after what we witnessed today. >> reporter: a tenet worries that is raw sewage flowing down the walls. he first shared cell phone video of the problem after getting a letter from management over the weekend saying a city inspector signed off that all repairs were completed. >> they sent us the video but we had to see it for ourselves. he says it has been like this since january. >> doesn't others got letters telling them to pay up or get out. >> reporter: has everything been fixed? >> no. no. >> reporter: 2 investigates uncovered problems at the towers in january. while the city now insists most violations have been fixed tenants say something sinks. >> you are saying you never seen this? >> i didn't see that. >> reporter: we showed the video to the city inspector and

his boss. >> so we are dismayed to hear we missed this one and we will get on it immediately. >> reporter: at this point seeing that and seeing that you signed off on the room, it seems like something fishy is going on? >> you may have your opinion but -- if -- it wasn't intentionally. believe me. >> reporter: he says the view of this area was blocked during inspection. a hotel worker called me into the hall way but he wasn't happy to see our cameras. >> reporter: we are a package deal. >> reporter: he didn't want it talk about what we just witnessed. >> okay. private property. >> reporter: the city inspector did return to that room with the leak today after we showed him the video. they are in the process of fixing it but attorneys say

for right now barry bonds is in the clear after legal expenses and having the word felon attached to his name, he can now live as a care free retiree. 2007 barry bonds was indicted for testimony to a grand jury investigating the distribution of performance enhancing drugs, he was charged with obstruction of justice on the question on whether he ever used a syringe to inject himself and today the obstruction of justice was over turned. barry bonds said: this has been a long and strenuous period in my life; i very much look forward to moving beyond it. i do so without ill will toward anyone. i am excited about what the future holds for me as i embark on the next chapter. lastly and certainly not least, i would like to thank my legal team for their hard work and diligence on my behalf.

whether or not his future includes major league baseball that remains to be seen but he hinted that he might want to play a larger role in helping the giants, his relationship with the team improved over the years and he made appearances at the park including last night for the giants-dodgers game. so far for barry bonds very good year. his name cleared today and he will ball three inducted into the bay area sports hall of fame on may 11 in san francisco. >> the major league baseball hall of fame, last year he got 37% of the vote. you need 75%. he has long way to go. given what happened today, do you see him getting into the baseball hall of fame? >> i can tell employee one thing -- tell you one thing it will have no bearing at all. they weren't not voting him in because he was a felon and had the obstruction of justice charge.

www.ktvu.com for continuing recovererage. -- coverage. man is behind bars suspected in the mrs. doubtfire bank robbery. he raved a u.s. bank on april 3. -- robbed a u.s. bank on april 3. he was arrested monday by police who searched his car and found the wig that he was using in the bank robbery. he remains in jail in lieu of $600,000 bail. now to developing news in the south bay. a search is on for a teenage boy missing for two days. conner sullivan went to school monday morning, he tented a couple -- attended a couple classes classes and last seen around 10:00 a.m.

and then he disappeared. sheriff's deputies say he doesn't have a car or cash and his cell phone has been turned off. his parents are hoping he will hear this message. >> conner, if you can hear this message, you are not in trouble. we love you. please come home. >> i just want him home. i just want my baby home. >> investigators also say they don't believe a crime was committed. suchers plan to look in -- searchers plan to look in open spaces near the school. measure to eliminate exemptions from vaccination requirements for california school children passed a hurdle today. the committee voted 7-2 to eliminate championtionstions for personal beliefs and religious beliefs. it has a waver for children with health problems.

this was a key issue for one woman who says her god son died after being vaccinated. >> i am here because i think there is a large body of science, there is evidence of winner who are susceptible -- [ indiscernible ] >> the bill provides for home schooling for multiple families and it still has to pass other committees before a full vote. senators are reviewing a bill that would give terminally ill patients to take experimentally drugs. a republican believes patients who are going to die should have a shot at using the drug that could potentially be a cure. it would require patients to sign releases so they couldn't sue. even if the patients aren't cured doctors and drug makers will learn from how the

medication works. today is earth day and to celebrate people are doing their part to clean up their community. in san francisco everyone from school children to the san francisco giants pitched in. ktvu's david stevenson is live with a look at their efforts. david? >> reporter: it is the 45th year earth day has been celebrated here and with the growth of public transit use comes a focus on cleaner vehicles. >> they are here to thank b.a.r.t. riders for what they are doing to help. global warming is hurting species. >> reporter: 5,000 people turned out for the celebration at justin herman plaza. >> for everyone to have fun and take home knowledge. >> reporter: knowledge about ways to fight global warming with plants. >> i can we have given away 2,000 already. they are into it and we are

now to a letter of gratitude for police. signed by lauren. she from san jose. a city that she writes lost an asset to an amazing team. she lives in denver now and that is where she left the note on a police officer's car. the note has touched a lot of people, including san jose police. 467 azenith smith -- ktvu's

azenith smith tracked her down. >> reporter: when a police officer came across this note on his patrol car he thought this can't be good. when he read to it was the opposite. the note said: dear officer, i am from san jose, california, and we lost an asset to an amazing team last week. thank you for risking your life every day for my safety. you are important and i am super thankful for you. i hope you have a wonderful weekend. god bless. lauren. >> i had a prompting on my heart, you know what, you should tell him. tell him thank you. >> reporter: the week she wrote that note san jose police lost an officer shot and killed in the line of duty. she grew up in san jose and lives in denver, tells us she left church and got inspired when she parked next to a patrol car. so she hoped to make an officer's day and it did. >> the way she said thank you to us, we wanted to return it and say thank you to her for thinking of us.

>> reporter: for weeks police took to social media hoping to find lauren to thank her. and then they enlisted the hope of san jose police. it had special meaning for them since she mentioned the officer. >> that is pretty deep. >> reporter: we had an interview with her and she is amazing. and today we connected her with san jose police via face time. surprising both of them. >> reporter: this is lauren. >> lauren, how are you? i am glad that we got a chance to meet via face time. right? you know what? thank you so much. you are awesome. the entire san jose police department is grateful. >> reporter: so appreciative this officer for once was at loss for words. >> i can't imagine how it is touching mike's family and our

department. you know, i don't know how else to say it. thank you. thank you. >> reporter: proving you never know what kind gesture could make a lasting impact. in san jose, azenith smith, ktvu fox 2 news. san francisco mayor ed lee made a big promise today provide housing for all homeless veterans in the city by the end of the year. it follows a call by president obama that mayors across the nation do what they can to end homelessness among veterans. >> we took it up. i didn't know how complicated it would be, now ending homelessness for all veterans. >> mayor ed lee was referring to homelessness across the bay area. and other mayors made similar promises. it came during a visit by department of veterans affairs secretary. travelers should find arriving at sfo and getting

significantly warmer than yesterday. i mentioned yesterday san francisco was 55 for a high and vallejo was 58 for a high. warmer day today. thunderstorms continue in the mountain areas and that will be around tomorrow as well. north of grass valley. hammered right now. thunderstorms, lightning hits. and to the east of clear lake, a few more showers. tracking those. should stay clear of the bay area. the low-pressure system is dropping out of here. as it leaves the winds die down. the precipitation, unsettled weather moves east and we go back into a fair weathered pattern for a day or two and then saturday, changes. clouds in the avenues right now. cloud cover. the forecast for tomorrow, then, morning hours, you will see fog and low clouds and clearing and warming temperatures. increasing temperatures.

oranges tomorrow, 80s. they will show up inland. mostly mid-70s. upper 70s. you see greens are 60s. a warmer day tomorrow. that low leaves and as does the high builds in. thursday and friday we get a nice looking weather pattern with cooler on friday. and by saturday, cooler weather and a chance of showers or sprinkles on saturday morning. the models show that right now. thursday morning, right? thursday afternoon. friday morning. right? not too bad. stuff in the mountains. that clears out. and then friday evening, this shows up north. and then boom, there it is. a chance of showers saturday. mid-morning. a lot could happen. we will track it. looks like we will get wet. that is good. maybe a 10th of an inch. trace amount. maybe quarter inch. still has to come together.
