a deadly shooting on the door step of the national security agency. gun fire erupts at the agency headquarters. we have developing news in maryland where security guards opened fire as a car tried to crash through the gate. what we are learning near baltimore. good afternoon, brian. >> reporter: it is an active

scene. one person is killed. another is in serious condition as they tried to ram the gate of the nsa. local media say the men tried crashes the gate after 9:00 a.m. eastern time. a police officer that guards the facility opened fire when they didn't stop. one person in the car was killed another critically injured. we understand a police officer is also being treated at a nearby hospital. it is unclear as to why that car crashed into the gate. what is peculiar is the men were dressed as women. that is the report from d.c. the fbi is handling the investigation. they released a statement. the shooting scene is contained. we do not believe it is related to terrorism. we have working with agencies,

our evidence response team is processing the crime scene and doing joint interviews with witnesses and working to determine if federal charges are warranted. fort meade is one of the securist in the country. it is the largest single employer in maryland. the campus is home to the nsa, the defense information systems agency and cyber command. this isn't the only time the nsa campus was damaged this month. we will keep you updated for any changing developments. back to you. thank you, brian. prosecutors rested their case against the boston marathon bomber. the 3 people killed in the

attack including 8-year-old martin richard and heard graphic detail of their injuries. dzhokhar tsarnaev heard testimony. his brother was killed in a gun battle with police. a 9-year-old boy is recovering. he fell 40 feet on to a jagged cliff. by the time rescuers a riffed people brought the boy up. he was taken to children's hospital in oakland. this is the second time a child was hurt in a fall in the last 6 months. in november a 4-year-old tumbled 400 feet.

he spent 2 months in the hospital. a man involved in what vallejo police believe was a kidnapping hoax. he says police have it all wrong. he is not saying what the e- mail says but shows his client was not involved in the kidnapping of denise hoskin ss. she turned up in huntington beach. concern mounting for a uc berkeley soccer player who has not been seen. he was last seen leaving a fraternity party this weekend. chris. >> reporter: his mother is here

on the uc campus. she talked to reporters. these are her words, she is really scared. her son is a responsible young man and not like him to disappear. missing person posters for the 19-year-old can be seen on every tree on the uc campus. he left a party at the tke fraternity house and hasn't been seen since. his uncle told us that he made phone calls. theicate the case has been turned over to lapd. other reports are saying that he called a couple of friends and said he was lost.

water main break along eggers drive. it was caused by a private contractor. it was close to washington high school. the school notified parents but school is in session. there is no word yet on when it will reopen. the estate for robin williams went before a judge today. they were in a san francisco courtroom. both sides have agreed to try to resolve the dispute out of court. they are arguing over clothing and one california home. the widow says the children took jewelry and memorabilia including his academy award without his permission. they took what their father wanted them to have.
