officers after becoming radicalized by isis. >> the family does not have any evidence that he was involved with isil. >> the family said they plan to view surveillance video of the shooting today and then go on with funeral plans. new developments in the appearance of tar balls along the southern california shore. this time they are appearing on the long beach coast line and four miles of beaches have been closed. tar balls also shut down manhattan beach and ventura county. they are testing samples to determine the source of the tar balls. they are trying to determine if they are connected to the santa barbara oil spill. >> we have identified a increase on product on the beaches and we are taking every action to minemize impact.

of marijuana will be regulated. marijuana growers in the state will be required to submit their plants for testing to the department of food and agricultural to ensure patient safety. this is a combination of two bills. >> this bill regulates marijuana from cultivation todispensing. >> before -- to dispensing. >> it must be passed by the state senate. a record 54% of california residents favor legalizing marijuana. 44% are opposed. the results are similar nationwide with 53% in favor, 42% opposing. a crack down in daly city targeting people who abused handicap placards. it effects every city in the bay area. ktvu's mike mibach shows us how the sing all started with

she had told 911 that she was armed with an uzi. in a report the district attorney's office said given the appearance of the drill and the report, the officer who shot her was reasonable in thinking it was a real gun. prosecutors concluded the officer acted lawfully saying the law allows for the use of deadly force by police when faced with imminent danger. support for a bill mandating vaccines for children before they could go to school. they released a new poll. 67% of california adults believe unvaccinated children should not be allowed to attend public schools. a bill to end the perm belief exemption passed the senate and will be taken up this summer. the poll found 84% of adults find vaccines are very safe. bad news for fans of homes.

who isn't a match with a loved one but the loved one donates to a second recipient and the chain keeps going. the matches are made with the help of software and a process gets a very long waiting list moving. >> the waiting times in the area of the country which are approaching 8 years really makes us motivated to take technology and share it so we can benefit the patients. >> the software allows for a slaberation between -- collaboration between the hospitals to speed up the matching process. >> graduation a time of new begins. that was true for one california girl. she was paralyzed from the waist down in a car accident when she was four. she was determined to walk on stage at the middle school graduation. it took a year for her to strengthen her core and upper body for the big -- body for the big walk.
