board. we got this picture of the star princess which arrived from hawaii this morning. you can see workers on board. the cdc says at least 138 passengers got the highly don teenagous stomach virus. 18 crew members became ill. this is the ninth cruise ship to report a norovirus this year. that is the same number reported in all of last year. dramatic surveillance video who searched for thieves who used a stolen suv to break into bloomingdale's. we have more on the investigation into this smash and grab robbery. >> reporter: police don't have much to go on right now from this surveillance video. you can't tell if the burglars are men or women or whatth necessity day are.

they are hoping it might prompt someone to come forward. here is a red jeep cherokee bursting through the front doors of the bloomingdale department store. they run in and start smashing the glass cases. police say they were inside for just under one minute but made off with a lot of loot. the thieves raced away and dumped the jeep. it has been reported stolen the day before. in february a similar crime happened at a camera store on california avenue. someone drove a minivan through the front doors and stole equipment. >> we are surprised they are still at it >> we don't know if it is related to the photography store at this time. we counted six damaged cases. they are taking inventory of how much was stolen. police have combed the car for

evidence and are looking at video to see if it can provide more leads. they could sure use help from the public on this one. ktvu channel 2 news. >> a suspect in a san jose home invasion has turned himself in. he is being held at juvenile hall. the search continues for the second man seen on the surveillance video at a home in the evergreen neighborhood. they armed themselves with knives and went through the home room by room. they tried to kick down a bedroom door and they realized two women and a baby locked inside. one of the women called 911. a rap art itself filed a federal civil rights lawsuit, they claim they were harassed on march 8th. >> the lawsuit says every member of the group was subjected to an unreasonable search, seizure and arrest at gunpoint. two men were arrested. he is suspected of being a felon in possession of a loaded weapon. we have reached out about the lawsuit. so far they have not responded. a former san francisco charged with possessing child pornography is due back in court last month. pierce proceeded not guilty to six felony charges. he was taken back into custody after a judge increased his bail to $400,000. they said the images he possessed included children as young as infants. they say the city is taking the case too far and there was no evidence presented that pierce ever had contact with any of the victims.

make it mandatory for children to be vaccinated. the legislation was approved on a 25-10 vote. it eliminates the personal or religious belief exemption. unvaccinated children would have to be home schooled. they released the updated budget. brown says the record $115 billion budget will focus on the fundamentals including education and bringing down the debt. given a $6.7 billion increase in tax revenue the governor is proposing a new earned income tax credit for the working poor. it would apply to as many as 825,000 families. the average credit would be $460. >> i have always liked the earned income tax credit

because it doesn't have any particular bureaucracy or complexity. it is just a straight deliverance of funding to people who are working very hard and are earning very little money. also today the university of california announced an agreement between the governor and u. c. candidate. tuition hikes could start by the fall of 2017. protests are taking place at u.s. post offices across the country today against postal service cuts. a san francisco native is lending his support. >> the bill supports the solidarity to build awareness. that's what we expect to do today. >> he told us the issues are close to his heart. his brother and sister were postal workers. he is in washington,d.c.

up on 580. the crash happened around 10:30. at least five cars were involved. three lanes of westbound and 580 are still blocked as crews work to move the wreckage. they are putting some of those cars on flat bed trucks. you could see there is a huge back up. it goes on for a long time. again, this is westbound 580. so avoid that area if you can. thousands of bay area commuters have ditched their cars to get bikes. it is part of the 21st annual bike to workday. tara was there when the first cyclists hit the road. >> reporter: before the sun came up they were out.

southeast. you'll see lightning strikes detected. it is right around the concord region. thunderstorms developing as we expect it throughout the day today. you can see the radar coverage out towards redwood city near sunnyvale. of course the scattered lightning strikes as well. one storm developing to the south and to the east. there's a live doppler sweep picking up rainfall pattern. this is out towards concord in the martinez area. shifting the maps up to the north bay you can see out around nevada you can see around 37 and at black point as well. so just as we expected. we thought the rain would develop earlier this morning but still rain pushing into the region. santa rosa 64. livermore 66. next system is basically moving in right now.

after a big win at home the golden state warriors getting a chance to close out their series with the grizzlies. we saw them boarding the team's charter jet. game six is tomorrow in memphis. warriors won it 8-78. thompson lead with 21 points. >> i felt like i was pressing a little bit in the first quarter. i was nice and relaxed and kept my mind right. >> warriors can move onto the western conference final with a win in game six. tonight a mother and son reunite with the person who rescued them. they told us their heroing story. now we go back to the apartment
