areas. west 80 looks pretty good. westbound 580 as you drive out through buchanan and central. chp is reporting an accident there and traffic will be slow as you head to the richmond bridge. a little bit of fog coming in part of the bay area. bay bridge metering lights are on and traffic is backed up for a 20 minute delay before you make it on to the span. if you are driving on the 680 freeway out of pleasanton i have noticed some stop and go traffic. i noticed stop and goal traffic on westbound 580. now at 6:01 let's go back to the desk. happening today it is the kick off of the a worldwide developers conference. it focuses on what is new. tara moriarty is live in san francisco. this year one of the hot topics will be music streaming. >> reporter: that is right and there are hundreds of people here. some of these people have been

camped out over night. they are in their sleeping bags. they have breakfast ready. the people at the very front of the line have been here since 7:00 last night. so complete die hard techies. if you take a look behind me, you can see just how big this line is. a lot of the folks are developers. those are the folks that create apps for different apple devices. this line it just keeps growing. it now spans three city blocks. it wraps all the way around the corner and it's actually making its way back toward the front door. now this morning apple is expected to unvail its push to change the way it buys and sells music. think spotify. it wants to offer apple users a chance to avoid the time consuming music down loads. >> more quality in our softwares and iphones because the music market is shifting to streaming in a general way. so it's better to have music on the go without having to store

them locally. >> now pandora has been around far long time and has tens of millions of users so apple is hoping to get into that niche. apple will pay $10 a month and you can listen to any song or album you want. one of the things you won't see here today is the new apple tv set top box. apple has been working on the new devices. in the past about 5,000 apple partners and outside developers attend this event. we know the doors open at 10:00 and if those people you can see them in the light blue shirts over there the t-shirts they had made, they just received a huge round of applause. not sure what they did that is very exciting of course we will find out and a lot of folks have been wearing the black t- shirts with 15 on the back. 2015. that would be again the die hard apple fans. reporting live i'm tara moriarty back to you. >> all right thank you tara. 6:04 is the time. another nail biting overtime game for the nba finals.

i think the first time ever the first two games went into overtime. but former st. maries star matthew dellavedova made what turned out to be a pair of game winning free throws. >> this is the finals. it's hard. we had a tough night. so you have to move on. you have to learn from it. and get better. >> i'm not going to let one game alter my confidence. i know as a team we're not going to let one game alter our beliefs. that we are going to win the series. >> it's the great squad we have.

it's not cute at all. if you are looking for us to play sexy, cute basketball, that is not us. it's not us right now. everything is tough. >> yeah it wasn't cute. they missed a bunch of shots but they still won the first time nba history the first two games of the finals went into overtime. >> that game wore me out. hundreds of warriors fans watching the game. hoping to see the same kind of overtime win the warriors pulled out in game one. they were loud. they packed petes tavern and pedro cantina. fans were given their rally towels and thunder sticks despite the warriors loss they were still proud of how the players battled back. >> we'll never give up. no matter if we're the best team in the league ranked number one over all or could have been the eighth seed. we will play that hard every night. i say that is why we play. and that is why we watch.

because we don't know what is going to happen. and that is why they call the upsets. >> this is one of the official warriors watch parties. it benefited the warriors community foundation. the series now heads to cleveland for two games. tomorrow and thursday. ktvu has a crew going to cleveland. we will bring you live coverage tomorrow morning. game five that is sunday back many in oakland. oakland police will be getting help from the fbi to solve the city's homicides. [ inaudible ] they will be working together to identify and arrest suspected killers in the backlog of cases. oakland police say working directly with federal agents will give them access to fbi data bases but the partnership is drawing criticism from civil rights activists who are worried about privacy issues. new video provides a

different perspective on a deadly police shooting in oakland. cell phone video captured the stand off between oakland police and a man with a loaded gun inside a silver bmw saturday morning. police were giving commands through a loud speaker. a woman took the video inside a salon and she says from her perspective, officers did everything they could to get the man to give up. enter they tried. they tried to get the man out. they gave him the benefit of the doubt. >> he did fight to not get out. tug of war and they took a couple police officers to get him out of the vehicle. >> after breaking the cars passenger window, one officer used a taser on the man. the other opened fire and shot him. oakland's police chief says investigators are still interviewing the officers involved and reviewing footage from their body cameras. time is 6:08. big news from bart. bart is planning to stop all service between san francisco and the east bay during the

first weekend in august and over the three-day labor day weekend. that is because of critical track maintenance. bart will be offering a bus bridge between oakland and san francisco during that five day transbay tube shut down. the crews will replace track at the west oakland bart station. the bart system is 43 years old. a lot of its tracks are reaching the end of their service life. bart has budgeted $20 million in the next fiscal year to replace its aging track. >> that will probably put a lot of extra cars on the road too. >> we will see is that too. 6:09 is the time. there is a massive man hunt in new york for two convicted killers who escaped from a maximum security prison. coming up at 6:30, more on the sophisticated plan and the questions officials are still trying to answer. >> but up next the tear gas used outside of a big concert look at this scene. the situation that prompted a

welcome back to mornings on 2. furious concert fans in new jersey are speaking out against a police lock down at met life stadium in new jersey. a fight last night inside the annual hip hop summer jam forced them to shut the gates. hundreds of people were blocked from getting in including some who paid thousands of dollars for their tickets. that is when authorities say the angry crowd tried to force their way inside. >> people have been standing out here for over 3.5 hours just trying to get into a concert that they paid their money for and they wouldn't let us in. the way they treat us is like animal. i never do this again. >> some of the people there are accused of throwing bottles at the police. police used tear gas to break up the crowd and there were several arrests. still not clear if anyone was hurt. organizers say refunds will be offered to ticketholders who's tickets were not scanned. a suburban dallas, texas police officer is on leave after he was caught on video kneeling on a 14-year-old girl

and pointing his gun at other teenagers. it all started when officers responded to a disturbance at a pool party on friday. officers say they tried to keep the situation out of control. an officer was caught on camera kneeling on the girl while she was face down and pointing his gun at other teenagers. >> i understand how he was feeling everybody surrounding him but i don't think he should have pulled a gun on 15-year- old kids. him getting fired isn't enough. >> police made one arrest. a neighbor said she thought the officers own safety was at risk. although true driverless cars are not available to consumers yet, some of the newer cars on the market come close. 2016 volvo suv with the latest driver assist technology. it features 12 sensors and four cameras. they work hand and hand with the state of the art on board computer.

tom tried it out on a jammed freeway during the afternoon commute using only the push buttons on the steering wheel. >> slowing down. brakes on. methought touching. no foot on the accelerator or the brake. cadillac accelerates. volvo accelerates. brakes followed by brakes. >> and it brakes. tom says this type of driver says technology eliminates the constant going back and forth between the gas and brake. it also features lane keeping technology. it keeps you in your lane until you are ready to say you're out. i'm waiting to see pam cook try it out. >> on these mornings when you said you were in the quick with the coffee your car could take you to work. you could get extra sleep. >> yeah. could you imagine one day when you can get into your car and ache a nap. >> i don't know.

welcome back to mornings on 2. we are learning more about the man killed in san francisco when his bike collided with a police car over the weekend. authorities say 23-year-old donald pinkerton family and friends say he was an avid cyclist, very active in the cities bike polo scene. he was riding home friday night when he collided with a police car at sunny dale. police are still investigating exactly what happened. time is 6:23. the family of a woman hit in the head by that broken bat at fenway park they are saying thank you to the oakland a's and boston red sox for their

prayers and well wishes. 44-year-old tonya carpenter still in serious condition this morning in boston. on friday she was sitting between home plate an third base dugout when she was hit in the head of broken bat of oakland a's third baseman brett lowery. she is expected to survive. fox sports is reporting the accident may have been avoided if major league baseball had acted on the request of players for more protective netting out there.

they are also down playing the arrest of one of the biggest stars during a news conference yesterday the team talked about goal keeper hope solos arrest for domestic violence in june of last year. the charges were dropped but now prosecutors have appealed to have the charges reinstated. some are questioning whether her recent legal troubles are a distraction for the team. now again the united states starts its run for the cup this afternoon against australia. you can watch that game on fox sports one. and then friday you can see the national team as they take on sweden at 5:00 p.m.. and then they close out the group stage of the tournament june 16th against nigeria. that is also right here on ktvu

channel 2 at 5:00 p.m.. renovation work has uncovered a peace of history behind damaged walls. the contractor removed a modern day chalk board and discovered black boards with delicate and very colorful drawings. the date written on the board november 30th, 1917. the teachers and school principal were amazed. >> i got tears in my eye and then i sat in here and stared. it was like walk into a time capsule. it's like they just left the lesson and they are expecting to come back the next day and start again. >> that renovation work has been stopped for now. the school district is trying to find a way to preserve the black boards. 6:26 is the time. the warriors regrouping after a loss in game two. former st. mary's star a big part of cleveland's win.

it's a little too hot? >> no very nice. there is is a lot of fog on parts of the coast but without a screaming north, northeast breeze it's tough for them to warm up when there is that much fog. inland temps will be warm to hot. san jose seeing hot clouds. fog doesn't show up. 60s for some. 50s low for others. 52 half-moon bay. 52 santa rosa yet 61 mountain view. san jose is in there. 65 livermore and 60 in hayward. ing to still hugging the coast but there is already clear skies in eg. you can believe that. yes, i believe that. ready for a warmup. well not so much on the coast but inland yes. 53 i will go 73 for a high today. there will be some areas that don't reach that. inland temps will be very warm. and we'll deal with the remains of blanca. some of that already moving toward us. it will be here tomorrow.

fog near the coast. nice to mild to warm to hot. really hot for some. 100s for a few. 60s and 70s by the water. all right sal did i hear you say there is a couple things going on here? >> yeah there are a couple of things. one of the things would be eastbound highway 4 we just got word of a crash. it does sound like it's going to be a little bit serious here but first we will start off with a look at some of the other things we have here. just all of a sudden we have the slow traffic which is not out of the ordinary but we have slow traffic here at the bay bridge. i was kind of thinking that today we are going to have a little bit lighter as we are in june but not quite yet. 880 traffic does move okay here in both directions. i do want to mention that highway 4 is slow westbound coming up to the willow pass grade. eastbound highway 4 at loveridge there is a crash there but you saw how slow it was westbound. eastbound traffic is going to be slow. it looks like a lot of the lanes are blocked here and

traffic will start slowing down. this is typically the noncommute direction. an investigation is under way in watsonville after police shot and killed a man they say shot and injured a police sergeant. the shootings happened at 6:30 on saturday. when they tried to stop the suspect he took off running. at least two officers ran after him. that is when the officers shot and killed the man. the sergeant that was injured was released from the hospital yesterday. all right was it an inside job? a female worker at a new york state prison is being questioned about possibly being an accomplice in the escape of two convicted killers. this prison break was like something out of a movie.

david sweat and richard matt used power tools. that is how they broke out of the clinton correctional facility over the weekend. the guards found the inmates beds empty and there was a note saying have a nice day. we still don't know how the men were able to get the tools they used in that escape but officials say it must have taken days for them to break through the steel walls, the pipes and the bricks. >> the precision of the operation it was truly extraordinary. and unusual and almost impossible to duplicate but we want to find out exactly what happened. >> both of the escapees are considered very dangerous. matt dangerous. president obama attending the second and final day of the group of summit in germany. now the group photo of president obama along with the leaders from germany, uk, france, italy, canada, and

pipeline that coach randy bennett developed since he took over in 2001. >> for me it's a need for the guys in the kids in this community. they have grown up seeing matt play for st. maries. guys like patty and matt go on to the nba there is really nothing better for marketing than that. they both happen to play and have great careers at st. mary's college. so we look forward to keeping that connection going. six guys from australia on our team next year. >> reporter: dellavedova has made it to the nba the hard way. he is st. mary's all-time leading score but was undrafted when he came out of college in 2013. dellavedova participated in cleveland's summer camp that year and earned a two year contract. many players were much more highly regarded coming out of college but no longer have a shot at playing in the nba. >> i got some opportunities along the way and just tried to make the most of them.

>> he is really good in intangibles. really high basketball iq. really tough. >> reporter: that toughness has been a source of controversy. in the cavs play off series with atlanta kyle korver suffered a severely sprained ankle after this scramble with dellavedova. >> we have something going on here. >> reporter: mixed it up under the basket on this play. dellavedova has been cast in some circle as a villain. >> i obviously disagree with it. i'm just worried about what i need to do to prepare for this series. >> matt is going to play to win. he's never dirty. i've never seen him make a dirty play. physical, yes. competitive, yes. he plays with great integrity and i think people backed off that pretty quick. >> reporter: if you're an australian basketball fan the warriors and cavs are a dream matchup. ah cities are represented by both dellavedova and the

we look forward to that story. 6:48 is the time. >> let's see what sal is seeing on the roads. it's getting busy out there. >> it sure is. we have slow traffic to be sure. i've been watching this crash on highway 4 and i want to go right to it. eastbound highway 4 one person was trapped. it's causing slow traffic eastbound but also westbound is going to be slow in antioch. it's also slow after the crash. 680 is slow coming down through walnut creek so you will see a lot of slow traffic in this area. we're also looking at traffic here in san francisco 101, 280 and highway 1, 19th avenue as you drive past state a little bit of crowded conditions but nothing too major. let's go to the toll plaza. traffic is backed up for a 20- 25 minute delay. it's getting a little bit better. in san jose it's been nice and quiet. northbound 280 is getting crowded out of downtown on the

surge. last year they saw 29 husband baby delivers. it is the highest since the start of the recession in 2008 but this year the hospital expects to meet or exceed that birthrate. a search is under way to help an 11-year-old santa rosa girl who needs a bone marrow donor. her name is sofia tez. she needed monthly blood transfusion since she was born. she needs a bone marrow match for her long-term survival. the group say there is is a shortage of ethnic donors and encourage people to sign up saying the process of donating is similar to giving blood. >> we give you 5 days of injections to stimulate the blood cells in your body. we draw your blood out from one arm. we separate the stem cells and that will be a donation and the rest of your blood will be injected back to your body.
