areas like concord this morning 55 we do have that on shore breeze through fairfield. 52 and gusting winds to about 30. so it is a cool breezy one there for you this morning. 56 in hayward. 56 mountain view. low 50s novato, napa and santa rosa. the numbers have not changed a whole lot and i don't think they will budge very much while the cloud cover remains in place at least through the morning hours. 51 for wood side. 56 palo alto. shifting into areas like morgan hill. you go inland this is where the weather has been mostly sunny and mild. low to mid 70s in the forecast. when i come back i will have a detailed look at the area where you live and the numbers expect thed if your area. today is the coolest day. i see a warming trend coming as early as tomorrow.

we do have a crew on the way. we can see it from here again. this is near a mobile home village in bay point and does not look good. we see black smoke rising on highway 4 coming to the bay point area. now the fire department is on the scene but we are not sure if it is vegetation. we were told it was vegetation burning but it could be even more. you can see it from highway 4 people are going to be slowing, getting up to the area just because they can see what is going on. remember highway 4 has had some crashes too. let's go to the bay bridge toll plaza. it is backed up for at least a 15-20 minute delay.

no problems getting on to the actual span. in san jose northbound 280 that looks good sot south bay commute is off to a good start. 6:01 let's go back to the desk. we are following developing news out of texas. severe storms have killed at least six people and left at least 12 more missing. this is new video from houston. you can see traffic as a standstill as the drivers get stranded in that high water. alex savidge is in studio to explain how that severe weather left basketball fans stuck. >> reporter: the rain moved in at the end of the playoffs game. many people left after the game but a few hundred people stayed put inside the toyota center to ride out this storm. a small group of people were forced to stay the night but everyone we're told finally left at 5:00 a.m. local time. now after game four finished, they put a message up on the

big screen and warned fans to shelter in place because of the dangerous flash flooding that was happening across the city. we have seen tweets from our own joe fonzi. the houston area got slammed by this system. most fans and players left the arena but there was that small group that didn't want to chance it. at one point dwight howard came out to from the locker room to chat with those fans. howard said he decided to stay at the arena after hearing from friend of his who became stuck on a flooded freeway. the storms that pounded houston last night left thousands without power and people all across texas they have been dealing with this kind of severe weather for the last couple of days. heavy rain has triggered dangerous flash flooding. at least six people have been killed in these storms and in one central texas town, a dozen people are missing still this morning. police say they were all inside of a home that was washed down

a river and then smashed into a bridge. texas governor greg abbott is warning people this dangerous weather is not over yet. >> get in front of what is going on. alert your citizens in your particular counties and communities about the hazards and dangers that may be coming your way. >> reporter: the governor has issued a disaster declaration. many school districts in the houston area have canceled classes today. now as far as the warriors, we understand the team is staying in a hotel close to the toyota center in downtown houston. they got out of the arena last night and scheduled to fly out and head back to the bay area later on today. coming up we will check in with joe fonzi who is in houston right now. we will get an update on the

warriors and severe weather they are facing in texas. back to you. >> we wish them a safe flight back. we want to get the warriors back to oracle arena where they will once again try to advance to the nba finals. they did have that chance to sweep the houston rockets last night. but the rockets shot right out of the gate taking that 19-3 lead within the first five minutes. james harden scored a play off career high of 45 points and then there is this scary moment for the warriors fans when steph curry. it does not get easier to watch. landed on that court while trying to contest a layoff and stayed face down for awhile. >> it's a bad feeling. trying to make a play up on a ball and once you see the situation changes immediately in the air and you've got no control over yourself.

karma and what goes around comes around? these thieves may want to consider returning the statue because after all someone higher up may be watching. this is the cross you can see right here. you can see exactly where they cut the body of jesus sheer off of the cross here. officials say that the life size figure which weighed about 100 pounds disappeared sometime between 9:00 tuesday night and 7:00 wednesday morning from outside the church of the transfigure ration. it's believed the thieves may be trying to hawk the statue for scrap metal. they first noticed it was missing last wednesday morning. >> our hope and our prayer is somebody will see this and realize how upset people are. we would be very grateful if you would return it. >> reporter: the bronze statue was a work of art and had been here for nine years. he says the church is more

interested in recovering the figure than prosecuting the person who stole it. live from castro valley i'm tara moriarty, back to you. >> all right tara, thank you. time is 6:07. fire investigators and pg&e crews are still investigating what started a fire at a san jose home last night. it happened just after 5:30 at a house on wood view place. now the flames were shooting through the roof of the home. it also damaged an rv that was parked next door. a mother and her son escaped the burning house unharmed. now neighbors heard at least one really loud explosion and then they saw the flames. >> i was just sitting watching tv and just felt this huge explosion and my house rattled and i knew right away something was wrong. >> it was a huge explosion. our whole house rattled. i was looking around to what happened. i saw huge black smoke billowing down the street. >> pg&e was called in to turn

off the gas at that house. and now they are trying to figure out if a gas leak could have started that fire. three firefighters were treated for injuries but none were hospitalized over night. an investigation is under way into a suspicious fire at a home in oakland. it was reported on douglas street just after 11:00 last night. no one was hurt but three people were evacuated from that home. investigators won't say why they consider the fire suspicious they only said they responded to that home before. new this morning two big fast food chains are taking artificial colors and flavors off their menus. pizza hut says it will take out dyes and chemical additives by the end of july. taco bell which is also owned by yum brand says it will take out artificial colors, flavors, and high fructose corn syrup by the end of the year. major fast food chains are under a lot of pressure from rivals like chipotle and they are gaining fans for food that

is seen as more fresh and healthy. time is 6:09. gunfire inside a walmart early this morning. the deadly incident under investigation in north dakota. >> also big scares involved as many as six commercial planes. the series of threats on one of the busiest travel days of the year. >> we have bay bridge trouble on the upper deck of the bay bridge. there is a problem on that span and traffic is very slow. not only before but after treasure island getting into the city. and now that means that the bay bridge toll plaza commute is terrible. we also have some other trouble in the east bay but we will get to this coming up. >> our cool to mild pattern will remain in place for one more day. outside our doors this morning clouds, patchy drizzle for the afternoon. temperatures ranging in the upper 50s to mid 70s. i will show you where you can expect to land today.

welcome back to mornings on 2 time is 6:13. new this morning two people are dead in north dakota, several others were hurt after a shooting that happened inside a walmart store. the police were called to the walmart super center in grand folks,north dakota shortly after 1:00 this morning. there were reportsover shots fired. this store was open 24 hours a day. the police have already confirmed the shooter is among the dead. that store is still locked

down. a journalist from marin county that has been jailed in iran for ten months went on trial today until tehran. he is a washington post reporter. he's accused of spying and other crimes at the last minute iran announced his trial is closed toes public. his brother believes it is being held in secret because of a lack of evidence. >> they have gone along with this sham for the last ten months and now they are going to have a trial and they want to keep it as closed as possible so there is less information for people to say why have you held this person? he is totally innocent. even his mother who went to tehran was hoping to see the trial but she is not being allowed in the courtroom. he was born in san francisco. he grew up in marin and he does hold dual u.s. and iranian citizenship. protestors in okay land don't like the city's new approach to controlling nighttime demonstrations. now they marched sunday night.

protesting new pushes by the police to keep demonstrators off the streets if they don't have a permit. oakland mayor libby schaaf says keeping people on sidewalks that prevents vandalism and violence and she says it's not a new policy. it's just enforcing the current policy. >> people are going to cause damages to businesses. that's not going to happen in the middle of the street. forcing people off the street on to the sidewalk could only exacerbate that problem. >> we spent a lot of time analyzing our policy and analyzing the law. we are very confident this approach is fully within our policy and the law. >> mayor schaaf is trying to prevent a repeat of the may 1st demonstration where vandals caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage. there was no such damage to businesses in the demonstrations over the weekend. a group hoping to recall the mayor of ferguson, missouri will present a petition to the

city of ferguson. the push to recall the mayor follows the u.s. department of justice report which showed ferguson municipal court system, police and city leaders discriminated against african americans. >> what he would do right now is criticize the department of justice report and we feel that is totally wrong. he would not own up to anything that the department of justice pointed out. he will not apologize to the people or the city of ferguson. >> the clerk has 20 days to verify the signatures. several maryland high school seniors they won't be allowed to take part in the graduation ceremonies because of what they call a harmless prank. six of the students and one former student broke into chopticon high school and released 72,000 lady bugs. other students are outraged their friends won't be allowed to walk on stage and pick up

their diplomas. >> waiting four years for something and that is walk across the stage and just a little thing like that. it shouldn't ruin that much. >> i don't think that they should go straight out of high school with these criminal records that is going to help them. it's going to make them not get a job. get into college. >> the police say those lady bugs that is not the issue but breaking into the school set off a burglar alarm and the police had to respond. now the students involved are facing burglary charges. 6:17. let's go out to sal because he's watching a few things including a grass fire. >> we have a problem on the bay bridge. i want to go to the bay bridge camera. the traffic the accident was recorded -- was reported on the onramp but they ended up finding something just west of treasure island here. you can see cal tran is there. they just towed another one of the vehicles away but on the bay bridge traffic is just a mess. so there you see what the

problem is. look at the traffic here on the east span. it's at a standstill. when that happens they have to turn the metering lights on extra slow so at the toll plaza we have a huge backup there and backing up around the mccarthur maze. claudine mentioned grass fire on bay point this is highway 4 near the freeway. this commit is going to be effect the by the smoke. we've heared a a couple -- we've already had a couple of different crashes on highway 4 any way. southbound 680 danville there is an accident there. there is also slow traffic on the nimitz freeway because of a couple of accidents in san leandro heading down from about the coliseum to 238. it will be slow. 5890 is a mess come -- 580 is a mess coming off the altamont pass and 680 is also very slow heading down. we have one of the commutes where you have to leave yourself a lot of extra time. almost all the commutes are off to a bad start. let's go to rosemary for

tenedos -- for today's forecast. we are looking at another round of cloudy skies. and for the afternoon a near repeat expected for today. giving you a live look there at plenty of cloud cover. partly sunny to partly cloudy skies with the slow clearing day expected once again and along the coastline we will remain mostly cloudy along the east bay shoreline we have been mostly cloudy for the last few days as well. let's take a brief look at the other half of the country. we've been talking about the devastating storms that moved through the area and you can see still quite active there for today. we are looking at showers falling in areas over mississippi at this time. louisiana had storms roll through. it will stretch into the great lakes. we have rain and thunderstorms reported over iowa now. but again it will continue into an active weather day. this is a look at the last 24 hours. all the red icons indicating tornado reports and as we know areas of texas and oklahoma hit

really hard today. here at home we continue with our quiet weather. a little damp out there this morning. a lot like yesterday and as we get into your afternoon we are looking at temperatures remaining unseasonably cool. 60s around the bay. mid 70s expected for the warmer spots. today is going to be the coolest day of the next several days as we get into wednesday. temperatures will begin to rebound. by friday into saturday our inland cities into the mid 80s so as we get into your weekend, it's going to feel like a bit like summer. 51 degrees in napa. 52 san francisco. 56 in livermore. holding at 56 in hayward and 57 san jose. these numbers not changing have to deal with that cloud cover even though the sun is up and shining. just really can't get the rebound yet. 71 in novato for the afternoon today. 63 expected usa sausalito. to the east bay temperatures

will remain in the low to mid 60s along the east bay shoreline. 69 for castro valley. 73 for danville. 74 in morgan hill. 73 san jose. you will go to 72 cupertino. and san mateo warming up to about 66 for the second half. 61 san francisco. 59 half-moon bay. the extended forecast here showing you the warming trend that gets under way as early as tomorrow. but temperatures really see their warmest as we get into friday, saturday for our inland cities. low to mid 80s if you are looking for that sunshine if you're looking for the warmer weather definitely make your plans to go inland because along the coast and around the bay although we will be warmer, we will still be cool to mild. partly cloudy skies just along the coastline. no beach weather for the weekend unless you like 60 degrees and partly cloudy on sunday. >> that will be perfect for claudine's cross fit work. >> yeah. thanks for reminding me, dave.

cleanup is under way in mexico after a devastating tornado caused major damage in a city right across the border from texas. more than a dozen people were killed and hundreds of homes were destroyed. the hardest hit city was kuna. our time now is 6:25. memorial day in one part of the east bay was marked in lafayette with a small and poignant vigil for the americans who died during the iraq and afghanistan wars. the crosses of lafayette were first planted nine years ago. this display also includes stars of david. islamic crescents and other religious symbols. combined they represent the more than 7,000 americans who have died in iraq and afghanistan. she came to the vigil to remember her 22-year-old nephew who died three weeks into his

first combat tour. >> to come here is a way for me to just have my own special place to remember him. >> now this hillside memorial is on privately owned land. it was first started by the widow of a world war ii veteran and antiwar activists. volunteers maintain it. >> and they say they do the work so people will remember those that made the ultimate sacrifice for this country. the u.s. postal service unvailed a new series of stamps on memorial day. a service was held yesterday and out of the three million americans who served in vietnam, 258 were awarded that medal of honor. several of the recipients were on hand for the event. some memorial day shoppers are angry about a t-shirt featured in a sale by clothing retailer pac sun. it featured an upside down american flag. many customers called it disgusting and insulting since

an upside down flag is considered a sign of distress. pac sun released a statement. we've decided to stop selling the t-shirt and removing it from our stores and website immediately. former 49er ray mcdonald is out of jail this morning but he's also out of a job. the new details we are learning about his domestic violence arrest. >> suspicious fire under way in vallejo. >> we are looking at the morning commute on the bay bridge. it's not a good one. you can see traffic is jammed on this span. i'll tell you what happened and how the backup will continue. >> and our cool to mild pal tern will continue for -- pattern will continue for your tuesday.

good morning to you. welcome back. it's tuesday, it's may 26th i'm dave clark. >> good morning, i'm claudine wong. pam cook has the day off. you're time is 6:29. we're heading to 6:30. rosemary is here to give us a look at how this weather is shaping up. hi. >> yes, good morning to you. another great start to the day. patchy drizzle continues. through the second half it will be partly cloudy, cool to mild once again. mostly cloudy remaining along the coastline. take a look at that shot. that is just beautiful. we have a mix of a little bit of blue sky there in the backdrop and a little bit of sunshine trying to poke through those clouds but it is very wide spread this morning. as far as fog wise, not too bad is the visibility okay getting across portions of the bay and your bridges this morning. 51 in napa. 52 san francisco. 56 in livermore and 56 right

now hayward and san jose checking in at 57. here's the comparison. we know we have been running cool for this time of year but typically santa rosa is 76 degrees for the afternoon right now you are looking at 71 for today. oakland just a few degrees shy of where we typically are. oakland has been missing out on the sunshine. a lot of cloud cover over oakland. 74 for livermore. and san jose five degrees shy of the seasonal average. a few more numbers on your screen for the afternoon. 73 in concord. 71 for napa. we have 61 in san francisco. 58 degrees expected in pacifica pap today will be the coolest day. temperatures will turn around as early as tomorrow. i will have a look at the warming trend coming our way in the extended forecast in a little bit. back to sal. good morning. all right good morning to you. we do have a lot of slow traffic. the bay bridge is not good. and that is because of an earlier crash on the span. traffic is still recovering on that span. it's getting a little bit better now that the crash is

gone. you can see it slow on the upper deck. when that happens the metering lights are turned to extra slow. traffic is backed up along the mccarthur maze. 80 is backed up into berkeley. you can see it's barely moving here at the bay bridge toll plaza. the east bay in general not doing well at all. we have a crash southbound 680 in danville. we have 580 mess we have 880 a mess from earlier. so almost everywhere you look we have slow traffic here. i want to let you know that on 580 some of the speeds are way down coming in off the altamont pass here. 6:32 let's go back to the desk. now to developing news on the deadly storms that are sweeping through the southwest. the houston texas area dealing with severe weather and heavy rain at least six people have died in flash floods. this morning rescue crews out there will resume the search for 12 people reported missing in the town ofwomen berry--

wimberley. the vacation home some were staying in it was swept away. the rain left some of the rockets fans stranded. alex savidge is in the studio now with more on what they went through. alex. >> reporter: dave, good morning to you. last nights play off game between the warriors and rockets ended in regulation but then a few hundred fans face what you might call weather related overtime. a small group decided they would stay put at the arena to ride out what was a very powerful storm in houston. we have our own joe fonzi he was in the arena last night. he is joining us live on the phone. joe, good morning to you. >> reporter: good morning alex. >> how are you doing? >> reporter: let's just say shelter in place is not a

terminology we hear very often in california. when they announced that to us with the game probably about three quarters over, to those of us in the press box and to the fans and they said we do not recommend that you get in your cars after the game. normally the game ends and security starts getting people out of the building. and instead of that they said you're welcome to stay as long as you like. and they started showing some pictures on the big screen of some of the neighborhoods. their biggest concern was some of the onramps and off ramps that were completely under water in some of the low lying neighborhoods and then it was pretty up up to the people in the arena to make up their mind whether to stay or brave the highway. and as you said a good portion of the crowd at first and then later by the time we left you know the two hour time difference we did some live reports for our 10:00 newscast which was starting at midnight here, 1:00 by the time we were finished and there was still a pretty good crowd. two sections within the arena

that had decided to stay there rather than go out. >> and a bit of a treat for some of the fans that stayed for this after party there at the arena because dwight howard came back out and he chatted with some folks and had a little fun. >> reporter: yeah. the rockets were doing everything in their power to make it as pallable as possible. at one point they made an announcement and said who wants to stay for breakfast and the crowd cheered and they had several of the houston stations were then doing live reports back to their stations and every time the lights would come on the people would cheer for them and then as you said dwight howard came out and mingled among the crowd and shook some hands and then the young man that was with him i assume it was his son. they lowered the basket and he was putting on a show and doing some dunking and things like that. so the rockets did everything in their power to make it kind

of a party for the people who stayed. >> and as you pointed out we haven't seen rain in california for quite some time. explain to us how intense this rain system was last night. we heard as much as ten inches came down in the houston area. what was it like for you? >> reporter: they were calling it a 100-year-old storm depending on how long it lasted. it would come down in a rate that would rival the biggest storms in record. as i look outside my hotel window we're about to go to an airport and catch a plane. there is no rain coming down now and the streets have pretty much, i wouldn't say they are dry but there is no standing water anywhere. i'm sure they know how to handle this. as we went to our car, our hotel is only six or eight blocks from the arena and it was like taking a shower with your clothes on. it was just pouring down rain as you said. the rate at which we don't often see it in california. i mean one or two good one of

these and the drought would be over. and then we had to wade through a pretty good puddle to get to our car. but then i took video with my phone. it was lightning about every 20- 30 seconds and thunder right afterward. it was so loud you could hear it in the arena. our advantage point during the game was pretty high. you could hear the thunder while the game was going on up above. and then we just kind of you know all around the west coast we don't see this thing very often. it's a light show. you open up the hotel show and watch the thunder and lightning all night. >> sounds incredible. let's talk about the warriors plans. we know they have to get back home for game five. is this severe weather going to impact the travel plans at all? >> reporter: it was a plan for both teams to leave today any way so they are not yet

delayed. their plan was to get out this morning as is our plan. and i'm watching local tv here right now and there is flooding but it isn't raining right now. we are hoping we get out along with the warriors and rockets so they can play game five tomorrow. >> all right look forward to that. be safe out there. obviously you and your photographer joe we appreciate that. that is joe fonzi our own joe fonzi live from houston. coming up at 7:00, you will hear from some of those fans that were stuck inside the toyota center following last nights playoff game. you will hear more about that unexpected sleep over they took part in there in how's to be last night because of that torrential rain. back to you. >> great update from you and joe. firefighters in vallejo investigating a suspicious fire. it started about 3:00 this morning on a home on martin street. when the firefighters got there it was engulfed in flames. the home had been vacant for 25

years but it was recently purchased by new owners. it was under construction when it first started. transients are known to be in that area. there are reports that another home next door suffered minor damage. so far there is no word of injuries. human remains found in fremont have been linked to the disappearance of an exchange student more than 30 years ago. authorities say dental records determine the bones found in 222010 is that of elizabeth martin. she was working as a nanny when she disappeared. a convicted rapist was convicted of auto theft. ray mcdonald was cut from the bears after being accused of domestic violence. ray mcdonald didn't say much about the new accusations when he he was released on bail

yesterday. police say they were called to a domestic disturbance at 3:45 yesterday morning. this incident involved a mother of his two-month-old child and there was no physical contact. the latest incident comes after his pregnant fiance accused mcdonald of hitting her in san jose last august. no charges were filed in that incident. now the chicago bears released a statement saying and i'm quoting we believe in second chances but when we signed ray we were very clear what our expectations were if he was to remain a bear. >> the fbi says it received anonymous phone threats against as many as six flights yesterday. in one case u.s. military jets escorted an air france flight into new york's jfk airport after a phone call suggesting a chemical weapon was on board. the searchers turned up nothing hazardous. passengers were stunned to learn about the threats.

>> we just have to follow the security procedures and we didn't know about the chemical weapons or anything. >> three delta flights were among those infected. the fbi says it's investigating the source of those threats. time is 6:41. more fallout over the city of oakland's decision to change how it responds to protestors. in 25 minutes how the mayor is is responding to accusations the nabbing ticks vie -- the new tactics violate law. >> some residents are complaining about noise in the skies. we'll tell you about the recent changes the faa made and what action that fed up neighbors are taking. >> there is a crash in danville on 680 southbound. look what it's doing to traffic here. we'll tell you more about this and some of the bad east bay

peoplelying in one part of the -- people living in one part of the peninsula are complaining about noise from jets flying overhead. new faa regulations may be to blame. >> reporter: the faa recently put new flight rules into effect so flight paths into sfo have changed and some people living in certain neighborhoods

say the noise is getting really bad. now here's video showing the plane traffic over a map of palo alto that a neighborhood group called sky possy posted on their website. there is five flight paths going into sfo and three go over palo alto. neighbors say they have experienced a dramatic increase in noise and planes flying low over their neighbors. the faa recently upgraded the air traffic control system from being ground base to satellite base. this was sent to guide and track planes better. but its led to commercial jet liners flying within a narrow ban of air space than before. we reached out to sfo and

your personalty. those are some of the stories we are working on for mornings on 2. a second grade boy from truckee he's sorry. he's trying to make things right. he was caught throwing rocks at cars from the school playground. >> we threw it through the fence holes and over it. >> that's how he did it and one rock about the size of a marble hit its mark. cracked the windshield of a car. the little boys mother said as soon as she got a call about what happened she called the police. >> he started crying. right away. he started crying. >> he saw me and he went whoa. you know this is real. >> i thought i was going to go to juvenile hall. >> police officer explained the little boy yeah you could have caused an accident and seriously hurt someone. well, he wrote a letter to the owner of the car saying he understands his behavior was wrong. he even offered to do chores for the owner.

580 is backed up from 24 and this morning at the bay bridge toll plaza it is backed up. the traffic is barely moving. we are looking at almost an hour delay if you're at the very end of the line trying to get on to the bridge. that is really severe. 6:48 let's go to rosemary. that is really gray. i think a lot of us waking up with cloudy skies. once again the patchy drizzle with us. we will have partly cloudy for the afternoon. giving you a live look into the east bay where that cloud cover is very wide spread. north, south, east. even into portions of the central valley because we have that delta breeze that is blowing strong enough to push it into sacramento. i want to start with a brief look at texas. we had joe ton city on the phone. he said it's really calmed down. do expect activity to build back up once we get into the afternoon but this is actually a time lapse from last night. you can see right over houston

how about 6:30 last night it started up and it kept going all the way to the over night hours. so many folks out there watching that game last night stuck underneath at least inside. but yeah it was really, really bad. and areas some areas where folks were already into their beds and asleep really didn't know what they were dealing with until they woke up this morning with major flooding and a lot of trouble going on there. here at home quite peaceful when you compare it to that. we do have a system on the east edge of washington that continues to bring us the cool weather, the cloudy skies, the thick marine layer and on shore breeze. again through the delta we have that breeze blowing from 20-30 at times and the gusts will continue for the afternoon. 71 expected in novato for today. 63 in sausalito. these numbers are very similar to yesterday. partly to mostly cloudy skies along the east bay shoreline. 65 in oakland.

if you go inland you have ten degrees of warming there. 73 for san jose today. 71 in sunnyvale. along the peninsula 71 redwood city. 66 san bruno. 61 degrees in san francisco. a cool day along the coastline upper 50s with mostly cloudy skies. going to see the a's play later today. 57 degrees an on shore breeze and partly to mostly cloudy conditions. so cool and breezy maybe plan on that bringing an extra layer for the little ones. the extended forecast here we do begin to see a rebound in teaspoon as early as tomorrow. notice we have today being the coolest day. upper 70s in the forecast for inland cities by tomorrow. and then warm into the low 8:s and then the mid 80s by thursday into friday. not a huge heatup around the bay. but inland communities will begin to feel it. >> so not a beach day but maybe a pool day. >> a pool day definitely if you

2. the man who died while scuba diving off the coast over the weekend he was a veteran and also a chp lieutenant. we're talking about 54-year-old jeffrey allen ray of roanoke park. he was diving in salt point state park on sunday when one of his friends found him unresponsive his friends and life guards tried to resuscitate him. ray was a marine corp veteran. he worked for a chp for 27 years. it's still not known why he became unconscious in the water. witnesses say a waterspout appeared suddenly yesterday in the water and then came on shore tossing a bounce house that had children playing inside of it. the bounce house was swept across a parking lot and on to the street. the parents rushed to help. three children had to be taken to the hospital. >> i was thinking i was about to die. i was in the bounce house and

then the bounce house flew out and then i fell in the dirt. >> two of the children were released from the hospital after they were treated for broken bones. a third child was kept over night for observation and said to be in stable condition. police in las vegas now investigating the death of bb king. bb king died earlier this month at the age of 89. he suffered from diabetes. but now two of his daughters claim he was poisoned by his manager and his assistant. new this morning there is a big buyout in the communications industry. charter communication is going to pay more than $55 billion to acquire time warner cable. that will create one of the largest tv and internet providers in the u.s.. time warner has been involved in several merger talks. com cast walked away from a deal after pressure from federal regulators. they are confident regulators will let this deal go through.

the giants bounce back from a tough weekend in denver with one really big inning in milwaukee. the giants sent 12 men to the plate. they had seven hits and two walks off four brewers pitchers just in that inning. giants went on to beat the brewers 8-4. tim lincecum got the win despite allowing three home runs. the a's had a big inning against the tigers. they scored four runs. last nights warriors game in houston ended with an unusual twist. a shelter in place for the fans. we'll have more on the dramatic and deadly storms that left hundreds stranded and we'll tell you what we're learning about what it was like inside that arena as everyone stayed to ride out that severe weather. >> an investigation is under way now after a possible explosion sparked a fire until san jose. how a firefighter was hurt and what the witnesses say they
