a lot of neighbors are out here along the area where the street blocked off, right at shell avenue. police got the cal1:00 p.m. this fron. they received multiple 911 call -- afternoon. they received multiple 911 calls. if you look at pictures that we shot from sky fox. there was a tractor-trailer in the area carrying gravel, it was working on improving the sidewalks here on the street. this is part of a project to improve the streets in the neighborhood. this was a subcontracted trailer who was at the area. they are not saying if the truck was moving or not but it tipped over and crushed a person inside a car. police again are not saying if any of the -- if the truck or the tractor-trailer was moving at the time or if the car was moving but neighbors 3rd accident and came out to see

what happened. >> when they dug it was soft so the tire slid off and the truck fell into the ditch. the dirt inside the trailer fell on top of the car and crushed the car. >> the trailer belongs to a company called greg's trucking. the owner has no idea how it happened. it appears to be a freak accident. those are things police are trying to look into. we thowner said -- the owner said the person who was inside the truck at the time was an experienced driver. >> very good driver. been with me 25 years. excellent record. terrific guy. family man. great guy. >> reporter: this area is going to remain closed for several more hours. police are telling us they brought in help to help rediagram the accident to figure out what happened. this area is still roped off.

a lot of people distraught by what they are seeing. police aren't saying who the victim is but according to neighbors, it was a woman who passed away. >> gustations pictures there are horrible -- just -- pictures there are horrible. did the woman live in the area? >> reporter: right. neighbors tell us she lived at the home and she was possibly backing out of the driveway at the time. police don't want to confirm anything. they are trying to figure out if she was moving or happened to be at the car and it wasn't moving but she did live in the area according to neighbors. >> cristina rendon, thank you. developing news. a police stand off is underway, a burglary suspect barricaded himself inside a home. live pictures right here at the

police activity. police tell us a man who is hispanic broke into the home that was occupied by a 90-year- old woman and her care giver. they were able to get away. officers are trying to negotiate with the suspect but haven't had success yet. >> the suspect is not known to be armed at this time however due to the violent nature of the crime we are taking it seriously. >> police say the situation began when the suspect was spotted in the backyard of a home. when police arrived he took off and broke into the home. they are asking people to stay away from the scene or stay inside their homes. san francisco police under scrutiny in the city and at the supreme court. justices heard arguments about a san francisco police shooting in 2008. this as the department prepares for a meeting regarding another police shooting from last week. ktvu's david stevenson is in

tried to lure her into a vehicle vehicle. authorities identified a man who fell to her death this weekend at point reyes national seashore. we have video from the sheriff's department. that shows the landslide near arch rock. the sheriff's department identified the victim as nancy blum of san francisco. she was a teacher. a crack in the land was discovered on wednesday. warning signs were posted but no one expected the trail to give way. >> i think what shocked us was how quickly we saw this crack in the ground there and how quickly it broke off. we never experienced anything like that. >> another hiker was injured and airlifted to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. the area leading up to arch rock is now closed. tonight we be the first

we have new developments tonight about a shooting outside el cerrito high school last friday afternoon. police say they arrested three students this morning in connection with the shooting. two are 16, the third 17 years old. they are suspected of shooting a 19-year-old man.

today police said the victim known as jackie refused to participate in their investigation and that they could not stasht a party took -- substasht a party took place and that she was raped. . >> that doesn't mean something did not happen to jackie. we are just not able to gather facts to conclude what that something may have been. >> he said the case is not closed but it is suspended till police are able to gather more information. the president of afghanistan is in the u.s. for meetings with the obama administration. he met with secretary of state john kerry. he thanked american troops at the pentagon. he said the presence of u.s. forces in afghanistan is critical to making sure islamic state militants don't gain a foot hold in his country.

a restaurant with stunning views along the san francisco water front could be operating on borrow time. they are located on peer 2 near the ferry building. been there for four decades but the owner ignored a deadline to move out and the business is now officially trespassing. the port wants to demolish the building to make way for a new terminal. they were served with a 30 day notice to vacate. the restaurant hopes to remain open on a month to month lease till the project moves forward. police identified two men involved in a murder-suicide at a senior housing complex. it shooting happened thursday afternoon -- happened thursday

we are learning more about the lead up to super bowl 50 which will be at levi stadium. the golden anniversary game. for the season the 50-yard line at every stadium in the nfl will be painted gold as part of the celebration titled on the 50. according it nfl.com. that is not the only thing that will be gold. nfl officials also revealed the 2016 pro bowl uniforms today.

today san francisco police are under scrutiny over three officer involved shootings. good evening. julie haener is here now for what we are working on for 6:00 p.m. >> protesters marked one year since officers shot and killed a man in the mission district. the u.s. supreme court heard arguments about a police shooting in 200068 the department -- 2008 and the department is holding a meeting on another officer involved shooting. ktvu's david stevenson where the meeting just began. a lot of people there? >> reporter: they are starting to stream in. this is held at a church this time in san francisco. it will focus on a woman shot by police last week after she stole a car and caused havoc in the streets. the supreme court is set to look at how police dealt with conflicts with the mentally ill. >> reporter: protesters rallied outside the san francisco police department on the
