good afternoon. i'm tori campbell. the chp has ended the manhunt for a car thief who led them on a wild chase from concord to berkeley. tara moriarty tells us about the liz the -- bizarre phone call the suspect made. >> reporter: around midnight, the chp says it found a stolen dark green honda abandoned and crashed into a silver suv in a neighborhood not far from the uc berkeley campus. the suv had flipped. its driver taken to the hospital with minor injuries. the suspect in the honda ran

off. >> we made sure that we checked each cows and backyard to make sure that the suspect wasn't still outstanding, hiding or in fact breaking into one of the houses. >> reporter: officers were forced to pursue the suspect by helicopter since he was driving the wrong way on highway 4, interstate 80 and city streets. during the chase, the thief decided to call 911. >> he related that he knew the police were following him, that the helicopter was wrov and if the -- was above and if the helicopter would stop, he would stop his car. >> reporter: the chp would not give that up da to public safety. >> we ran multiple traffic breaks to stop the driver, made a few statements to our dispatch and we relayed he was not going back to jail. >> reporter: the suspect is described as a white man with short hair, medium, medium

build. police in campbell are actively looking for a man who tried to abduck a 10-year-old girl as she was walking her dog. the victim was able to give a good description of her attacker had police who released this suspect sketch. he's described as asian or latino in his mid 30s, about 5'7" with a medium build. police say saturday morning, he followed the girl into a calldy sack near haas -- hacienda. his photos show his car. investigators say he asked the girl for directions, then grabbed and pushed the girl to the ground. she screamed and the man drove off. >> the belief is that he was obviously trying to do harm to her. what would have happened is unknown and we're thankful she fought back and screamed and gave enough concern for him to turn around and leave. >> in addition tonight still photographs, police have

released this surveillance video showing the victim's car driving by. detectives say it proves the man was stalking the fifth grader. police have received multiple reports of sightings of suspect and are following up on leads. amtrak trains are running again between new york and philadelphia for the first time since the deadly derailment last week. over the weekend, amtrak was ordered to expand the use of a speed control system near the crash site. federal investigators say the train was traveling 106 miles an hour as it headed into a curve and derailed last tuesday. eight people were killed and more than 200 were hurt. this morning, from elfia's mayor came to -- philadelphia's mayor came to see them out and wanted to assure them that amtrak has addressed the safety issues. >> everyone knows what's happened but just a sense of reassurance for that first

train going out that things are safe, things are secure, you should feel comfortable and there will be train service during the course of the day. >> investigators are also trying to figure out if something hit the front of the train before the crash. there was a hole in the engine's windshield but they don't know if that has anything to do with the derailment. funeral services were held yesterday for a man from the hayward area killed in the derailment. the 50-year-old man was laid to rest at the chapel of the chimes memorial in hayward. he was a married father of two. he worked at wells fargo in their new york service. the ntsb is leading the investigation and has been interviewed the 33-year-old leader of the train. investigators say he's been extremely cooperative but doesn't remember what happened in the moments before the crash. nine people were killed 18 others when two biker gangs got

into a -- 18 others hurt when two baker gangs got into a fight. it's temporarily shut down the waco, texas restaurant where it happened. >> reporter: a biker gang fight leading to nearly 200 arrests in texas. the sunday shootout between rival groups killing and injuring several bikers at a restaurant in waco, no innocent bystanders were harmed in the gunfire. >> 1092 individuals are being -- 192 individuals are being book and processed into jail. those are individuals that were involveled in the shooting. they -- involved in the shooting. they are involved in engaging in organized crime. >> reporter: the twin peaks restaurant located about 95 miles south of dallas, authorities say at least five bikers gangs were there to discuss turf and recruitment when a fight broke out in a bathroom. knives and guns soon became involved and the conflict moved to the parking lot.

the texas alcoholic beverage commission shutting the restaurant down for a week. police had advance knowledge of the meeting and were outside when the fighting began. it's still unknown if any of the dead were killed by officers. law enforcement has been the target of threats from biker groups since the incident. the county sheriff says all of those killed were either members of two gangs. in waco texas, back to you. investigators are trying to find the cause of a paragliding accident in daly city that killed one man. it happened yesterday at mussel rock beach. witnesses say the man hit the cliffs and apparently died before rescuers could get him back to the top. officials are not releasing the

name of the map, where he lived or how much experience he had paragliding. >> with any aviation you are taking risk and you have to think very carefully about how to minimize the risk. >> it's safe but obviously the sport is as safe as you make it. >> there was another accident at mussel beach involving a paraglider two years ago. for the second time in a week a person had to be rescued by helicopter from mt. diablo state park. a 3-woman was rescued -- a 73- year-old was rescued after falling off her horse. due to the remoteness of the area, the chp had to launch its the helicopter. a week ago, a 74-year-old woman had to be rescued after falling during a hike. loretta sanchez is a -- apologizing for mocking native- americans. >> i'm going to his office

thinking i'm going to meet with -- right? >> while speaking saturday at the state democratic convention in anaheim, she described her confusion about being asked to meet with the indian american caucus. she explaining how she mistakenly thought this was a member of the native american community. she apologized saying we all make mistakes. on saturday, she was seen running from reporters, though, asking her about the gesture. >> you made a gesture that -- >> sorry. hey, hey hey. >> do you feel like you took that buck? >> she's running for the seat being vacated by barbara boxer. ka ma'am law harris is also -- kamala harris is also seeking the same seat. president obama is -- president obama is banning giving the federal government

deep potter was one of two men killed while attempting a base jump in a wing suit in yosemite. this was one of the films potter made called when dogs fly. a park spokesman said the 43- year-old potter and his climbing partner 29-year-old graham hunt jumped from a 7500-

foot rocky cliff on saturday. someone called for help after losing contact with the men. their bodies were found yesterday morning. officials say no parachutes had been deployed. potter's dog did not go on this jump. we're learning more about the six u.s. marines killed in a helicopter crash in nepal. two officers and four enlisted marines died along with two nepalese soldiers on a miss to help quake victims. search and residue crews recovered all of the remains from the crash site. 22-year-old lance corporal jacob hug of phoenix was a combat photographer who joined the marines three years ago. his parents said ed felt joining the military -- he felt joining the military would mark the beginning of his life. >> next thing we know the helicopter basically disappeared. there was no fire, there was no smoke. there was no emergency beacon or black box triggered from a crash. >> hug's decorations include the national defense service medal, the global war on

terrorism service medal and a sea surface deployment ribbon. isis is claiming a major victory in iraq after months of fighting. the terror group says it's seized control of the city of ramadi killing hundreds of soldiers and civilians in the process. but secretary of state john kerry says he believes the situation can still be reversed. fox news correspondent joel waldman has more from washington. >> reporter: isis killed an estimated 500 soldiers and civilians and sent about 8,000 more iraqis fleeing the city of ramadi. in the chaos, they grabbed up military equipment left behind. while pentagon officials admit isis gained the upper hand, john kerry says there's still hope for ramadi go it's possible to have the find of attack we've seen in ramadi. but i'm confident that will be reversed. >> reporter: despite the set back, kerry says isis's power

the middle east should not have been pulled from youtube. the movie is called innocence of muslims. it's considered blasphemous for insulting their religion and the prophet muhammad. the woman said she thought she was acting in a different movie and her dialogue was dubbed over. no word if this will result in the movie being reposted to youtube. fire crews spent the night for watching flareups at the scene of a grass fire that threatened mobile hoebles in san jose -- mobile homes in san jose. you can see how close the flames came to the mobile homes. the two-alarm fire started about 9:30 last night. firefighters say quickly burned about five acres uphill before crews got it contained. investigators are also trying to figure out what started this brush fire near the altamont pass. it started around 2:30 in the afternoon along interstate 580 near north flynn road in livermore. firefighters from several different exas helped put out

the flames. about 75 acres burned. smoke from the fire also slowed traffic on the freeway. well, the weather at least helping reduce firefighting risks. still very cool out there and rain on the way. >> yes, we have a very slight chance. i will explain in a second. let's step outside and take a look at all of that gray. and the gloomy start to the day, i to expect will continue into the afternoon -- with only the far inland areas seeing sunshine. partly sunny skies reported in some areas. first a look at the system that continues to bring us this cool semi unsettled weather. the system moving into nevada for the afternoon. take a look at what's going on a little bit slowser here. the -- closer here. the wraparound system firing off thunderstorms. that possibility over the sierra today as well as our north bay and north coastal hills. here at home we to have a possibility of seeing maybe a few sprinkles in and around

areas of the north bay. from sonoma county all the way north into lake county. that will be the area where we may see a few sprinkles for the afternoon. the rest of us, going to be gray, below average and we have the onshore breeze with us. fairfield reporting 21 miles an hour right now with a 28-mile- an-hour gust. concord reporting 15 and a light onshore breeze at novato 3 miles per hour. for the -- for the week ahead, i expect to remain unseasonably cool. we'll remain with the slight chance of scattered showers in the forecast. although most of it will come in the way of patchy drizzle. most of us will remain dry. temperatures at 62 degrees in walnut creek. 56 in oakland. 57 in novato. upper 50s for sfo. 59 mountain view and 58 for san jose. as we get into the second half of your day, temperatures running anywhere from 4 to 8 degrees below the normal.

67 in novato. low 60s in richmond, shifting into the east bay where we have mid-60s for castro valley. 67 livermore. upper 60s in antioch, brentwood. into the san jose, 65 san jose, sunnyvale you will go to 64 and for the peninsula areas like san mateo, 64. redwood city, you are do the same. 60 degrees in san francisco. these numbers very similar to what we had on sunday afternoon. there is the extended forecast again showing you mostly cloudy skies in the forecast. temperatures not changing a whole lot. we may have a chance of seeing more moisture, a few more scattered showers. but all in all mainly dry but our chance for rain is minimal, not zero. >> because of the time of year, there's not -- tharbs's not that much moisture -- there's not that much moisture. a big honor at the tech museum of innovation in san jose from the white house. for a viewing party and watched a live stream of a white house ceremony. the museum's ceo was in washington, d.c. to accept the national medal for museum and library service award from first lady michelle obama. the tech museum collaborates with schools around the south bay with free field trips. one of the main goals to get low-income students interested in science and technology. >> it's a fantastic validation of a lot of work we've been doing here over the last three years. we've been focusing on how do we become a better resource for our community and aspects of the community who don't have a lot of access to technology and science. >> the tech museum was nominated for the national medal and it was one of five museums in the u.s. to win the award. we'll have more of ktvu fox 2 news at noon right after this. this is not san fran. this is not a tall man it's pam and dan.

stocking edging higher. investors have a couple of corporate deals to work through. right now, taking a live look, the dow is up 51. the nasdaq is up 36 and the s&p is up 9. apple may not be getting all of the damages it won from samsung in a patent infringement lawsuit a few years ago. this morning a u.s. appeals court reversed part of the $930 million judgment. the court says there was still an infringement but it also

said $382 million awarded for diluting trademark packaging and presentation will have to be reconsidered by a lower court. so far, an. is not -- apple is not commenting on the ruling. the western conference final is et. the warriors face the houston rockets in game one tomorrow night in oakland. scott reese has a look at what lies ahead. >> reporter: the warriors will continue their trek through the eastern most cities in the western conference. they pretty much had their way with the rockets winning all four games by an average of 15 points. and houston plays at a pace that's more conducive to what the doves like to do. >> i always say it will be easier. it seems like in the playoffs things take a different shape. in the western conference finals you have to expect that to be same. >> reporter: the same would be just fine for a team who played
