today. >> reporter: yeah. we talked about the warnings. there are hidden dangers if you're heading towards the water this afternoon. every friday these marines do some type of training exercise rain or shine. last week was climbing and today it is about running bridge to bridge in above average temperatures. >> that's the thing. some times you can never predict the weather. >> reporter: despite the summer- like temps there are hidden dangers. the coast guard says along the northern and central coast expect deadly potential sneaker waves or rip currents. knowing the conditions gave them a plus. >> big waves about 10 to 12 feet. >> reporter: if you're a boater always have a life jacket with you. stay away from rocks and

jetties. for those that don't typically go into the water at the beach -- >> stay away and don't go in. wait for it to calm down a little bit. lit suck you out. >> reporter: oakland fire officials are urging residents to make defensible space around their home. >> everybody bevigilant and be safe. kind in mind your neighbor's fire could be your fire. >> reporter: you can see that the drought obviously having an effect on the dry conditions here. be aware of the sneaker waves as well as for dog owners out there. a lot of people were not in the water today because they were can'ted ability the rip currents out there. >> yeah. i'm sure firefighters really preparing for what could be just a wild wild fire season. hopefully not but they are

definitely getting ready. >> thank you very much for that report. how much will that get today? we have more live right now with rosemary. >> reporter: it's a beautiful day out here. we'll be 5, 10, 15 degrees above the seasonal average but for most of us not as money as yesterday. i want to point you out towards the west. you can see the coastal clouds are back. along the coastline we are actually going to be cooling down for today. it's an on shore breeze. that sea breeze for the afternoon today going to bring the temperatures down. there is a footprint of where the fog lies over the north bay coastline. the only area we have mostly sunny skies on the coast will be the santa cruz area. around the bay and inland it will be warm once again but here is a comparison for you. a whopping 12 or 13 degrees

cooler. oakland will be coming down as well. i'm feeling the breeze outside your shore. the farther inland the chances are you won't feel it just yet. it is maybe even warmer for the afternoon today. the cooling trend will tricken inland as we get to your bay area weekend. >> all right. thank you. emergency crews are out this noontime. they are traveling west on edgewood road. the driver lost control and slammed into the house. chp says the driver narrowly missed hitting a tree and stopped before hitting a garage area. no one was injured. a man complained of pain and was treated there at the scene. they do not know why he lost control of that chevy tahoe but

drugs or alcohol were not guilty in the involved. no con so halt personnel or guards died in this bombing. it went off near a cough fay outside consulate building. isis is claiming responsibility. the u.s. is hitting isis as they advance 100-miles from baghdad. the pentagon says there were 19 air strikes in the last 48 hours. they also promised $200 million for iraqis try to go escape the onslaught of militants. the military gained full control of two towns near the oil refinery. militants are reported killed. families of those killed on german flight 9525 came

>> i feel sorry for what has happened. that's why i am here. >> reporter: it crashed last month killing all of those on bill of indictment evidence from board. the black boxes indicate he locked him the pilot out of the cabin. new cockpit regulations and calls for better medical testing for pilots. there have been suggestions of new technology which would allow authorities on the ground to take control of planes in the skies but also fears that terrorists could hack into that system and try to hijack the system themselves. authorities say foul play is not suspected in the death of a man who went missing. search teams found the body of myers yesterday afternoon. he set out far hike on

wednesday morning. his family notified police when he did not return. invest gate conditionish vest gators fear it is unclear what happened. investigators say he hiked in that area before and was in good physical condition. california health officials say the measles outbreak in the state is now over. the measles scare originated back in december and spread to several states and countries. 131 people were infected. many of them were not vaccinated setting off a debate over the personal belief exemption. in five hours the state water board is expected to release a detailed report about

new water rules. yesterday governor jerry brown met with people including golf courses and cemeteries. he says she won't relax the mandatory 25% water cut backs even though there are complaints it is unfair. it is also expected to detoil how quickly it will be fined for violating the new rules. he is aware it won't be easy. >> some people are really hurt. some farmers said that there's got to be some wipe outs some time or at least temporary. we really want to make sure we balance what we are doing. >> governor brown said she expects people will figure out new ways during this drought. an unnerving discovery this afternoon. they are asking for customers to come forward after a hidden camera was found. and the weekend almost here. we have a look at what you can expect in your bay area forecast as you take a look at

the female victim said she knew the assailant. so far the victim has not connected them directly. the victim reported the violations to a campus authority. police are required to report the crime to the campus community. police want to know if you used a certain starbucks in downtown walnut creek. they arrested recording people in the bathroom of the coffee shop on locust street. police say this is the suspect, 34-year-old jacob turner. investigators seized evidence they say could reveal more victims. he secretly recorded an hour's worth of video with a small camera under a sink. there are at least 13 victims,

andit made up around ocean beach and half-moon bay. you go inland and temperatures are even warmer than we had yesterday. here is a look at how far we are. santa rosa going to 79 for today. oakland 75. yesterday oakland warmed to about 82. again, not as warm but still way above where we should be for this time of year. today you'll go to 82, 12 degrees above the seasonal average. the low clouds and the fog, this future cast model not picking up on that. it stretches from the north bay to the central bay. mostly sunny skies. santa cruz reporting that. as we get into the second half of your afternoon it almost looks like a summer spread. we have 60s along the coast and 70s and 80s. 80s for today and a few pockets in the south bay as well as

inner east bay. take a look. already 81 degrees at this hour. 77 in concord. some of our communities like san jose, these readings slightly warmer than we had 24 hours ago. you get closer to the bay temperatures any where from 4 to this 6 degrees cooler. 68 at oakland and 72 for santa rosa. temperatures along the peninsula mild. we have areas like mid-70s at wood side. palo alto in the 70s. 78 for santa rosa. into the east bay 84 for brentwood. low to mid-70s expected along the shoreline. 82 for -- as we get into the evening hours for game low 60s
