thank you. jeb bush supports indiana's religious freedom law. he is scheduled to attend fundraisers tomorrow here. he plans to ask for money for his run for the white house. but many firms are vocal about their opposition to the law. he says the law doesn't allow discrimination. oakland police made a 4th arrest in the deadly shooting of a mother who was trying trying to protect her children. chyemil pierce was hit by a stray bullet. 30-year-old mother of three was struck by a stray bullet and killed as she tried to shield her children from gunfire. the 4 4th suspect is a 21-year- old, police say he didn't fire a gun but was armed. originally he was arrested as an accessory to the crime but now police are charging him with murder although they haven't said why. investigators also say they are

looking for other suspects. and new data shows fewer guns were fired in oakland last year. the city saw 26% drop in gunfire in 2014 compared to 2013. most of the shots were fired in east oakland. oakland's system covers 13 square miles of city streets. san bruno leaders won't be satisfied with fined against pg&e for the san bruno pipeline explosion that killed 8 people and devastated the community. the mayor agrees with the c.p.u.c.'s fine of $1.6 billion but he also wants a monitor toover see the relation -- to over see the relationship moving forward. another bizarre twist in the kidnapping case that police are calling a hoax.

someone claiming to be the kidnapper is sending e-mails threatening police and demanding officers apologize. more now from ktvu's john sasaki. the victim and her boyfriend are still sticking to their story? >> reporter: as far as we know. we are outside police headquarters. we are hoping investigators would shed light on this case but that hasn't happened. this home where the kidnapping happened was quiet today. a series of e-mails sent to the chronicle from someone claiming to be denise huskins' kidnappers. they say they want to clear denise huskins' name. they include a threat against police demanding they apologize to denise huskins and her boyfriend for saying it was a hoax. the deadline was noon today and nothing happened since. this started on march 23 when denise huskins' boyfriend called police to say she was kidnapped. two days later she turned up

sky fox. the driver may have been a robbery suspect and according to police the driver crashed into another car and then took off on foot. the driver who was in the car that was hit had to be taken away by ambulance. we do not know the extense of their injuries. please are closing off streets as they investigate in the area of market and 37th where a possible robbery suspect has crashed into another car and taken off on foot. we are working to get more information. if we do we will bring it to you. we know the name of a woman who was struck and killed by a car during a jog. the woman was hit while crossing the street nearby the water front. the medical examiners identified the victim as a 23- year-old. she had gone out for a jog at 6:00 a.m. this morning. neighbors are angry because there is no stop sign at that

intersection and it is the same spot where a boy was killed by a car 9 years ago. >> if there was a stop that would help a lot for others. and for the future. >> the driver of the car stopped and cooperated with officers. friends tell us the victim worked at a nearby clinic and studsying to buy a nurse and -- studying studying to be a nurse. police say an officer suffered minor injuries in an accident with another driver who may have run a red light. the two cars collided near 8th and harrison. the officer was taken to the hospital with injuries that weren't too serious. the other driver was okay and witnesses say it was that driver who ran the red light. investigators are trying to verify that and determine who had the right of way. new at 6:00 p.m. a test of technology in the east bay. it could help shape the future

with music to get them going, a rally and march was held in oakland for public education. teachers, parents and students gathered to support teachers in their contract negotiations with the school district. >> our teachers are at every level under paid, paid less than any other neighboring district and less than any district in the state. >> besides more pay the demands are for smaller class sizes and

more counselors, nurses and librarian. the school district is committed to the negotiations and offered a 13.5% pay hike over 18 months. the district says that is the largest that it could afford. kaiser is launching a study on autism and it is looking for people to take part. they want to collect data from two biological parents and a child diagnosed with autism. they are hoping to gather that data from 5,000 families. the goal is to create a resource for effective treatment. new at 6:00 p.m. a close call for an 11-year-old boy. a man drove his truck through the wall of the boy's bedroom. it sent the boy flying across the room but he is actuality okay and sharing his story with ktvu fox 2 news. claudine wong spoke with the boy and his parents and learned the driver is now behind bars facing hit and run and drug

here. >> reporter: claudine wong, ktvu fox 2 news. developing news now, evacuations underway in southern california as a wildfire gets clothier to homes. the fire is -- closer to homes. the fire is in mohave narrows regional park in san bernardino county. 70 acres burned. 200 firefighters are battling the fire. at this point there is zero containment. you can see just how close the flames are getting to the houses in the area. and to make matters worse the wind is picking up which makes fighting the fire that much more difficult. >> so early in the season to talk about wildfires. let's go to our forecast. >> what they are experiencing there, exactly what we are experiencing here. gusty conditions here and that will continue in san bernardino for the next 24 hours like we see it here as well. typical in the spring to get
