rushed to muscle rock beach. a paraglider crashed into the cliffs. he died before rescuers could get him back up the cliff. >> it is safe. but it is as safe as you make it. >> reporter: she a pilot. she doesn't rely on the lift to get air as most do. >> i don't think people would do it without knowing it comes with risks and depends on the experience of the pilot. how experienced was he or she. >> reporter: what happened this morning is unclear but it is not the first time. two years ago another paraglider hit the cliffs and went to the hospital with serious injuries. >> with any aviation you are taking risk. you have to think carefully about how to minimize it risk. >> when you do they will tell you the risk is worth the reward. >> people think about it like it is a high adrenaline sport.

been arrested. officers say the 51-years-old robbed a wells fargo bank yesterday and witnesses say they saw him leaveoon partly cloudy and -- leave on a bicycle and later jumped into a car. officers chased him. he ended up in east oakland where he took a person hostage. the person was able to escape and he was taken into custody. police are warning residents about two attempted burglaries. the incidents happened in the crossings community this morning. the men are black and hispanic. one stood as a look out and the other scouted around scouted the house. driving a white convertible. police continue to search tonight for the man who tried to kidnap a girl yesterdayoon quiet -- yesterday on a quiet

street. mid-30s. 5'7" with a medium build. wearing a beanie and a tan or brown coat with fur on the cuff. police also released this surveillance video of the car they believe the man was in. the man began noll girl as he -- began following the girl as she was walking her dog and he grabbed her, she screamed and fought off the man. loretta search says apologizing for an offensive gesture. while speaking yesterday video shows sanchez patting her hand over her mouth making a sound in reference to native americans. she apologized during a speech saying we all make mistakes.

the nfl is set to hold its annual meeting in san francisco this week. one topic they will discuss is how footballs are handled before games. this comes after the new england patriots were penalized for under inflating footballs during the afc championship game. under rules footballs are sent directly to teams and must be given to game officials two hours before kickoff. there are reports the nfl, that officials will announce a change in policy at the meeting and they will hear new proposals for points after touchdowns and which cities are interested in hosting super bowls after 2018. the raiders plan to build a new stadium in oakland looking less likely to happen. a report says there are several obstacles in the way. the main is the cost, a billion dollars.

the raiders want the old stadium torn down before construction begins on a new one and that is problem because they share the coliseum with the athletics. dangerous wildfire season. cal fire says fire risk is extreme after four years of drought. crews have responded to 150 wildfires so far this year which is more than there were last year. the fire season starts in june but cal fire cept 7 engines on -- kept 7 engines on stand by. the bay to breakers foot race. ktvu's allie rasmus explains it continues to be a major event with a international reputation. >> mobile game of twister. a couple hours after the first
