start. we have a bit of rain showing up in some spots. santa rosa has a bit of clouds. we'll get in closer here. we have a few scattered showers around. santa rosa has some. a few scattered showers reported over the mountains. as we get into the second part of the morning it will be more widespread. here we are at 7:00 a.m. we are now at 8:00 a.m. it's still moving along the coastline. by 10:00 or so it's shifting right across i-80 and into portions of the east bay. san jose is picking up a few

been beautiful so far. dozens have made the hike to be here. they brought their coats and jackets to be safe. i'll step out of the way to show you how beautiful it is this morning. the today marks the 93rd year the service has been held here. every year many leaders gather here. we have the san francisco fire chief that makes the annual appearance. what you are looking at now is the start of the service and local clergy will be prosiding at -- present at the nondenominational service. we do see rain in the distance.

as you can see dozens decided to come up here and chose to spend easter up here this morning. they will have music and more worshipers will be here at the cross. we'll hear more from the clergy this morning. we'll send it back to you guys. >> thanks christian in a. we'll check with in you in just a moment. easter service at the vatican just ended moments ago. he prayed that the world will get service. he's concerned about conflicted a cross the globe. he asked for peace. many christians made their way to the church in bethlehem.

this is the resurrection of jesus. his birthplace is under the church. the annual easter spring celebration is set to get underway in union square. it features free activities for the kids and a visit from the easter bunny. the annual parade will head down union street. the festivities will wrap-up around 5:00 p.m. volunteers will sever thousands of hot meals including a breakfast. yes they hosted an easter egg hunt for children. a car drove down the interstate 80 ramp and drove into a homeless encampment. the car hit a parked hit a

parked vehicle after driving through the homeless encampment. a lavailee las vegas couple that's harmed their 4-year-old child could be on the run. the body was found in the family's home. the girl's 17-year-old sister williams arrested for child abuse with the girls death. the teen has her own 4-month- old daughter. that baby is hospitalized because of severe mall malnurishment. bart is repairing parts of the track.

bart said some of the switches are in bad shape or must be replaced or the trains will have to reduce speed. today is part of a dozen planned track close closures. bart is running a bus bridge between the stations. the track closures will be done around the warriors play off games. this morning violence is marring the final four. a riot broke out near the kentucky campus. angry fans spilled on the streets and set fires. they made 29 arrests while 3 people were taken to the hospital. they described the crowd as

we have a few bits of moisture being seen off the coastline. as we get into parts of the north bay santa rosa reporting showers today. today round one. partly to mostly cloudy skies and a few light showers. round two will come as we get into monday night and tuesday. that will be the stronger. as we get into your sunday temperatures will come down. it will be a cool one out there. rain showers to start the day. by 3:00 it begins to pullout. we have partly cloudy skies for the second part of the afternoon. as we get to monday night into tuesday when it center of the storm moves closer to the bay area we'll get the possibility of thunderstorms. we are talking a half-inch to

an inch of rain with this. the sierra will pick up some snow. this in addition to showing us accumulation will help us have a bit of a timeline of what the models are picking up on. at 7:00 a.m. the rain line to the north of us. notice it shifts. all the way down to the golden gate bridge along i-830. we can expect sprinkles and drizzles in most places. this is were we'll see it. by 10:00 it shifts to san francisco and oakland. into the afternoon we'll have a few scattered showers before it moves out. you don't see a whole lot. a few 100s in san francisco. we are likely to get more then this is some areas.

the monday night into tuesday storm is when we'll be able to see accumulation. as far as the winter weather advisory it goes for the entire day. the sea -- in the sierra you will need chains. in napa we have 44. low 40s around the bay. 50s degrees in hayward. in concord it's upper 40s. a bit of a cool start if you will be outdoors early. if you don't have the sunshine it will feel that much sunnier. 59 in berkeley today. 57 san francisco. you are likely to need at least a extra layer. 61 san jose. 62 for morgan hill. we'll have partly cloudy skies

was involved but have not released information. people remember an oakland man who died while in yeman. a memorial took place in hayward yesterday. he's the first american killed in yeman since the civil war escalated. he loaves behind 3 children and a baby on the way. >> he was a very quite guy. he tried to stay away from possibles. he doesn't get in any ones business. it's tough to absorb. >> shiite rebels are responsible for that attack. the government of kenya identified the mastermind behind the attack. they posted a most wanted

notice for him and offering a reward for 215,000 u.s. dollars. families of some victims went to church for services. other families had to go to a funeral home to identify the bodies. a gathering for the mexican students that disappeared. they met at the school to draw attention to the disappearance to their sons and daughters. it appears the students were kidnapped and they were handed over to a drug gang. some parents are asking for the u.s. to suspend aid to the government. >> this was a human rights violation. they will be in new york city with the united nations. it's to be able to say why are they not taking a position and stop sending money to mexico.

part of your morning hit-or- miss showers sliding into portions of the south bay. the second half of your afternoon is a mix of sun and clouds and dry weather. by the second half of the afternoon it's moving out. that's it. monday we get a bit of a break for the first part of the day. we are here into monday evening and this is round two. take a look at how much more significant this one is. this moves into the north bay. while we sleep it moves through the bay area. by tuesday morning we are left with a few scattered showers. we have more rain in the overnight hours. tuesday afternoon with the very unstable weather in place we'll have the possibility in thunderstorms. we have more active weather coming monday night into tuesday. a rainfall amount anywhere from a quarter of an inch and less

than that. it will be a cool day. low snow. all the way down to 3,000 feet. if you travel to the sierra this should be your concern. for us at home upper 50s into low 60s in the forecast. expect cool and breezy conditions for your seasoned. 44 in nevada. 46 in mountainview. >> when was the last time we saw highs in the 50s and 60s. we have been locked into the 60s and low 70s. we had record heat last weekend. there you have it. temperatures will remain on the cool side. monday will remain dry until the afternoon. >> the good news for people doing outdoor activities is later that rain show clear out. >> if you don't like the rain

you will have trouble getting over the bridges this morning if you travel for the holiday. as you take a look at storm tracker too there is not a lot of rainout there. there where you say a bit of drizzle at times. we showed you a live shot with a two-cycles two-cycle -- few sprinkles on the screen. we have two parts to this system. here is the low. right in here. it will drop into the bay area. by monday night into tuesday it will bring with it a stronger waive. it will also bring the unstable air. when that happens. by tuesday afternoon there is the possibility of thunderstorms. upper 50s and low 60s in the forecast for your afternoon. we'll have that morning rain and showers. we are partly cloudy to mostly

cloudy. only a few one hundreds of rain with this. we'll take it but not a lot. this is the second system that comes monday nigh into tuesday that will bring more sierra snow. we'll bring the possibility with this round. this time we are looking at any where from a half-inch to inch of rain for the bay area. gear up for that one. it will be enough to wet the ground. it begins to shift at 9:00. notice the green on the screen. it hasn't shifted south yet. it takes most of the morning before it works it's way south. we are done and looking at 1 to 2 inches of an inch. that advisory will last all day. we look at 4 to 8 inches of strengthener sn -- fresh snow. it will be 47 in napa.

a couple wanted in connection with the death of their three-year-old child could be in oakland or possibly los angeles. the body was found thursday in the family's home. the girl's 17-year-old sister was arrested for child abuse in connection with the death and the teen has her own daughter. that girl has been hospitalized because of severe m malnourishment. services are being held across the world today to
