you. have a water truck or a tank to take out a lot of water. and this water should not be used to drink, it is used for irrigation or control dust. >> let's hope people take them up on that. seems like shame to waste all that water. cristina rendon, thank you. a couple has been arrested arrested for a online robbery and kidnapping scheme and they may have more victims. the sheriff's office identified the two. they were arrested for kidnapping and robbing a man who they met through an online ad and they are suspected in another case and there may be other victims. now to new developments in the case of a uber driver accused in an attack. the driver appeared before a judge.

turns out the driver isn't going to be back on the road for a while. >> christien kafton tells us the judge gave him a choice, license or freedom. >> reporter: he entered the courtroom today with his attorney. the uber driver was scheduled to enter a plea, instead his attorney asks for more time. on sunday witnessesads 45-year- old bicyclists hit his car and began to cycle away. he hit the psychoests from de-- bicyclists from dehind. he was arrested. -- behind. he was arrested and is facing felony charges. [ indiscernible ] >> reporter: with that he turned over his license and left court. >> heeded a -- [ indiscernible ] >> reporter: they wouldn't address whether this was a case of road rage. >> he will consider the circumstances, we wishes the victim a full recovery. >> reporter: prosecutors couldn't get into the specifics but said there is a reason pursuing this as an assault with a deadly weapon. >> a car could kill people. at the end of the day when you are in your vehicle, take a deep breath, relax, there could be dyer consequences. >> reporter: he immigrated to the u.s. in 2003 and granted asylum in 2009. he is not allowed to drive till the case is over. he is due in court june 2. in san francisco, christien

kafton, ktvu fox 2 news. it has been three days since a teenager disappeared. search teams gathered to look for the 17-year-old. last seen at high school monday morning. he attended a class and disappeared around 10:00 a.m. volunteers spread out across the city searching for him. they split the city into a grid and assigned teams to different areas. >> we have children so we feel a bond to the community and to the high school in general. we volunteer for the city because it is part of our community service we feel strongly is important. >> sheriff's deputies say he doesn't have a car or money and his cell phone has been turned off. police are searching for the gunman who shot and injured a 7-year-old boy. the boy was part of a crowd that gathered to mourn the death of a neighbor. ktvu's noelle walker is outside children's hospital in oakland.

what do we know about the boy's condition. >> reporter: this is where he is being treated. today police described his injuries as life threatening. this is what it looked like wednesday evening. evidence tags littering the streets. neighbors wondering why someone opened fire from a car and asking do they know or care that a 7-year-old boy was shot. >> at this point the condition of the child is the same as far as i know. serious and life threatening. >> reporter: he was here when the bullets flew. >> kids out here. they don't care for the kids. >> reporter: what is to stop another innocent child from being shot? >> well, that is a good question. >> reporter: he says winds rarely talk -- witnesses rarely

figure out why that boy. >> now a boy fighting for his life. noelle walker, thank you. a woman is in critical condition tonight after being shot by sheriff's deputies. investigators say the 46-year- old led them on a high speed chase and rammed three deputies with her car. it started before midnight and deputies responded to a report of a car driving reverse on highway 101. they tried to stop the woman but she sped away reaching speeds of over 100 miles per hour. authorities say the woman got off the freeway. at one point she turned into parking lot. as authorities closed in they say she backed her car into them knocking three of the deputies to the ground. that is when they opened fire. >> high rate of speed poses a risk to the public. and the deputies and to her.

we have no reason to understand why she wouldn't stop. >> investigators say she a transient from the bay area and not known to frequent sonoma county. the deputies are placed on administrative leave that is standard procedure following a officer involved shooting. the sheriff's department is the latest to try out body cameras. they say starting tomorrow 7 deputies will test wearing the body cameras for the next two months. they hope to have body cameras for every deputies at some point. on monday we showed you the body cameras that police in livermore are wearing. livermore created 8 types of interactions where the officers are supposed to turn the cameras on. the situation physicalclude 911 calls -- include 911 calls and probation stops. the video is stored for three years. unless it is a homicide or sex crime, in those cases it is

check this out a close call in the south bay. a massive tree snapped and fell feet away from someone's home.

the tree took out a garage but the homeowner is thankful because it could have been worse. it came down at 11:00 a.m. this morning in san jose. ktvu's azenith smith is there now where she spoke to the homeowner. >> the fencing has been put up and you can see what is left of her garage. the door, the backyard is a mess. and this tree sits on her neighbor's property. she warned her neighbor this have talked to him about it. >> could have hit my house, but instead it could have fell on the road. >> reporter: her neighbor was hurt when the tretrie fell -- when the tree fell. she suspends it -- he suspends it got too big. >> age and dirt.

judge to uphold it ruling that the state has to pay for a sex change. the 51-year-old is serving a life sentence for second degree murder. the filing made yesterday by her attorneys say the surgery is critical to her health and they oppose any delay while the state appeals. it isn't always dog or a cat that shows up at animal shelters. that is what they have right now. a python. it was discovered in its cage in someone's yard northeast of sacramento. today the snake stole the lime light during a visit by school kids. >> i like how they are big and long. they have a lot of venom.
