doomed under a plan

filed with the city. the plan calls for the lucky 13 to be demolished to make way for a condominium project. a developer wants to build a 5 story structure which would include 31 condos and then some ground floor retail. the developer will likely have to battle historic preservationists to get that demolition approved they want any plans of the site to incorporate the historic building. an unusual looking contraption has been seen at the north berkeley parking lot. take a look, this is bart sky watch trailer, it's movable, observation post it allows police officers to keep an eye out for crimes being committed. now the trailer is right now on the ground but it can be raised to different heights. giving police officers a better advantage point. that was put at the berkeley station this week to keep an eye on the increase of bike thefts occurring there.

francisco hopes someone returns a stolen urn that contains her mother's ashes. here is the tear dropped, rn, it was stolen with other items. any one with information is asked to call san francisco police. a san francisco cab driver is out of the hospital this morning after a bizarre crash where his cab ended up beneath a pickup truck. have you to see this. this happened on bryant street near the bay bridge on ramp. look at this, police say the cab and a gray car crashed sending the cab into and beneath a truck that was parked on the side of the street. the cab driver stumbled out disoriented. >> literally like nothing i had ever seen, the car was elevated 10 feet in the air sitting on top of a prius, it looked fake. >> family members say the cab driver is in some pain but he

want to mention that traffic is going to be busy on the macarthur maze approach to this. westbound 24 looks okay if you are driving from the walnut creek area to oakland, a little bit of fog there as you can see at the bottom of the screen, it's a moderate commute taking 11 minutes and the morning commute on the livermore valley. and traffic is slow, 680 is slow getting away from the pleasanton area. and we have a lot of fender benders popping up on 880 south and on westbound 580 at 238 so this is a commute where you need extra time this morning. 6:18 let's go to mark who is in the weather center. good morning to you and yeah, watch out for that fog if you are driving the roadways this morning because some areas have relatively clear skies. a sudden dropoff invoicable, here is a live camera looking out toward the bay bridge, you can see a hint of a one patch

-- and then by 3:00, mid-60s, mostly sunny skies, that warming trend will continue over the next few days much here is a look at forecast highs, a good 4-8 degrees, even 10 degrees warmer than yesterday's readings, so that will translate to 70s out there, napa, concord, livermore and san jose 74 degrees. five day forecast but sal right now is standing by, he has an update on bay area roadways. right now the roadways are looking like when i left them about a week and a haling a here. bay bridge toll plaza we are going to start there, and you are going to see slow traffic building up at the toll plaza, no major problems on the bridge but you will be waiting, traffic is not affected by any accidents or stalled vehicles on that bridge into san francisco but you will see a lot of slow traffic through the area. i also want to mention the traffic in san francisco on 101 northbound is going to be

heavy, no major problems there as you drive through. i have a different view here of the macarthur maze as we go to our system here, you can see how traffic coming around the maze is going to be slow coming through. so please give yourself extra time as you come through, it is taking 24 minutes to drive from the bridge to the macarthur maze, if you are driving in an jose right now, traffic is a little bit better than i thought it would be, we still have a little bit of time to jump ahead of those commutes before they get too crowded. we are still following breaking news for you in santa clara county, lots going on, san jose police along with several other law enforcement agencies they are out there searching for two carjacking suspects. ktvu fox 2 jeanean says this search has really moved across the northern part of the counties as early this morning. >> yeah, dave in the past hour and a half, we have moved 3

times, we've been back and fort between sunnyvale and lossals to, the two suspects keep moving since they are still searching if them, they are still at large, right now we are in a neighborhood off 85, you can see they have this area roped off and right now there are two swat teams which are referred to merge units there from san jose, they are here looking for those two carjacking suspect, this all started around midnight when a cadillac escalade was carjacked by two men with a handgun. police spotted that vehicle near meridian and willow in san jose and they tried to stop it but the car would not stop, they ended up chasing it on 280 to highway 85 all the way up to sun any veil, the two member ended up bailing out of that escalade in a neighborhood on

remington avenue. law enforcement from lossals to, santa clara sheriff he department they are all here to find the two men that are considered armed and dangerous. >> they did produce a gun when they stole the victim's vehicle, we have found a gun, i don't know if they possess any additional weapons so we are treating them as a serious threat at this time. >> >> reporter: now a little bit back, police did get a report that a man was seen jumping fences in this neighborhood where we are right now. so, again, they have this area, it's not locked down, there are patrol cars everywhere. they are looking here, there was also some officers who were near stevens creek and they were searching a drainage pipe and they had a special camera, they were looking inside there because they thought they heard voices and maybe the suspects climbed into that pipe. they are spread out but this is the latest area where they have concentrated their search and they are telling the public if

this disturbing discovery near a popular playground. >> that is right. good morning to you. at this point county officials are saying not to be concerned, nonetheless as you mentioned they do want to get the word out just in case this bat had contact with others or even pets. now, this is where the president was discovered last friday. it was at the wally pond irving community center in fremont. it was dead by the time a community center employee found it. health officials say a person used a stick to move it to a near by bush, animal services picked it upset and discovered it had ray wees, exposure to humans can be fatal. even though a rabid bat was found at this point animal control says no real cause for alarm. >> in general the general public doesn't need to worry but we want to get the message out because we are not sure who came in contact with that bat, if they have a child that may

have touched it or played with it, to let us know. >> alameda healthcare officials say they get 2-6 reports of dead bats per year, what is concerning for parents that attend this community center is that there are no warning signs of the rabid president that was found. they say there are bites barely visible, they can go unnoticed, people who are exposed to ray bows but don't get the vaccine can develop symptoms 1-3 months after exposure, the reason why the presidents are here -- the reason the pats are here is unclear. back to you. >> all right. thank you bryant for that update. interesting. 6:38 is the time l is new information this morning about the deadly shooting of an oakland mother who was trying to protect her children from gun fire, 30-year-old camille pierce was fatally shot right

near her home, so far no arrests were made, about 15 minutes before the shooting, someone called 911 to say that police should come because violence was about to break out. the paper says dispatchers did not immediately alert police. neighbors also tell the paper a drug house was the source of hundreds of complaints over the years. oakland police raided that house last know but illegal activity continues. time is 6:39, officials at the port of oakland expect full operations to resume today, that is after one of the five port terminals was shut done yesterday. managers at the international terminal should down operations yesterday morning about 10:30, the union says 45 dock worker were fired and sent home after a disagreement over how many workers should be operating yard cranes. the managers say the recent labor agreement specifies two workers per crane. but the workers were refusing

to operate the cranes unless that number was increased to three. the terminal shut down hurt truck driver whose have been frustrated by labor problems at the port for months. >> you can't just shut down the port and expect somebody else not to make a living. so they have to think about that, not just themselves. >> port officials say the over maul operations are getting better with just four ships wait to go dock yesterday, that's down from 20 of them waiting last month. >> but they add the labor problems are making the port of oakland look less reliable to shippers. it could still be weeks before long shore workers vote on a contract agreement made last month. all right. time now is 6:40 and there is a proposal to build more condos in san francisco, but demolishing a historic bar. we are live in antioch where police are searching for

automated digital message letting the parents know a girl was approached, she was walking in the rain on the 2200 block of sick a more drive when the unshaven man pulled up next to her and asked if she want add ride, she took off running east on sick a more, the car followed and he again asked her to get in the car. she then ran several blocks to the high school where she reported an incident to the security guard. they haven't determined whether the man has committed any crime, his suv was similar to a pt cruiser, we are here at the middle school where we are hoping to get reaction to the parents this morning. live antioch, i am karen, back to you. >> thank you, for that update, scary mr. time is now 6:45, the by area we are a step closer now to having no human toll takers on local bridges after the bay area toll authority they approved a study on going all electronic.

the metropolitan trade commission they oversee the bay bridges. the toll plazas at all those bridges they are traffic bottlenecks, they say eliminating toll takers would have a lot of benefits. >> for traffic operations recognize the benefits for air quality and of course the ability for the pub resaw tee, to save money. >> the cost savings would come by eliminating 250 toll taker jobs. all tolls are already collected electronically. the golden gate bridge district says they saved $1.4 million a year since they switched over two years ago. the mtc study that will start next february but it could take years to convert all the state owned bridges to fully electronic toll taker. it is now 6:46 i want to check in with torrey campbell
