me is where this reported kidnapping happened. neighbors say a bizarre unusual crime for this neighborhood and police say there's a lot of information they can't release because of the nature of the investigation. the neighbor's father is upset but also confused about what exactly happened to his daughter. >> the father of a missing vallejo woman is a hard working woman that loved her job. >> i know the kind of person she is and i know that she's fighting. she's fighting. i know that. and so that gives me a lot of confidence because i know what kind of person she is. >> crime scene tape blocked off this block where 29-year-old denise was reportedly abducted from her boyfriend's home. >> at this moment her where abouts are unknown. >> her boy friend told police during the early morning hours

an assail ant took his girlfriend from his home and demanded ransom. now the boyfriend is not a person of interest. >> the only thing that would make any sense to me would be if he was constrained some way and he couldn't do anything. but other than that, that doesn't make any sense to me at all. >> next door neighbor said he heard nothing overnight to indicate any struggle or commotion. >> the detectives asked us that question, too. >> he said he never noticed any problems between the couple in the past. >> never saw them argue. never heard any arguing. i saw them on walks a couple of other times. >> this afternoon search and rescue crews combed through the marsh behind the home. say he has lived in the house for the last 3 or 4 years.

her father said he never met her boyfriend. >> denise is the kind of person she won't be in a relationship where there is turmoil. she's not that person. she's just would walk away from that. >> another strange detail in this story. police say sometime after she was believed to be abducted someone moved huskins car from her boyfriend's home. but police couldn't go into that and what that could mean. >> police are treating this as a kidnapping for ransom, are you aware of any contact from the kidnappers asking for ransom? >> that's one of the things that was asked of police this morning and they said that's one other item they can't go into detail about. a lot of times during the press conference police said we can't go into detail about that.

again stressing the sensitive nature of this investigation. >> well, that's certainly understandable. all right, ali reporting live for us. one more look at the woman who authorities are desperately trying to find. this is 30-year-old denise huskins. if you have seen her, have any idea where she is you are asked to contact police. a man hunt is on for a suspect, why he was assigned to duty that required him to go outside the jail. this is the man authorities are looking for. if you see him, call 911. don't approach him. david stephenson joins us and this is the second time in less than a year an inmate has escaped from jail doing this garbage duty, isn't it? >> it is. this inmate is now looking at increased federal penalties while the sheriff's department is looking why that possibly dangerous inmate was allowed to do outside work.

facing a significant amount of prison time. >> he's not a violent person. he was more likely than not to -- if he were to be trapped. >> still is the sheriff's department says anyone who spots gonzales should avoid contact with him and call 911. the sheriff's deputy who was supervising gonzales has been removed from inmates. >> are inmates still being assign to do this kind of work? >> we spoke to the sheriff's department about that and they said yes, certain inmates are still approved to do some things but they are looking in bringing in outside contractors, again bringing the trash down from the jail or other inmates who are serving

their time outside the facility. they are thinking about bringing them in to remove the trash as well. you will certainly remember an inmate in san jose escaped at the beginning of this month. he still hasn't been found. he is accused of child molestation. he overpowered a deputy during a medical appointment. a plane carrying 150 people crashed into the french alps this morning. the plane essentially disintegrated on impact. tom has been monitoring the news coming from the crash scene. you recallunfortunately it looks like no one survived. >> it's late in the french alps meaning there will be no progress in the next few hours to recover the passengers and crew. it's called a german wings airbus. >> about 700 miles into its

police responded to records of gunfire in the -- his name hasn't been released. so far no arrests have been made. stunned, that's what many people are feeling after an unthinkable accident that claimed the life of a young mother. 32-year-old lindsey colmes was killed when a gravel truck rolled right on top of her car crushing the car and killing her instantly. we have confirmed that she was pregnant with her second child. noel at the scene tonight. some neighbors there are lived that the construction crews were back out this morning, less than 24 hours after it happened. >> that's right. they are finished right now. this all happened three houses down. this wasn't a case of lindsey colmes being in the wrong place at the wrong time. almost unbelievably she was asked to be in that place when tragedy struck.

these are live pictures from sky fox, our helicopter looking at the roof of a house that has collapsed. a 2 alarm fire broke out on tomlinson lane. near interstate 680. you can see the fire looks like it's pretty much out right now but it caused extensive damage to the garage and also part of that house. we are not aware of any injuries but again, live pictures here from tomlinson lane in san jose where a house fire has caused extensive damage to this home on tomlinson lane. another fire was in mel pete is earlier today and it threatened other homes, it was under control about 25 minutes later. firefighters say the fire caused extensive damage to the living area but they are still working on a damage estimate. so music fans will be excited to hear the line up for

go until a few hours later. >> the hills are prime for people to hike and that's what 2 men and a woman did on monday. >> they had decided for the purpose of hiking. >> at some point they got separated and the woman apparently got lost. the men went to a fire station for help, then one went back out to search for her and for a time he was missing as well. >> sensearch and rescue teams and began what we call -- searches. they were unsuccessful in trying to locate the two individuals. >> the man later returned. eventually the woman named jennifer bear reappeared at the car and that's where it gets weird. >> apparently she was not as lost as first believed and the fact of the matter appears she was just trying to avoid contact with law enforcement. >> despite a warrant, but she was allowed to leave.

the al meet a board of supervisors voted to increase the amount of money spent on social programs adopting a philosophy called jobs not jails. supervisors approved boosting on social programs to 50% that the county gets from the state. that's part of the program governor brown championed to move inmates from state prison toss county jails. currently about 20% of realignment money goes to. >> keith carson has put together a proposal so that 50% of the county's safety money will go toward supporting reentry services so that people not only get out of the system but are able to stay out of the system. >> it remains to be seen how the decision will affect law

warming trends. they won't be much off shore tomorrow but on thursday the winds are going to come a little more off shore. so that's where we're getting the mid-80s, saturday, it's that coastal fog. that's how you know things are stabilizing. high pressure, you need a really fair weather environment to get this kinds of stuff to form. a little break tomorrow night, but still coastal fog and then it comes back on thursday morning, actually more stable. and see, it's going to get warmer thursday. it's pushing through the gaps and then thursday is your warmest day because it's getting swished down. i didn't show you any rain there, i just showed you variations in fog. do we get records in this? probably not. well, you could but it's tough to get records this time of year, days are getting longer. it's much easier to knock a

in sacramento today the women's caucus presented more than 2 dozen bills in improving the lives of women. the lawmakers say its on giving fair pay and also access to child care, family friendly workplaces and help eliminate poverty. they say this will all be good for california. >> we believe it's going to
