he was killed in a probably mortar attack. live in hayward, where we learn had he left behind three children and a baby on the way. >> reporter: heather, that is the hardest part for those who knew al- labani and many have gathered here and just finished the prayer service and they are here pomourn together. al-labani is the first american killed in yemen, arriving in united states 20 years ago and lived in oakland and he was a quiet, family man who will be missed. >> it's really sad, the community here are still shocked and people, his customers, even the warehouse he used to grab groceries from, they are all really surprised. >> reporter: tears were in his eyes when he looked at his cousin's three children, knowing that they will grow up without a father. his cousin has another child on the way he will never meet. >> he was a solid, quiet guy, always tried to stay away from

problems and he doesn't get in anybody's produce. labani had traveled to yemen to visit his wife and 2-year-old daughter. last tuesday the oakland gas station owner was walking home in aden when he and his 14-year- old nephew were hit by mortars. both died. shi'ite rebels are thought to be responsible for the strive. al-labani feels that the u.s. government abandoned his cousin. >> i don't know yemeni- americans are considered real american citizens. >> reporter: the bay area council on american-islamic relations is call for the evacuation of all u.s. citizens in yemen and wants u.s. government to open up its diplomatic channels. they launched this website "stuck in yemen.com for trapped citizen and so far have received a hundred complaints. bev the largest military in the

world and to see that smaller, let stable countries are able to get their citizens out and the u.s. government is saying it's impossible is difficult to believe and very disappointing. >> reporter: hopes that the u.s. government takes more action as he fears the lives of more yepeni- americans will be olost. >> if we don't act, things will get worse and worse. u.s. state department recordedly has travel advisories in yemen, but said it can only offer limited assistance since it is now closed u.s. ambassy there. >> such a sad time for that family. thank you very much. a former richmond police officer has filed a federal lawsuit claiming he was wrongfully fired after police chief magnus allegedly made unwanted sexual advances to him. the san francisco chronicle reports that the chief touched him unappropriately and made

unwanted calls to his phone. he claims that magnus, who is gay fired him in retaliation and hodge child's purchase of unregistered guns. the chief call it "a new low and a desperate attempt to intimidate him," and man found badly injured has died. officers found that man suffering from traumatic injuries on martin luther king, jr. way and west grand avenue just before 12:30 this morning. investigators haven't yet said how that man was injured. in san josi a man was struck and killed early this morning as hes with was trying to walk across highway 101 in san josi. it happened about 3:30 in morning in the southbound lanes north of the 280 interchange. driver of the car that struck the man was not hurt, but a passenger inside suffered minor injuries. the accident closed two lanes of 101 until 10:00 this morning. investigators haven't yet said why that was man walking on the highway. demonstrators marched in

san francisco's mission district to draw attention to the disappearance of 43 college students in mexico. >> the marchers want to know what happened to the students who went missing last september? mexican authorities have said it appears that the teacher- trainees were kidnapped by corrupt police who hand-held over to drug gangs who killed them. others want more complete answers. organizers are calling for the u.s. to suspend military aid to the mexican government. >> internationally, it's reverberated with a lot of people who are parents who have their college-aged student goes missing at the hands of a government, a government that our taxpayers contribute to. >> on-hand today a caravan, including parents of some of the missing student on their way to washington, d.c. to talk to u.s. lawmakers. well, it was a mostly sunny

day across the bay area, but that is about to change and ktvu meteorologist mark tamayo is here with details on rain heading our way for easter, mark. >> that is right, david and, in fact, a changing weather pattern already probably noticed the clouds increasing over the past few hours. here can you pick out of overall weather pattern. the cold front approaching the area tonight will be the source of rain showers for former and the central of the countriation, the stronger part of the storm moves into the region. first system is for easter sunday and keep that many mind for the easter-egg hunt and stronger storm on thursday could that could produce heavier rain and gusty winds. here is latest right now on live stormtracker 2, can you see the clouds marching into parts of state and you will notice a few rain showers and spottily is light showers approaching parts of mendocino county. the coverage will be on increase over the next 12

african-americans made up 6% of the city's population. the san mateo county sheriff's offices is warning residents of a mountain lion sight, the they are were spotted last night near woodside road and kings mountain flood woodside. people who live in the area should keep an eye out for the animal. expert say it's important to never approach a mountain lion, especially one with offspring and advise you pick up small children and throw rocks or other objects and appear larger by waving your arms. >> the easter bunny paid a visit to the east bay to the delight of children in oakland. mayor libby schaffstarted the campaign. >> kids love it, man. this is a way of giving back

hunts. you will need umbrellas rain showers making a come back. we started the day with mostly sunny skies and heather talked about the wind. you can see the wind chopping up the bay waters and high clouds well. rainfall makes a comeback and over the next five days we're not talking about major accumulations, but still we'll take any crop in the point. rainfall up towards cape mendocino, 2.5". the rf in the bay area will rain between .5" to 1.5" and even some more snow in the sierra. right now on live stormtracker 2, you can see the setsup with lots of clouds moving into the north parts of the state. not much in terms of rain coverage yet on the radar but the rainfall coverage will be on the increase after midnight into early sunday morning. now as far as the winds, you can see the winds up there

fairfield, sfo, look at this observation from the west 30, gusting to 40 miles per hour at last chick at sfo. this is the word i'm not used to using in a long time -- rain -- rain likely into your sunday forecast with temperatures in the 40s. so here is the easter forecast. i will step out of way to show you the easter bunny and as you can see for tomorrow, scattered showers at 7:00. and even at 12:00 with the coverage should be on the decrease somewhat, especially by mid-to late-afternoon wftv some more sunbreaks out there. first system is for tomorrow and we have been talking about this with the rain showers, the system one moves into the area. temperatures only near 60 degrees for afternoon highs. monday we're going go with the chance of showers, but monday into tuesday, the stronger part of the storm will sweep into the region. with that heavier rain, the

possibilities of thunderstorms and some sierra snow. in fact, it's going to be cold enough nofor snow levels down to 3500'. maybe even a little lower as we head into the tuesday forecast. definitely snow in the sierra, winter weather advisory also set for tomorrow. snowfall totals will be 4-8" and snow level comes down to 3000'. i think that will get reissued into the tuesday forecast. tomorrow more scattered showers and the focus will be the southern portions of the region by the afternoon hours. by monday night we'll bump up the rain chances and here we go with the heavier rainfall early tuesday morning and throughout the afternoon hours. we could still have pop up thunderstorms as well. so tuesday could be pretty activity in the bay area. one minute you have sunshine and then the clouds and then you get a thunderstorm out. there san josi61 degrees and
