the 580 clete a -- split. the pedestrian who was hit by the suspect was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injury. this was the second pursuit this week that ended in a bystander hit. the chase came to a stop when the suspect's car was wedged between two other cars. two other drivers were hurt and cars damaged. the suspect in that case michael cortez was booked for reckless driving and evading police. he was on probation for an attempted murder in san francisco. the san francisco board of supervisors rejected a time-out on housing developments in the

mission district. hundreds showed up to comment. the board listened for eight hours to stop housing for 48 days. that would give the city a time to come up with ideas. >> what we need to do is focus on the building of affordable housing to do that, we need to preserve the land. >> the proposed moratorium won't prevent judges -- evictions. it's the wrong approach. >> the board voted in favor of the moratorium but it needed nine votes for the proposal. affordable housing
