funeral services were held for a california resident who was killed in the amtrak collision. he worked at wells fargo in their new york commercial real estate office. he was one of eight people killed. more than 200 were hurt. now as bryan yenes tells us, the debate is growing on whether lawmakers could have done anything to prevent that crash. federal investigators are hard at work. they're gathering evidence and trying to figure out if a flying projectile that left a hole in the windshield may have had to do with tuesday's derailment. >> that's what we're trying to determine. we haven't ruled anything out

aviation buffs got a chance to see some unique aircraft today. dozens of people milled around checking on everything from vintage models to business jets and helicopters. this year this jet was there. about 1,000 people raced up 180 flights of stairs today at the new world trade center in new york. it was the first ever tunnel to towers stair climb to benefit an organization that built smart phones for injured veterans. along those taking on the challenge for family members who lost loved ones in the 9/11 attacks. captain billy burke says he

wanted to finish the climb his brother never did. >> it was a tough climb. i'm telling you. i had to go, you hit that 30th floor and we're thinking about billy. keep climbing. we needed him but it was a great experience and for a great cause. veteran ryan debrilian was injured in afghanistan and will soon be living in his own smart home. he also did the climb. another 2 million egg laying chickens will be euthanized all because of the deadly bird flu. they will put the chickens down within the past four weeks. those chickens in one barn were infected but the entire flock will be killed as a precaution. that will bring the total number of chickens killed in this outbreak to 35 million in 15 states.
