30 years ago when she disappeared. january 17, 1982 when elisabeth martinsson came here to buy a pair of boots. her friends and family never saw her alive again. it took investigators 33 years to find and identify her remains. >> reporter: hikers made it discovery in 2010. the remains belong to elisabeth martinsson missing since 1982. >> we don't have all the answers. that is what we are searching for. it is wonderful -- like i said, get closure to the family. >> she was in the area for just a couple months. one saturday she left to go shopping and never returned. ktvu fox 2 news covered her

disappearance. you can see reporting on the information released by investigators. today sheriffs talked about reopening the cold case with a press release. >> we will exhaust all leads we can. >> reporter: now the focus switched to finding the person responsibility for the death. henry coleman was considered a person of disappearance. >> her vehicle was located in oklahoma. >> reporter: investigators say there was never enough evidence to arrest him. investigators didn't go public with the information till now because they have been trying to find him. >> detectives are in the process of trying to locate the individual and determine if he is still alive. >> reporter: investigators say they will continue their work going through databases and going through death records across the county to see if he

the owner of the pipeline in santa barbara that ruptured dug down to get to the pipe. it spilled 100,000 gallons of oil on to refugio state beach. plains all american pipeline says once crews reach the pipe they will cut out the ruptured section and send it out for testing to find out what went wrong. the number of gallons spilled has been revised down by 4,000. they say in all 101,000 gallons of oil spilled. a court refused today to

lift a hold on president obama's executive action to shield millions of immigrants from deportation. the department of justice asked the court to reverse the decision, saying the president acted within his power. the plan was put on hold after 26 states sued. california attorney general kamala harris vowed to fight for the president's plan. it reads, california will continue to lead the way in defending the president's actions so we can enjoy a safer california. it is not clear whether the department of justice will appeal. in mexico the death toll from a tornado stands at 13 today. that tornado hit the city on the boarder with texas yesterday. people there are trying to pick up what is left of their homes and possessions but unfortunately some are finding very little is salvageable. the tornado destroyed 200 homes and damaged 800 others. there is good news, a family of four that was reported missing

the irs says criminals obtained personal tax information on more than 100,000 taxpayers. they got into a system that allows taxpayers to get their returns and other information. the irs says the hackers already had personal information and that is what got them into the system. the site has been shut down and the irs is contacting the taxpayers whose information was breached. >> two major chains are changing the ingredients to

shoes. he remembers when reporters came in to ask about the missing woman. >> two, three gentlemen came. >> ktvu covered her disappearance when it happened. this is video. you can see him on the set reporting on the information leased by investigators. now investigators confirm remains found in 2010 belonged to elisabeth martinsson. it took several years to identify them. >> several remains for various places on the body. and also teeth. >> henry coleman was a person of interest. investigators are now looking for him. [ indiscernible ] >> her vehicle was located in oklahoma and henry coleman was in possession of the vehicle at the time. >> he hopes the family can now find peace.
