the court. good evening i'm frank somerville. >> and i'm julie haener. and curry suffered a contusion but is okay. and what a scary moment to see something like that. >> for everyone who appreciates and loves sports just a sickening sight. you could not avoid but hold your breath. for several agonizing moments it looked like the entire season may have gone down in a heap late in that first half. the mvp, the heart and soul of this team within reach of a championship. steph curry looked seriously injured on a night when very little went right for golden state. houston came out smoking. hit eight of the first nine threes. 45 points against the warriors the first quarter. james harden right in the thick of it. and as the first half came to a conclusion, near it any way. steph could take this fall as

he goes over trevor ariza. he layed motionless for several moments. finally was led off the court. and obviously checked for concussion like symptoms. he later would return. the warriors were down as many as 25. but curry did wind up having a hand in their come back. he hit this three in the fourth quarter. the warriors within six. that's as close as they would get. steph a three but from there a 7-0 run from the rockets led by who else james harden. he started the field and james scores two of his 45 right there. 128-115 the final. the warriors still lead the series 3-1. game five will be in oakland. on wednesday at 6:00 but this was houston's night. our joe fonzi has been down there all weekend. and of course a lot of attention being paid to the condition of steph curry right now. what's the latest you've heard and know of, joe. >> yeah, mark you could pretty

much feel the warriors and their fans collectively hold their breath when curry went down in the second quarter going down hard over trevor ariza as you said hitting his head. the back of his head on the floor as he went down. and then staying down on the floor for some time before he was help into the locker room. i think we're all amazed to see him come back in the third quarter especially with all the knowledge of injures. after the game he met with the media and kind of explained what it was all like for him. >> it's a bad feeling because you you're trying to make a play on the ball. once you see the situation changes immediately in the air. you have to control over yourself. it could have been a lot worse. once i hit the ground. i hear voices from trainers and people telling me to take my time.

we want to make sure to do all the tests they needed to do. all in all i'm thankful i came out of that relatively okay and try to get my team something. >> i'm proud of the way we all fought. >> i was kind of nervewracking. but when you see him get back on the court that's when you're like okay you can breathe. you can relax. he's out there. >> that sentiment pretty much echoed by all the guys in the locker room who were happy to see curry. normally this time of the night well after the game security would have the building cleared out. we're under a flash flood warning here in houston. severe thunderstorm and we're asked to shelter in place here. so many probably most of the fans are still stuck around. until they get the all clear. that isn't expected to happen for possibly another two hours

a three alarm fire caused significant damage to a home in san jose. now authorities are trying to determine if it was an explosion that started that fire. it was first reported at 4:30 at a home in view wood place in south san jose. neighbors say they heard explosions and pg & e was called in to turn off the gas. the fire was burning through the roof of the home it also damaged an rv next door. we spoke with two neighbors, both of them told us they heard a very loud explosion that took place right before the fire broke out. >> i was looking around for what it happened and there was a second one. when i looked outside i saw huge black smoke billowing down the street. a mere and her son got out of -- a mother and her son got out of the home safely. but one firefighter suffered a

minor injury. we're told he suffered minor injury when something in the home exploded and pushed him back suddenly. how protest organizers are responding and the governor's plan. >> reporter: the protest on the new plan from the city on keeping protests off the streets after dark. major libby schaaf says keeping people on sidewalks prevents vandalism and violence and it keeps protesters, bystanders and drives safe. >> this is not new policy. this is just making better utilization of policy we already have. >> reporter: but as schaaf tries to make better use of the

tonight about the arrest of ray mcdonald. he's now free on bail after being accused of domestic violence and child endangerment. julie haener is live outside of the county jail and you were there when mcdonald bailed out this afternoon. >> reporter: i was the first person. i spotted him exiting along the side the santa clara county jail. i was able to catch up with him and it was clear he did not want to say anything. he even tried to get a san jose police officer to give him a ride to avoid the crowd of media headed his way. >> was it your son or daughter? >> no comment. >> reporter: he didn't say much but today ray mcdonald is out of jail after posting bail. at first the 30-year-old attempted to run from the waiting media but then simply walked while holding a cell phone trying to find a cab. mcdonald didn't say anything about the misdemeanor charges.

or just that a few hours after his arrest he had been released by the chicago bears. mcdonald was not able to meet the team's standards. saying we believe in second chances but when we signed ray we were very clear what his expectations were if he was to remain a bear. the fall out came after santa clara police were called to a disturbance at a residence in santa clara. a source confirms it happened here inside the carlisle a gated apartment community. >> what i can say while the victim was assaulted she was holding a young child, an infant. >> reporter: mcdonald's attorney says the incident involves the mother of mcdonald's child. a 2-year-old boy. they question if it's a method

an anonymous federal official says the justice department has now reached a settlement with the city of cleveland over excessive force by police and civil rights violations. this comes as protesters involved in demonstrations over the weekend were in court today to learn the charges against them. they were protesting the clearing of a white police officer in the 2012 shooting deaths of an unarmed black couple after a police chase. many protesters pleaded no contest but not all of them. >> i feel like this will send a message to other people and show them that, it's a good cause. and whatever cause it is to come together we can do it. >> officer michael brelow was acquitted of manslaughter after firing more than 40 shots into the couples' car. police thought shots had been

fired and started chasing the car. 14 other officers fired at the carment but the judge said he couldn't say for sure if officer brelow's shots were the ones that killed them. the fbi says there were as many as six telephone threats involving international air flight headed toward the eastern seaboard. a phone call suggested that there was a chemical weapon on that plane. the calls would be the work of the same person. the threats did not appear to be credible. the oakland coffee chain that has gained a loyal following in the united states is now quite popular in japan. blue bottle cafe opened two coffee shops in tokyo this year and in some cases the wait is up to four hours. blue bottle is now hoping to open a third coffee shop in

there as you wake up tomorrow morningment and that's the weather out in houston. they have tornado watches and flood watches. joe fonzi will join us from there in a moment. as long as our weather continues to be like this, their weather is going to stay like that. and they're going to shift to a drier pattern and this is the way it's going to work out. the high pressure builds in not much necessarily tomorrow but on wednesday and thursday it really establishes itself. by thursday and friday maybe some upper 80s low 90s. so it's going to feel hot in the inland bay valleys. fog will still be a constant player at the coast. a day tomorrow a lot like the day we had today. oakland a lot like today. not much different. the more real warmth, the more sunshine you're going to notice

east of the caldecut tunnel. then we head to this warm up pattern. this high pressure builds in. so it's dry pattern, warmer pattern. what does that mean, high danger comes back on the radar. as cool as it's been we're going to be talking fire danger on friday maybe a little bit on saturday. 73 in danville, 68 in fremont. 73 in gilroy. not much different than today but they will start to warm up. you will see it in the five day forecast. a few clouds, a little warmer. then here it goes, starts to ratchet up. that might be considered upper 80s on friday could easily be low 80s in livermore and places like that. it's going to be interesting how quickly we forget how cool it is. >> i imagine we're going to be talking fire danger a lot. thanks, bill. mark is here now with more on the warriors and how steph

curry is doing tonight. >> a night that did not go the way the rockets were hoping. the warriors suffer through a few heart stopping moments to say the least. watching their star player lay motionless. the game could have been the least of their worries but that was enough. most points allowed by the warriors all season. rockets shoot 77%. you know that man james harden had a little to do with that. here is what was the scariest moment of all. the warriors saw their season go before your eyes as he tumbles over trevor ariza. he was led out the floor as precaution protocall was followed. clay thompson leads the team back. green had a lot to do with

that. and the warriors were down only 10 points. manageable at halftime as you see green score. and curry would return in the fourth quarter. as a matter of fact after shooting an air ball on his first shot, getting fouled in the second. he would have a little impact. this three brings the warriors within six in the fourth quarter. about nine minutes left. the rockets from there a 7-0 run. and who else, on defense it's harden got a hand in there. on the other end it's james harden to the bucket. he had 48 points. 3-1 series lead and harden hits seven of 11 threes as the series shifts back to oakland and of course a couple of subplots to the game. one the weather in houston and of course the condition of steph curry sometimes head injuries can have a delayed effect. obviously he will be closely watched over the next 48 hours

don't know if you've noticed giants fans but this year's team they can smack the ball around. that's what they did. a couple of giant fans out there. milwaukee seven runs in the 6th inning alone. andrew suzack had his hand in it. giants were down 4-1. tim lincecum will eventually get the win. nori aoki who is 4-4. an rbi single. we have 6-four giants and they weren't finished. they actually loaded the bases before it was all over with two outs in the inning and hunter pence laser to left. just missed a grand slam. he had three hits. this is a two run double. 13 total hits. 8-4 win and my apologies to a's fans, they won jesse hahn, a
