going to be a breezy day. southern california dealing with a lot of clouds from the south west focusing on our system to the north keeping us cool and carving our south out on a stronger system. that one shows signs of rain. sun and clouds breezy at times below average temperatures a cool pattern most of the week. lots of 50s and 60s including airs that should be about 75 or 76 degrees. hard presses to break 70. good morning to you. >> good morning. we are just about to go out in a moment to alex to talk about the bridge that is still closed officially getting ready to open it. let me take a quick look at some of these other traffic pictures here and show you the traffic on the bay bridge. does look good this bridge took a lot of traffic over the weekend. right now it looks good getting into san francisco. also looking at the commute here on interstate 880 a nice looking drive in both directions. if you are driving on the

walnut creek to concord commute the other way does look good as you drive through. now the sap ma te'o bridge is expelled to reopen in just an hour after being reopened. aten i saw the sign you were showing but still no sign of any opening there right? >> we saw one car pass by our location going westbound so far this morning and according to cal transit and the sign behind us here the westbound lanes of the bridge are back open at this time. as we push down there you can still see there are construction vehicles down there on the span still. they are still doing work on the eastbound lanes this morning which are not reopened and of course all this work going on throughout the weekend. that has caused a lot of traffic around the bay area. the closure led to major back ups on bay area freeways. this is what the bay bridge

toll plaza looking like last night. the metering lights remained on all into the night and heavy traffic in many spots thousands of drivers delayed trying to find their way around this closure. cal transit was monitoring the worst back ups on the traffic maps while crews were busy on the span. and this is what things looked like on the bridge since it shut down on friday night. workers removed the road bet bed down to the steel deck so a mile long section could be repaved and also a new concrete mix that was put in as well which will mean a quieter and stronger bridge. and again we are seeing cars traveling westbound this morning on the bridge so they are reopened the westbound lanes of the bridge and presumably by 5:00 a.m. they will have all of the lanes

closure of the bridge memorial weekend. you can download the app and look for our traffic map. time now is 4: 05. sorry pam. >> tarting today cal tran riders will have a little extra room adding an extra car to some of it's most popular roots. --routes. each will mean more standing room as well. it will add four cars immediately. 12 other cars need upgrades and will go into service as soon as they are ready. over the past five years they have seen a 00% increase in rider mapp. a man shot and killed a man after he attended a memorial service. they received several 911 calls reporting shots fired early yesterday morning on coal drive. they found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds taken to the hospital where he

died during surgery. the victim is a 35-year-old man who was attending a memorial service for a family friend who was shot and killed two weeks ago. investigators are trying to figure out if he may have been targeted. more than a week after protests in oakland boards up windows and damaged cars are all over. they are upset because they have to pay for something they believe oakland police should have prevented. the city is focused on helping merchants with emergency repairs. business owners can apply for grants to cover insurance deductibles or out of pocket costs. they have more than $10,000 in damage. starbucks is going to stop producing it's bottled water due to drought. they are using the water supply for bottled water.

they used to get it's spring in plaster county but now will be in pennsylvania. there are currently 108 licensed bottled water plants in california. >> no water bottling company should be taking water out of our area at this time. we are in the middle of a drought. >> starbucks has decreased the amount of water it uses by 20% but it isn't the only company getting attention for bottling it's water in california. they trying to get nest le to stop during the drought. people in the midwest are cleaning up after flooding and more severe weather today. northeast texas more than 20 people were injured and looking for more victims. a severe storm that may have produced a tornado damaged alternative least 30% of that to be. a tornado did touch down in denton and people had very

. welcome back everybody. happening today two mississippi police officers killed during a traffic stop will be remembered at a city wide memorial service. 35-year-old ben dean pulled over a car for speeding saturday night and called for back up when the 25-year-old arrived the officers walked up to the car together and someone inside the car started shooting. the mayor is calling on his city to help the families and each other as the investigation into the shooting continues. >> can't have these kinds of things happening in the community. but i think we need to celebrate the lives of these two individuals. >> four people have been arrested but authorities are not saying much about a motive

for the killings. they do say the suspects are known felons and will be in court later today. employees at a cvs in oakland are cleaning up after an attempts burglary. the suspects rammed an suv through the front door. an unsuccessful attempt to steal an atm. this is the second time in a month someone has intentionally crashed into the store. customers were shocked to see the damage. >> i don't know what happens to people where they feel that desperate. i wonder about that especially on mother's day. >> the store will reopen once the repairs are completed and no injuries are reported. on thursday governor brown will announce his may revision of the state's budget after the state's revenue has reportedly climbed by $8 billion in the last four months. california public schools will receive most of the additional

cars being tested here in california and according to an ap report three reports suvs are out fitted with sensors the other by auto parts maker. two of the crashes happened when a person was in control of the car. the other two when the car was controlling itself. both companies say their cars were not at fault and the damage was minor. new analysis says that riding the bullet train could be one of the world's cheapest high speed rail trips. the price of a ticket from san francisco to l.a. would be about $68, 20 cents per mile compared to 52 cents a mile for francis bullet train and 42 cents a mile for germany. it's expected to hope in 2028. over the weekend we had three big reminders of how bad the fire season can be.

the first was north of simpson beach and took fire crews seven hours to put out the flames burning more than three acres. no homes were damaged. firefighters put out a small grass fire in castro valley yesterday afternoon. the fire started on gail drive and no injuries are reported. of then a wild fire burned 11 acres in the state and county park. the fire started on the side of the road near the intersection in south san francisco. strong winds made it difficult to control the flames so a helicopter and two planes were called in to help fight that fire. no one was hurt. no structures damaged in that fire also. the cause of the fire remains under investigation. >> coming up in our next half hour growing concern baez the islamic state's terror group's use of social media to recruit
