>> golden state warriors in the nba finals in 40 years! >> yeah, fans have waited a long time for this moment, complete coverage as the warriors get ready for the nba finals. geothe -- the lack of rain in the bay area has led to one south bay city canceling its fireworks show, tell you where and why mornings on 2 continues. >> from ktvu fox 2 this is mornings on 2. well, we are live, where else would we be, but inside oracle arena this morning because the seats now say western conference finals in the front, crews still cleaning up from last night's celebration and all of that confetti that came raining down after they won the western conference title for the first time in 40 years player and fan reaction coming up in just a couple minutes but

that was a great game, worth watching past my bedtime. >> minute too. >> thank you for joining us, i'm pam cook. >> and i've dave clark check your weather and traffic rosemary in for steve, i noticed this morning it was not as chilly to me. >> it does feel warmer yeah, a little bit. and that's how we'll carry ourselves in to the afternoon just a little bit! a little bit warmer for today. and take a look at what is behind me, the sun now up and shining, up over those low clouds in some areas, most of us waking up with overcast skies the marine layer compressed a little bit from what we had yesterday and because of it, we had a little bit of drizzle out there this morning 51 degrees in santa rosa, 51 in san francisco, holding at 53 for oakland, mid 50s livermore and 56 for season, the clouds will clear back to the coast line, once again for today and our temperatures are expected to warm a few degrees above yesterday, most apparent for inland cities, the onshore breeze continues in fairfield, actually picked up a little bit in the last half our -- hour or

so, gusting, the onshore breeze tapering for the afternoon at the coast line, pacifica, 62 in san francisco mid upper 60s along the east bay shoreline fremont get in to about 70 for the afternoon, and low 80s for some of our warmer locations antioch, livermore, morgan hill, go to 80 as well widespread in the forecast for the north bay santa rosa, #45i7 -- 74, napa 74, in your weekend temperatures will continue to climate least for the first half how long this warming trend will last, just how warm i expect it will get and the cool down to follow by the second part of the weekend more on that coming up good morning sal. >> good morning, rosemary right now looking at a commute where things are getting more crowded for sure, bait bridge -- bay bridge toll plaza to the mcarthur maze, those lights are on and traffic will be a little bit slow getting there, 15 to 20 minute delay before you get it on to the span, if you're

thinking of using the san mateo bridge instead traffic looks good on that span heading to the high rise and this morning's commute okay on westbound 580 but getting slow over the altamont pass, does get better by the time we reach dublin, back to the desk. >> thank you. time 6:03 and guess what, the time is right for the warriors. >> and going to the finals! >> harrison barnes, and this equals the larnl -- largest lead in the game! >> heat it up! warriors eliminated the houston rockets, 104-90, barnes 24 points which came from the 4th quarter, curry led all forces, 26 points and they shook off a slow start took advantage of the 13 turnovers. there was another scare though, of course for the warriors 4th quarter, gosh, i hate to watch

this, klay thompson actually -- accidentia yally -- accidentally kneed in the head by arisa he was put by a concussion evaluation, didn't show symptoms but after the game he didn't feel well, did develop concussion-like symptoms and will have to pass the nba's concussion protocol before being cleared to play in the final. >> the break will be good for him, probably good for all of our guys with the run we've been on, but especially for klay. >> a proud moment for everyone in the bay area, to be four wins away from,um up, you know, our goal. >> to be able to do it you know here in front of these great fans that, you know, deserve so much, and to be able to advance to the finals, i mean has, it was a perfect night for us. >> yeah, it's not going to be easy though, because the warriors have a little guy known by lebron james! right, cleveland cavaliers in the finals starts a week from today, we don't want to see

come their unwavering devotion paid off reporter alex savidge joins us now from oracle arena where there are still remnants lying around from last night's celebration, we see the crews. >> yeah, confetti is still flying! sort of. here inside oracle this morning after a one of a kind party at the arena, it was amazing. it was the kind of night that i think a lot of warriors fans including myself did not want to end, it has been a long time coming nearly four decades since the warriors have been to the nba finals, they finally did it last night the people have waited a lifetime for this, inside of oracle, where it all happened the magical ride continues for the golden state warriors, knocked them off last night in the western conference finals, still cleaning up after the post game celebration that was underway here. confetti was everywhere, may have been a few beers maybe some champaign consumed in the

warriors locker room, after that final buzzer sounded at the end of game five, it it's been nearly 40 years since the team has been to the finals and the dubs, of course, took care of the rockets last night with a 4-1 series win, many fans told us they did not want this night to end. >> my first game ever what an amazing game, right? >> awesome! >> lebron's tough, he's proven, but [ indiscernible ] better team, we're deeper. and they've got to come to roaracle. >> reporter: this is what things looked like outside of oracle last night following the game fireworks lit up the night sky above the arena and of course now dub nation is hoping for abeven -- an even bigger party want to celebrate a title, and of course, the west of the warriors can grab four more wins, they can head to the bay area, bring an nba championship here to the bay area and of course, that would

be pretty nice, something folks here haven't seen in decades, and of course, on the other side of things, there's a guy named lebron james and he might have a few things to say about that, he is the, the, what is standing in the way of the warriors winning another nba title, king james and the cavs, they will be coming to town for game one of the nba finals, that will be played one week from today thursday night 6:00 p.m. tippoff, game one here at oracle game two here also at oracle here on sunday and then after that the series shifts back to cleveland for games three and four. now, listen up dub nation, if you're trying to get your hands on some of that warriors western conference championship gear, the hats and shirts, they are available today, the ones that steph and company were wearing last night during the celebration, the warriors team store will be open at 10:00 a.m. arena, also a store at westfield shopping center in san

francisco, you can pick up your hats and shirts, show off your pride. >> yeah, a lot of that around town, thank you, alex. >> reporter: i think so. >> all right, 6:08, the time. continuing coverage of the warriors also the road to the nba finals on facebook and twitter. all right our time is 6:09, the drought, having a big impact on the popular south bay event the city of cupertino canceling its 4th of july show to save water. ktvu fox 2 janine de la vega joining us live, in cupertino talking to people out there good morning, janine. >> reporter: good morning yeah, we're here in a neighborhood, dave that is right next to cupertino high school right across the street and fireworks are launched from the field here and this is something the people who live here look forward to, the streets blocked off, everybody barbecues and watches the fireworks but not anymore.

the fireworks celebration on the 4th of july attracts thousands of spectators in cupertino but to prepare for the display the city says 100,000 gallons of water is used to spray on the field in the high school to protect damage, but damage still o kirs it has denied the city from using the fields because of extreme drought conditions, it's unclear if it's because of the water use for preparation of the field or if it's the water that might be needed if a fire sparks, either way it's a huge disappointment for residents. >> i walk and run every morning and i see that all the springlers -- sprinklers and running off water in the street that should be taken off before fireworks are taken away, i don't think it's that much water that's wasted, i think the water i see here everyday is more than that would be. i think it's a shame that, you know we're taking away that

fun. >> the city will still host a 4th of july celebration with a pancake breakfast parade live music and various block parties but the city hasn't found an alternate location to launch this year's fireworks and firnls -- officials haven't indicated if they plan on keeping looking for a venue, we are waiting to hear back from them and we plan on reaching out to other organizations to see in other cities to see if the drought is a concern or if they still plan on going forward with their fireworks plans for 4th of july. dave? >> all right very interesting janine de la vega. time now 6:11 after a three hour long standoff hostage situation in antioch ended peacefully early yesterday afternoon, the suspect holed up inside an arco gas station he had the owner of the gas station and an employee inside with him. now, the situation started about an hour earlier near antioch's autorow, anthony hernandez and

his daughter esperanza at the front desk of their autobody shop heard a crash, the suspect plowed his car in to one of their customer [ bleep ] car -- customer's cars, father and daughter ran out to help, the suspect pulled a gun on them before running away. >> that's scary, i actually talked to him and he ended up pulling two people hostage what if he would've freaked out right at the point when it all happened? >> after that crash police say the suspect ran a block away to mike's autobody and stole a newly purchased car the new owner had left his cell phone inside the car that allowed police to track that suspect, shortly after that, police say the suspects stole another car and crashed it near this arco station, that's when the hostage situation started. after a couple of hours a 35-year-old suspect here surrendered, the hostages were not hurt, police say the suspect has a long criminal record that includes stolen cars, drugs, and

service says it's going to keep raining through sunday. the parts of oklahoma could get a half foot of rain. the runoff could rush downstream to houston texas and flood parts of that city in suburban houston, the san jacinto river a above the flood stage if people don't evacuate they could be stand. the chp located that little girl seen struggling with a girl inside an suv as it went through a bay bridge toll booth saturday night now after photos of the suv appeared on television the man who was driving the suv actually contacted the chp yesterday and investigators talked to him and the little girl. >> we also sent officers out to the residence, interviewed the 12-year-old juvenile confirmed she was in the back seat of the vehicle at the time and

confirmed that she is safe, not harmed at the time of the incident. >> investigators say the little girl was actually trying to break up a quarrel between the male driver and the female passenger, the woman who has been identified as 47-year-old lado nrk -- ladonna johnson has bins sins been -- since been arrested by police in a separate case for suspicion of child abuse. a lab in utah accidentally sent live samples of anthrax to facilities in nine states including california. the pentagon's now working with the centers for disease control and prevention trying to xwet those simples back, researchers were supposed to receive dead or inactive samples of anthrax to be studied, four people working in labs where the anthrax was sent, they're now being given preventive treatment for exposure, the labs that received the anthrax not identified. 17 minutes after 6:00, we should check in with sal. >> right over there.

corruption scandal in soccer involving fifa, the governing body of world soccer, the controversial president of fifa sepp blatter is refusing to step down. now the european football associations announced they're going to vote for blatter's opponent in tomorrow's presidential election, before the big scandal blatter was seen as a shoe-in to win a fifth term all of these developments come after a 47 count indictment against members of fifa, they're accused of taking millions of dollars in bribes and kickbacks for awarding world cup tournaments to specific countries. time is now 6:26, government officials say the hackers the ones who stole personal information of 100,000 american taxpayers, probably from russia. the information was taken from a website called get transcript which has now been shut down. officials say the theft was part of a sophisticated scheme to try to claim $50 million in fraudulent tax refunds not the first time the irs has been

very nicely in front of the coliseum and in to downtown oakland but slow traffic going the other way 880 between hayward and union city, a little bit of slow traffic there, it does get better by the time you reach fremont, go back to the desk. >> thank you. if you're a warriors fan and i know you are 40 long years for many warriors fans, but one week from tonight the nba finals will return to the bay area. >> curry to barnes, barnes with the flush! >> harrison barnes is tough, the warriors started off kind of slow but finished strong harrison barnes had a big night 24 points in the 104-90 win over the rockets game five last night, splash brothers curry and thompson combined for 46 points. >> trying to cap you know, we said we had one goal to win a world championship, step one to us so we on our way. >> right now still feels like we

won a game, it hasn't really hit me, i can't believe we're in the finals we're not done yet. >> yeah, now the team turn their attention to the cavaliers and lebron james still think about klay thompson here, he showed concussion-like symptoms after the game, he was accidentally kneed right there, hard too in the side of his head, trevor ariza didn't mean to do it, happened in the 3rd quarter klay thompson is being checked out by the team. now, they won, they won big, you and i were watching it, the confetti rained down inside oracle arena last night, incredible to watch, 20,000 warrior fans celebrating one of the most significant victories in warriors franchise history and this morning one of my favorite players ktvu alex savidge live inside the arena the oracle lived up to its name, one of the loudest arenas in the nation probably still cheering

[ laughter ] i can hear a faint cheer, even though there's nobody left in the stands here at oracle very faint cheer i hear it in my own head unless that's weird. roaracle it was roaring last night, and it was an incredible win, and i bet you a lot of warriors fans are waking up this morning like me thinking maybe it was all a dream still really hard to believe, the team going back to the nba finals, for the first time in 40 years almost 40 years and it's really, just unbelievable, just to think about that for warriors fans, the nba finals kick off a week from today tickets they go on sale tomorrow in case you're interested in attending let me show you the scene the hard working crew of oracle busy cleaning up after the post game party, and it was quite a party confetti rained down on the fans, i understand there was a bit of a party inside the warriors locker room, maybe some champaign was consumed there

after the game, the final buzzer sounded at the end of game five and the warriors and their fans began a celebration nearly four decades in the headaching, that's -- making, that's the laift time they -- last time they went to the finals, 41 tp last night the confetti came down the team celebrated they received a western conference championship trophy for the large crowd on hand, many people told us it was an amazing night and they're excited tore -- for what's next. >> this is what we've been waiting for and finally we got it you know what this is history for us because we've been doing this for a long time! finally we got it, the greatest feeling of all time! wins and bring an nba championship home here to the bay area it will be quite a feat, of course. there is, a gentleman by the name of lebron jaiws -- james though he plays on the cavaliers and has a thing to say about the warriors winning another title the caving and king james coming to town one week from today, game one of the nba finals it will be played here at oracle arena in oakland, next thursday night tippoff at 6:00 p.m., game two the following sunday also here at oracle and then the series shifts back to cleveland for games three and four. now, i think a lot of fans out there this morning are wondering how they can get their hands on that western conference championship gear this morning the stuff that steph and klay and the rest of the squad was wearing as they celebrated the warriors team store opens at 10:00 this morning also another warriors team store in the city at the westfield shopping center

facebook and on twitter. well, former san francisco 49er ray mcdonald has been arrested again ktvu fox 2 reporter tara moriarty live at the santa clara police department why he's in trouble this time. >> reporter: his attorney says neither he nor his client knew about a restraining order he says mcdonald was at this particular residence with the defense investigator in order to take pictures for evidence. now monday as you may recall, mcdonald was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and child endangerment, he allegedly kicked in a door and attacked a woman while she was holding a baby at 4:00 in the morning, the chicago bears released him after less than three months on the team, yesterday he showed up at the home in santa clara before 3:00 apparently to take pictures to show the door was intact, he was gone before officers arrived but found him at a nearby sandwich shop booked in to jail, back in

august you may recall he was arrested on suspicion of felony domestic violence against his then fiancee but charges were not filed it is unclear if that woman is the same woman involved in this current incident. now also in december, san jose police said they were investigating mcdonald for an alleged sexual assault the woman said that mcdonald had raped her after she slipped on a wet swimming pool deck and suffered a traumatic brain injury, just the latest in a string of incidents and of course let you know if we receive any updates from santa clara police, live from santa clara, i'm tara moriarty. >> we'll check in with you with updates. 6:41 two police officers arrested two men spektded -- suspected of stealing copper wire from the bay bridge leading to the bike path, this incident happened yesterday they spotted the men acting suspiciously. the officers say the men had a large trash bag full of copper wire and that it appears they

were breaking in to electrical boxes, chp now waiting on an estimate of how it happened and that will determine whether they're charged can misdemeanors or felonies. all right our time 6:41, a suspect surrenders then is taken in to custody after a very tense hostage standoff at a gas station in the bay area. >> can you tell us, how everything went in there? >> just a hostage. >> coming up in 20 minutes more from that hostage and what we found out about the suspect. and it is fair season, folks, we are live here at the contra costa county fairgrounds a tradition here since 1979, coming up, what's new about this fair coming up.

driver kerry lynn morgan of vacaville, that's after toxicology reports confirmed she was high on a combination of drugs that included methamphetamine and marijuana. on november 8, morgan was seen driving westbound on the eastbound shoulder of the bridge she did not have her headlights on, she crashed head on in to a nissan and then careened in to another car now 36-year-old jared petty of richmond and his 35-year-old wife angie were in the nissan and she was critically injured. >> when she came to icu she had fractured her skull, fractured both legs, her arm tore all the ligaments in her neck, they had to restructure her neck. >> the krp says -- chp says morgan was driving a stolen car during that incident and facing four felonies and six misdemeanor geez a week since that broken oil poeup line spilled thousands of gallons of
