why officers believe there could be more victims. >> take a live look. golden state warriors and alex savidge gearing up for the playoffs but seeing the team in person is not going to come cheap. just how high tickets have climbed for tonight's game. good morning to you. it is friday april 17th i'm claudine wong in for pam cook. >> good morning, i'm dave clark. let's check on your weather and traffic. rosemary is in for steve. looking good? >> looking good. it might get warm. we have another one in store at least around the bay and inland. temperatures will start to cool as we get along the coastline for today. it has to do with a localized sea breeze that is working its way back into the bay area. giving you a look at -- isn't that a nice shot? over the oakland area. i believe that is lake merit there. wow, what a gorgeous start to the day. the sun is on the rise we have

mostly clear skies with one exception right along the coastline tracking a little bit of fog. the subtle changes coming our way. fairfield reports a light breeze. most of us are calm at this point because of the calm conditions. it's a cooler start for many of us. sfo reporting an on shore breeze at 9 miles an hour. as we get into the second half of the day the on shore breeze will cool down the coast in addition to help bring back the low clouds and fog. by 9:00, 10:00 notice partly cloudy. just off the coastline. we have that fog bank right there. down into areas like santa cruz. this is primarily along the west coast here where we have areas like point rays, steven son beach. but notice as we go inland temperatures warming way back into the 70s. a lot of 70s out there. a lot of yellow on the screen. even a few pockets of low 80s in the forecast. you go toward the coast we have

upper 50s to low 60s. this is what i do expect for us today. when i come back,ly put numbers on their screen. a bit of a cool down as we get into the bay area weekend. let's check on the traffic with sal. things are getting a little busier out there. thank you rosemary. right now traffic is moving along a little bit more slowly than it was a half an hour ago. let's start with the bay bridge toll plaza. no major problems on the span itself. as we take a look at interstate 880 in oakland. traffic in both directions is moving along nicely. northbound 101 getting a little bit of slow traffic near mckey road. as we go to the maps whether show it to you. the rest of the commute looks pretty good. as we go over to the peninsula. 101 and 280 are having a decent start. remember we had a rough one here. but today your opportunity is to go before it gets too slow.

right now it looks good. 6:02 let's go back to the desk. the police want to know if you used a certain starbucks in downtown walnut creek. i know that sounds strange but police arrested a man for video taping people in the bathroom. ktvu fox 2 tara moriarty is joining us live. you're at that starbucks to tell us how he did it and how he got caught. >> reporter: he would have gone video taping people if it wasn't for astute customer. now we know that there are 13 victims so far but police believe that there could be more. people who were video taped without their knowledge here at this starbucks on locust street. this is the suspect that we want to show you. 34-year-old jacob turner of benicia police arrested him at home and seized evidence that could reveal more victims. detectives say turner used a

flip video camera. smaller than an iphone to record an hours worth of video on two different occasions. february 6th and april 14th of this year. the camera was concealed under the sink. the customer noticed it and turned it in and then it went into lost and found. a manager turned it on and horrified by what she saw. customers were disgusted. >> you think somebody would like to do that to your family. >> police say turner put up no resistance and had no explanation when they questioned him. he has no sex offender history and no criminal record. while it will be possible to prosecute, they believe those victims have a right to know. again those dates are friday february 6th in the afternoon and tuesday between 2:00 and 3:00. live from walnut creek i'm tara moriarty. back to you.

>> thank you. meantime on the peninsula police over there are searching for a man who exposed himself to a jogger. san mateo police say it happened wednesday night on a pathway near the bay trail and seal point dog park. a female jogger says she heard someone yell when she turned around she saw a man exposing himself. the shock of it made her stumble and fall. >> she did the right thing. she immediately ran home and called the police. >> the man never touched the jogger but her fall caused minor juice on her arm or fore head. he's described as white or hispanic in his 20s. about 5'8" tall and weighing 170 pounds. he was also wearing a button up shirt and pants. traveling cross bay area bridges may be a little more. we will take you outside.

on the bay bridge the chp has issued a high wind warning. you should be a little extra cautious. wind isn't the only concern. a highway warning in effect. waves up to 10-13 feet are expected at some beaches today. and tomorrow the waves will still be as high as 7 feet. the biggest concern for beach goers is the risk of sneaker waves. >> a sneaker wave is a wave in a set that is larger and stronger and usually unexpected. it cobe pretty dangerous to keep it out on the water.

people are also being encolonelled to wear a life jacket. time is 6:06. we are thinking basketball right now. warriors basketball. we are counting down to the warriors nba play off series opener tomorrow afternoon. now the number one seeded warriors they will have your favorites. in fact the vegas odds makers favor the warriors to go all the way to the nba finals. now the tip off for tomorrow's game 12:30. i can tell you tomorrows game is a sellout. tickets still available. you have to pay a heavy price. the average price for a seat $560 per ticket. alex savidge has been hitting

shots out there all if. there is alex right there. he will take a look at the last minute preparations at the arena. way to goal alex. bryan stow was on the ball field yesterday. throwing out the first pitch. janine de la vega shows us how much determination and how much hard work it took to make this happen for bryan stow. what a story janine. >> yes, dave it is. you know bryan stow was so excited and honored to be invited to throw out the first pitch for the san jose giants and he did great. before bryan was actually seriously injured, he used to be a paramedic and he would sit inside the stadium alongside his gun knee ready to treat anybody who needed help.

stow was welcomed by a cheering crowd as he made his way on to the field using a walker. his son and daughter were at his side. he spent the past several years doing rehab. learning to walk again. the giants fan was severely beaten in 2011 outside of dodgers stadium which caused brain damage opinion the san jose giants promise stow's family when he was ready they wanted him to throw out the first pitch. when he stepped on to the mound his practice paid off. earlier in the day ktvu visited stow at home where he shared how he has been doing and how his injury and recovery has changed him. >> trying to find me. it sounds kind of dumb in a way i guess. but it's just me trying to find me now. where i'm at. how far back i got set. how far i need to go forward. >> reporter: stow spent months preparing to throw at last nights game by practicing with

e-cigarettes are often promoted as a way to help people stop smoking but a new report shows e-cigarette use by minors is going up. the centers for disease control and prevention says a number of middle school and high school students using e-cigarettes tripled in one year. about two million teenagers are using e-cigarettes now. >> they are really popular i think because people think there is not a lot of negative side effects. >> things need to be regulated but people are not sure how to regulate them. the fda itself is struggling with that issue. >> even though e-cigarettes do not contain tobacco or create smoke, they usually contain addictive nicotine. california is one of the few states that prohibit the sale of e-cigarettes to minors. time 16:14. a huge partnership between apple and los angeles public

schools is now a giant bust. the l.a. unified school district has canceled what it calls a botched plan to buy an ipad for every one of its students. the price tag was expected to be $1.3 billion. apple and its partner educational material publisher pearson they were supposed to provide curriculum. however, only parts of the curriculum were ever available. school district is now considering legal action against both companies. students here in the bay area and all over the country this week they are taking part in common core standardized tests but in nevada, montana, and north dakota computer problems are forcing schools to delay the tests. in addition to the technical problems, a growing number of participants are pulling their kids out of the classroom and opting out of the test. they say the exams create unnecessary anxiety and stress and don't test their kids on what they are learning every

day in school. >> we're refusing to take this test. it's a protest against these policies that reduce education. >> these tests are serve nothing educational purpose at all. >> the federal government does not allow states -- require states to provide the common core tests. a popular movie has inspired a program to help people who suffer from dementia. >> about a year ago lucy was in a terrible car accident. she lost her short term memory. >> the hebrew home in the bronx says this movie 50 first dates gave one of their employees a great idea. hope the videos will help comfort the patients that are struggle age dealing with a loss of memory. your time is 6:16. and now we always hope for

the rest of us a near repeat with temperatures back into the 70s and low 80s. here's the breeze. 10 miles an hour in napa. 9 san francisco. half-moon bay 8. notice the arrows coming from the west. we are losing that offshore breeze. so that is what we can expect for today. a bit of a transition. most of us not going to feel it. 43-degrees in santa rosa. it is a very cool start over parts of the north bay. we're into the 40s. 49 in concord. 51 san francisco. 54-degrees in fremont. in a nutshell starting out in the low 40s and 50s. temperatures are a little cooler if you had the wind outside your door. chances are if you are calm today, your temperatures are cooler. 77 in richmond for the

afternoon. 80 degrees for novato. 76 as you get into the afternoon for sausalito. for the east bay we have temperatures ranging from the low 80s to concord. 80 degrees for hayward. the santa clara valley for the afternoon we are looking at 82 cupertino. 82 san jose. 82 in milpitas. santa cruz going to be mostly sunny and warm. 81 for redwood city. 72 san bruno. 69 in the city of san francisco. by game time, 60 degrees, sunsets at 7:45 and we will again have that light westerly breeze. the extended forecast here with your bay area weekend always in view. temperatures continuing to come down but still well above average. we are dry through the extended forecast but we do see changes way out anywhere from tuesday, wednesday, and thursday. it looks like we may have scattered showers coming our way. >> we can hope. now rosemary is telling you warmup is is coming across the bay area. coming up at 6:45, why the nice

in san francisco activists and residents are speaking out against evictions. they want the city to adopt an eviction free zone to slow down the displacement of low income residents. they also calling on the city to take properties out of the hands of real estate specklators. time is turning 6:24. the city of palo alto may be the latest city to move to raise the minimum wage for workers. the daily news reports several members of the city council have proposed raising the minimum wage to $9 an hour to $10.30 an hour. the rate will be adjusted annually. the city council committee will debate this plan on tuesday april 28th. it's being called mobile gedon. good l is changing the -- google is changing the way you search on mobile phones and

tablets. mobile friendly means that site loads quickly and easily accessible. websites that don't fit that description they will be demoted. the move is expected to have a big influence on how and when people spend their money. given that most people depend on their smart phones. as part of earth day 2015 volunteers across the bay area are going to get to work to make their cities cleaner. several events are planned tomorrow from the east bay, south bay, to san francisco. in san francisco this years earth day campaign is green fun and sustainable. community members and artists will create works of art in the sand. tomorrows events will kick off earth week. of course showcased by earth day. ktvu has also launched a social media campaign. we want to know how you are helping the environment. all you have to do is use the

it looks like san francisco and you can see fog creeping in. up against the coastline this morning and a little bit of over the city we have the fog back with us. the sea breeze will turn on for the afternoon it will be a light one but it will be there. possibly a slight drop in temperatures.

bridge. san jose is beginning to slow down. a little bit of slowing on 101 but it's definitely lighter volume than it would be on a wednesday or tuesday here on this friday in the south bay. 6:33 let's go back to the desk. >> police are search for people that could be victims of a man that is accused of placing cameras inside public bathrooms. tara moriarty is live outside the starbucks where all the focus is this morning. i know you got more of where this happened and how the man was captured. people may not realize they have been victimized. >> reporter: this is a disturbing story. how many of us have been to a starbucks bathroom. a lot of people scratching their heads trying to figure out was i here at this particular location? we have a couple of dates to throw out at you. we want to mention there are 13

for electronic peeping out victims identities. those dates are friday february 6th in the afternoon and last tuesday between 2:00 and 3:00. live from walnut creek i'm tara moriarty. three people until stable condition this morning. they were stabbed inside of a bar in san leandro. police received 911 calls around 8:40 last night. police found three men that had been stabbed. the suspects ran away before the police arrived. police were seen questioning a man a man was arrested outside of that bar back in february on charges of firing a gun there. however, no weapon was found that night. an 11-year-old boy found a gun in the bushes the next morning.

authorities say foul play is not suspected in the death of a palo alto man who went missing during a hike in an east bay park. search teams found the body of 70-year-old irwin meyers. he went out for a hike wednesday morning. his family called the police when he didn't come back. investigators say at this point it is still not clear what happened. the state water board is expected to release a detailed report about new water rules and how quickly cities and water districts will be fined for violating them. yesterday governor jerry brown met with people who represent large water users including landscapers, golf courses, and cemeteries. he says he is not going to relax that cut back. he is aware it is not going to

be easy. >> somebody is going to be hurt. and so therefore we really want to make sure we balance what we are doing. time is 6:37. there are concerns this morning about repercussions against a group of prominent catholics in san francisco. they were telling me about 100 members of a catholic community took out a full page add asking the pope replace san francisco's archbishop. >> there could be retroabuse for anybody who has signed. i also believe there is safety in numbers. >> this is not a group of fringe lunatics. these are the absolute bedrock of our catholic community. >> others are calling that add

drastic and unacceptable. the ads organizers do not speak for the san francisco catholic community. the pope is headed to the united states in september and now there is word he is considering adding a stop in cuba. vatican says discussions are in a very early stage and no firm decisions have been made. now pope francis is credited with bringing the u.s. and cuba together recently. writing letters to president obama and president raul castro encouraging them to settle the decades old differences between the two countries. it's been 40 years since the warriors won an nba championship. ktvu fox 2 alex savidge has a horrible assignment this morning. he is having a difficult time enjoying his work today at

[ laughter ] >> reporter: this place is going to be electric tomorrow night. it will be absolutely bananas inside of oracle arena and the pelicans come in here and they are going to try and steal game one. the warriors are not going to let them have it. i will tell you the fans they are going to be key tomorrow 12:30 is when this game happens. the first round of the playoffs and there is the motto for the playoffs this year for the warriors. strength in numbers and that is

because the warriors with the best record in the nba they get home court advantage throughout the playoffs and that will be important to make a deep run into the playoff. now the game tomorrow is really important. you want to start off on the right foot. the warriors they have had an unbelievable season. you probably have been watching them. i don't really have to tell you. 67 wins, 15 losses. that is a franchise record for the team and at the same time that is also one of the best records for the regular season in nba history. but all of that doesn't matter one bit. the playoffs come right now and now is when the hard work starts. listen to head coach steve cur. >> i just believe in our guys. the way they have really loose, fun attitude. they come out and play and enjoy it. there is also a discipline to

it that they have shown all year. >> reporter: speaking of the splash brothers. this is video from a warriors practice. that is steph curry just kind of warming up there. but during practice he made 77 three point shots in a row. 77 in a row. he also made 96 out of 100 just sort of casually shooting. so the question this morning guys, how many can i make in a row? what is the over all number on that? >> we believe in you alex. you start with one. i will say, listening to the coach is kind of awesome. he was talking about the gunslinger. i heard him say that before. and how the team doesn't get nervous. the players very, very humble when they talk about going

welcome back to mornings on 2. we expect really nice weather this weekend but it also comes with danger. brian flores along the embarcadero in san francisco. we know the coast guard is saying be careful but that is not the only warning this morning. >> that warning goes out to the east bay this morning. but go ahead and take a look. we're talking about how beautiful it will be this weekend. look at that. picture perfect shot from our photographer sid looking across the bay bridge. you are right. there will be warnings out there. especially in the coast guard talking about sneaker waves. they are issuing it will be dry and windy out as well. as we go to video now, in fact the oakland hills signs put the fire danger at extreme. because of the drought, there is a lot of dry brush that can go up in flames.

for today it will be the coast that fills it. as we know it takes a couple days to trickle inland. for the bay area and inland communities even santa cruz going to be warm. once again for the afternoon. well above the seasonal average. right here along the coastline, partly cloudy for today. we have a localized sea breeze coming back as well. let's squeeze in a little closer. you can see from the richmond district and through an area like pacifica you will find the low clouds this morning. and the fog as well. the winds generally calm. now different from yesterday that we don't have the offshore breeze in most areas. napa reporting a light northerly breeze at 6 miles an hour. when the wind goes calm the cold air settles in. most of us are waking up cooler than where we were. hayward has an offshore breeze at 6 miles an hour. take a look at sfo. we have an offshore breeze. the sea breeze will be cooling

off the coast. around the bay and inland it will take until the weekend before the temperatures fall off. it will not be a huge drop. ly look at that in just a moment. let's take a look at current numbers. 44 degrees outside your door in napa. concord 50. san jose at 53. as we get into the afternoon today, these numbers 5-10 even 12 degrees above the seasonal average. 78 for petaluma. 80 degrees expected for napa. 78 in berkeley. low 80s for walnut creek. 84 in antioch. that will be one of the warmer spots. 80 degrees expected for santa clara. 82 in morgan hill. take note santa cruz mostly sunny and warm. 81 expected there. come along the coast and mid to upper 70s. 81 for redwood city. sol right up over the edge of the coastal rains. temperatures will be quite warm

the parents of the marathon bombing wants to spare the life of one of the killers. eight-year-old martin richard died in the bombing. his parents are asking federal prosecutor it is take the death penalty away. sentencing phase begins next week. the death penalty will bring years of appeals and prolong the most painful day of their lives. after two years they say that is enough. the 13,000 square foot dariovario center is on the alameda in san jose. it's offering services free of charge to u.s. based iranians

and persians. it's being called the comp pensive? social center. this one is a tribute to a very historic event at the end of the vietnam war. 40 years ago during the fall of saigon, thousands of vietnamese orphans were evacuated here to the bay area. ktvu was there when the children and their caretakers arifed. many were adopted here in the bay area and given u.s. citizenship. yesterday we caught up with a woman who was only 15 months old during operation baby lift. she is now 41 years old and married. she visited the exhibit with her adopted parents and she has a very simple message for people that were involved in that operation. >> thank you for taking care of us and for helping and for making sure that we were safe and caring and opening their arms and hearts. >> now this free exhibit is on display until december.
