good morning. welcome again. it's tuesday, june 9th. i'm tori campbell. i'm dave clark. let's talk about weather and traffic. did you see any fog coming in? >> i did on the caldecott. >> i mentioned you about an hour ago. we showed the fog and i said you and i are elbowing each other to get in line -- >> for the west wind. >> dave is right. tori is right. we had the fog coming in. the high clouds are streaming in from the remains of what was hurricane blanca. it's going to give us, i think, a wide variety of weather later today. there will be some sun in the morning. extremely tricky call 0 on the -- call on the forecast. the fog is thicker here and kevin leavey in sausalito knows his weather. carl the fog, on twitter, he's giving sausalito a rather cold and blustery reception. if you didn't have that fog yesterday, you might inland. everybody will join the party here on the cloud cover coming up. there were 500 or so lightning

strikes observed with this right off the coast. it looks like it will stay off the coast. but i will tell you, it's so close. 50s, 60s on the temps. it's going to be very warm inland. then the clouds will come streaming in. we'll cut of edge off the temps. we'll cloud it up and have showers and possible showers. morning fog, sun and then clouds roll in here fast. it will be humid. not as hot. thunderstorms are possible and showers. 80s, 90s inland. 50s, 60s by the coast. i've been so busy. i haven't heard a word you've said. >> i understand the busy part. you are doing a lot with the weather. i'm doing a lot with the traffic. westbound 580 we had the truck that caught fire, 580 at the tail da month pass -- altamont pass. the traffic is recovering. they did a good job getting it out of the way. 205 slow out of tracy.

580 through livermore is moderate. 680 is not that bad and then more slow traffic on the nimitz freeway heading south. let's go to the bay bridge toll plaza. i want to show you the traffic is backed up for a 15, 20- minute delay getting into -- or just getting on the bridge itself. as we take a look at downtown san jose and the valley commute, northbound 280 is slow getting up to highway 17, so is 101 andle 5 -- and 85. we're not seeing any june gloom that we thought would get better. before saratoga, they were clearing an accident on the onramp. that's causing this slow traffic you see. back to the desk. new this morning an investigation is underway in novato after several cars were set on fire. tara moriarty is live at the chevy dealership off redwood boulevard with more on why firefighters are calling it suspicious. good morning, tara. >> reporter: good morning. if you take a look, you can see one of the chevy volts up in

flames. quite extensive dam inside -- damage inside. you can see the wires and the foam exposed there. we are in a very secluded area of the car lot behind a chinese restaurant. if you look to the left, you can see that there is a space there. it looks like that's where a car used to be. it was towed away. metal is melted. we know there's extensionive damage to at least two of these cars. people started to hear explosions and saw flames around 11:30. when crews arrived, they found two cars on fire. they bowed the flames. brought arson in. the chevy volts are hybrid cars. now that the sun has come up, investigators may be coming out here to take another look. the owner has just arrived. we will try to speak to him and let you know what he has to say. i'm tara moriarty, back to you. >> all right. look forward to hearing any comments he's willing to share with you. thank you. we're getting a break from the heat today as we just heard

steve mention. but yesterday caused a lot of problems for commuters on b.a.r.t. we were told the delays were as long as 45 minutes. they said a power system overheated. there were delays on the daly city line because of an equipment problem the the high temperatures also led to miami roadwork. caltrans crews spent six and a half hours repairing the pavement on the richmond/san rafael bridge. the record heat cause the road to warp. traffic was backed up for miles heading into the east bay. all right. 7:05. can we talk basketball? the nba finals resume tonight. everything has shifted to cleveland. the warriors trying to bounce back from that disappointing loss in game 2. now, the series tied at 1 game apiece heading into tonight's game three.

ktvu's joe fonzi is there. joe will take a look at the similarities and the differences between oakland and cleveland. 7:06. happening today, san francisco's board of supervisors is scheduled to vote on whether to require health warnings on sugary drinks. the ordinance would require warnings on ads for sodas and bus stops in the city. it would also ban ads for sugary beverages on city owned property. it would not allow city money to be used for buying those drinks. if approved, the rules would go into effect next year. supporters say the law would help education people about a health risk. but some businesses say the laws would scapegoat an entire industry. san francisco-based wells fargo bank is facing a religious backlash over one of its ads. alex savidge is lafn now to explain -- is live now to explain who is taking ike with

this. >> the son of billy graham is the one calling for a boycott of wells fargo and also promising to stop doing business with the bank and it's all because of this tv ad. ♪ >> this is the spot that came out back in april that shows two women learning sign language, a lesbian couple going to adopt a daughter. this ad was one of six commerce sals in a national -- commercials in a national campaign lawn fned in april to show case the bank's diversity of clients. gay rights group say this spot is a brave move by wells fargo. >> i think we've seen across the country that there are many, many corporations who are really stepping out in support of what they know to be values of equity and fairness. wells fargo has certainly been part of that. >> however, franklin graham,

son of billy graham, responded 0 this ad and posted on his facebook page, how did we fight the tide of moral decay? he also says, they are in the process of moving their accounts from wells fargo to another undisclosed bank. he's also calling for a boycott. he wants christians to boycott wells fargo. he's hoping people will stop doing business with companies that in his words promote sin. now, graham's pr firm told ktvu last night that he was unavailable for a comment on this issue. wells fargo for its part says it is committed to diversity and inclusion and tori, wells fargo says it plans to continue running that ad and the others that are part of this series. >> all right. thank you, alex. >> sure. 7:09. using technology to crack down on potential water wasters as one water agency is encouraging people to snitch by using their smartphones. the placer county water agency is trying to get the word out

about the smartphone app. it allows people to report neighbors who are violating restrictions. users take a fifth of the violation. the app then sends the photo, a time tarp and gps coordinates to the controls. the person responsible could then face a $500 fine. the agency says it's only given warnings so far. people living in placer county have mixed reactions to turns their neighbors in -- turning their neighbors in. >> see the same people gutter fluting. i decided i was gonna give the app a try. >> i like my neighbors too much. they would have to commit a felony before i said anything. >> so far only about00 people have downloaded -- about 100 people have downloaded the app. the agency paid $10,000 to create it. we now know which parts of the nation are most at risk for wildfires this summer. it may be no surprise that california is at the top of the list. the fire center says a wet

there's still a heavy police presence in new york as they search for two escaped killers who broke out of a prison four days ago. police are checking vehicles at several checkpoints across the state. new york governor andrew cuomo went to the prison yesterday to

see how the two inmates may have escaped. investigators are questioning a female prison employee who tailored clothing at the prison. >> we're looking at the private contractors and some of the civilian employees to see if they were supplying the equipment that these people needed to do it because they obviously had to have assistance. >> sources say the female employee being questioned is a possible accomplice knows the inmates "very well." a $100,000 reward is being offered in the case. authorities say they have received more than 300 leads so far. there is a growing call for a white texas police officer to be fired after he was caught on camera kneeling on a 15-year- old african-american girl and pointing his gun at other teens. hundred rallied in mckibny last night -- mckinney last night. they believe the officer went

too far when he arrived at a pool party where several fights had been reported. demonstrators say the officer's actions were extreme and race definitely was a factor. the officer is currently on administrative leave. 7:15. former first lady barbara bush celebrating her 90th birthday. the bush family gathered yesterday at the family vacation home in maine. you can see mrs. bush right in the center. for her birthday party. it included the 41st and 43rd u.s. presidents as well as jeb bush. he was there hoping to be the 45th president. after the party, barbara bush hosted a gala promoting literacy which she was supported for years and years. well, if you use uber in south florida, you may end up with an nfl player as your driver. miami dolphins' tackle aj francis, he won't start to get his nfl paycheck until next month so he's moon lighting as

scene with a flatbed truck but the cab is gone. no one was seriously injured. but that truck is on the shoulder. it's causing slow traffic. we can see the traffic on the altamont pass is going document pretty slow coming in and our skyfox is showing it to us. it's backed up all the way out to the tracy area and then some of that slow traffic that it was there behind that accident is now also behind schedule on the way into dublin. so quite a delay as you can see skyfox live showing it to us. if you drive this commute, please givee self extra time. let's go to other trouble spots. northbound 280, there was a crash blocking a couple of lanes, at least one of them and traffic is backed up deep into downtown san jose. i would recommend 101 or 85 slightly better than 280 at this point. at the bay bridge toll plaza, it is backed up. it's jammed. so definite lit no light traffic here. look at those clouds just as steve said, sunny for a little

bit but not even for that long. those clouds are beginning to come in. perfect transition to mr. steve paulson. a lot of those are low clouds. there will be a combination. the wind is picking up for some, especially around san francisco also into marin county. and parts of the bay. angela king having pretty brisk wind right now through tiburon and george mccray said wow, we had a gust of 27 miles per hour. chloe in clearlake, 65. clouds are starting to increase from blanca. tricky high temp today. that's the understatement of the day. 89 to 99. that's -- i would say probably split that. the higher clouds are associated with blanca and they are moving fast. so we'll have sun in the morning but we'll cloud it up very fast taking the turn. zoom past bakersfield on their way to fresno. another cell is kind of

clipping us around the eastern edge of that. 500 lightning strikes between 4:00 and 5:00 a.m. it's veering off into the pacific. however, the cloud cover is streaming north warkd and we'll start move over -- northward and we'll start to move over. as george mccray in el cerrito makes, that's true. high yesterday wasle 8. currently 54 with fog and a west-southwest wind at 9. now gusting to 27 miles an hour. coast and bay, the fog is starting to ramp up. we're starting to get the delta breeze, not kicking in quite yet. i think we'll see gusts to 25, 30. west at sfo, northwest, northwest, northwest, signed of things to come. combination of the two. high clouds with the rain in southern california. that's moving toward us and also the cloud cover will give us -- it's a tough call on these temperatures today. i went 80s and 90s. watch what happens. by 1:00, we start to cloud it up. we say that way through 5:00, 6:00. tonight, overnight, north bay some light rain begins to show

hospitals charge patients three times more than the amount medicare is willing to pay. the study in health affairs journal says most states don't limit what hospitals can charge for the services. that makes it easy for hospitals to set what the journal calls excessive rape. some for profit hospitals criticize the study and says it does not take into dollars in charity care. 7:26. well, this afternoon, marin county residents can voice their opinions about potential medical marijuana dispensaries. a proposed ordinance would allow up to three dispenries an unincorporated areas of the county in three different zones in the north, south and western parts of the county. right now, there are none in the county. marin county supervisors will meet at 1:30 this afternoon. they will be at the civic center in san rafael for the first public discussion of this idea. 7:26. game three of the nba finals is

i've already dropped temperatures for the coast. not the delta breeze but i expect it tic ma it over san pablo way. it is howling now from sausalito to el cerrito. it's on its way. san jose, there is the calm. i keep looking to see if they update that but i know there's very strong gusts around campbell and parts of san jose. thank you for the information. l.a. getting rain. this is moving in our direction. we'll go cloudy here really fast. the temperatures are dependent on that cloud cover. some of these may not hit the 90s. it's going that quick. but it will be muggy, humid today. possible showers, thunderstorms later overnight into tomorrow. the fog, sun, clouds and windy. all in about 12 hours. this has deteriorated. some of these highs may not reach it due to the cloud cover. 50s 60s, 70s. things are changing. i mean, roaring breeze from the golden gate over towards golden gate fields. >> it will be interesting wx.

capitol expressway up to mountain view. the best thing you can do, put off your trip. i know that's not an option for a lot of people. finally, we have some earlier pictures from skyfox of westbound 580 coming up on this big rig fire that was at grant line road. the truck was on fire. it was completely destroyed. no one was seriously injured but the damage is done to the commute coming in from tracy over the hill and 580 is going to be pretty slow this morning as a result. that traffic transferred over to 580 in livermore and dublin. it's heavy on the way over to castro valley. 7:34. back to the desk. >> all right, sal. thank you. new very serious problems at the nation's airports for the transportation security administration. a disturbing new report shows dozens of people on the terror watch list. they were hired for airport jobs across the u.s. even though they went through tsa employment screening. paul chambers joining us live

at sfo. are people asking whether it's safe to fly? >> reporter: that's the question we did ask people. most people say they don't have any issues. they feel safe because there hadn't been any major issue for a while. as we speak, there is a hearing going on in capitol hill. the homeland security committee with the senate. they are asking the tsa about their recent problems they had and the ability to keep travelers safe. >> lack of information sharing inside the government is a lot of what led to 911 being possible. today we still have a lot of those problems. >> reporter: the federal agency failed to identify 73 airport workers who may be associated with terrorists according to an audit released yesterday. the report states the tsa does not have access to all terror watch lists information it needs to make proper judgment. the agency checked airline and airport applicants and workers against the department of homeland security watch list that reported ily isn't as

comprehessive as the government's database. the people in question were able to get clear tans giving them access to secure airports allowing them to work for major airports, airlines, vendors and other employers. this current issue is the latest problem from the tsa last week. report showed undercover agents had a 95% success rate of sneaking bombs and other things past security. very disturbing to federal leaders. >> have to do a better job. have to be more careful. fortunately, we've been lucky. they didn't let anybody through that was really dangerous. but it was a good test. >> reporter: the tsa says it will address the screening issues by the end of the year. and it's working to ensure it has access to all necessary terrorism watch lists. that hearing on capitol hill will go on for the next two and a half hours. we'll monitor it and bring you the latest. dave? >> thank you.

we'll talk to you later. the nba finals are shifting to cleveland tonight as the warriors try to bounce back from a disappointing overtime loss in game two. during the entire playoffs we've been seeing those strength in numbers t-shirts but today the warriors are sporting a new logo, joe fonzi is live in cleveland joining us now. good morning, how is it going there? >> reporter: good morning, tori. it's -- i don't know that the warriors have a new logo but we'll see a new logo today. serious contrast between this part of the world and the bay area. behind me is a pretty famous part of cleveland. this is the river that very infamously caught on fire in the 1960s and was one of the main things that spurred the environmental movement in this country. so this is a rust belt city very hungry for something positive to happen. this is an area that has not won a major sports championship

since the 1964 cleveland browns led by jim brown. since that time, the bay area has had 15 major sports championships. two by the raiders, four by the as, one by the warriors. three by the giants, and five by the 49ers. this is a part of the world that's very hungry for something positive to get excited about it. and the cavaliers are providing that. we've seen the yellow shirts strength in numbers at the oakland col low coliseum. we also saw a lot of gold shirts here today. what they are calling it here is all in. different logo, same color. expect to see that in the arena. we talked to folks about what a successful cavaliers team means to this part of the world. >> everyone is ecstatic. everyone in my office. everyone is wearing cavs jerseys. >> i think lebron james is the greatest. he keeps carrying them on. >> you took a big step. when we win the championship there's still games to win.

>> that's okay. >> i think we're all in. >> reporter: were you worried when you found out about kyrie and love is out? >> we were worried when we sakairy with the injury and thought oh, no. >> reporter: what would that mean for the city to win a championship? >> it would be incredible. i think the think that's hard, we've always been a good team. for us to be on top, that would be amazing. >> reporter: it's hard to invest your emotion. the folks here are maybe guardedly doing that. but lebron james gives them hope. he's the local guy who came home. we saw what he did in game 2 almost singlehandedly willing his team to a win. in about an hour tale talk -- hour we'll talk more.

joe fonzi, back to you guys. >> i heard you had an interesting trip out to ohio. can you tell us about that? >> reporter: yes, i can. we were scheduled to have a two- hour lay over in chicago and get here at a decent hour last night. there were heavy thunderstorms throughout the midwest yesterday and we kept -- that's one of those things where you look at the board, flight delayed one hour, flight delayed two hours. we ended up six hours and got in at 3:00. we've had some sleep but very little sleep. we are at the nba championships. if you are gonna complain about that. we're getting by on whatever sleep we needed and we're looking forward to the game tonight. >> hopefully a little bit of coffee. thank you, joe. it is 7:40 with the nba finals moving over to cleveland for two games, we wanted to take a difference in the similarities between oakland and cleveland. the population was at 406,000 in the 2013 census.

cleveland's was at 390,000. oakland has lake merritt which is the nation's largest body of saltwater within city limits. i didn't know that. cleveland is located on lake erie, you one of the -- one of the five great lakes. oakland has thele oakland -- has the oakland museum of california and the that bespace and see -- and the chabot space and science center. the city's orchestra is also one of the highly acclaimed city orchestras. boekd and cleveland are three -- oakland and cleveland are three-sport cities. they have gone a long time without a title. cleveland has waited 51 years. i city won its last title in 1964 when the browns won the

nfl championship, dave. that was two years before the first super bowl was held. >> wow. good fans. >> all right. 7:41. happening today, santa clara county supervisors could vote on a plan to get really tough on people who set off or even have illegal fireworks. janine de la vega joining us live now in san jose. you've been talking to pipe about this idea -- to people about this idea as we get closer to the 4th of july. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. so far, i haven't found somebody who has admitted to setting off illegal fire works. we're told that that last year, at least four people were injured by illegal fireworks. those county officials are looking to hold a property -- the property owners responsible for discharging them. under the new rules that are being proposed property owners who are unaware or not present when they are being discharged would be sent a warning letter. but those who are aware could

be fined $350 for the first violation $700 for the second and $1,000 for the third violation. this ordinance applies to unincorporated parts of santa clara county. so that's under the territory of the sheriff's office and the county fire. they would respond and enforce this when they get a complaint call. we asked residents what their thoughts were. >> i absolutely support it. we're in a drought. the thing is everything is so much drier one spark, it won't just affect your house. it will set your neighbor's house on fire. other times of property damage, injuries. it's not something people should be playing with. >> reporter: supervisors will vote on the new ordinance whether there are enough firefighters and deputies to enforce it. that's another issue. but the board president hopes it acts as a deterrent and makes feel think twice before setting them off. they would rather have people go and watch the public fireworks displays and dave, there is a big one being held

vacation rentals are a hot topic in many cities, especially where rents are high like in san francisco. housing advocates have been protesting but they are not the only game in town the we did a quick check of the other sites including freeway key and home way and there are at least 3,000 homes or apartments listed as vacation rentals in the city right now. >> 23% of our rentals are off the market being rented to tourists rather than the tenants who so need them in the housing crisis right now.

developing news out of los angeles where you can see a hume fire burning right now. this is happening at a business in the south los angeles area. we just learned it started with a tractor-trailer that caught fire and spread. we'll continue to follow this story and bring you more details as soon as they become available. the supreme court rejetted a challenge from the nra over two san francisco gun laws.

one gun laws requires keeping weapons inside a gun locker at home or put trigger locks on them. the other law bans the point of hollow bullets that expand on impact. they cause more damage to whatever they hit. san francisco's law said the bullets have no sporting purpose. but advocates have argued both of the measures infringe on constitutional rights. california teachers' pension fund no longer has any invest in remington outdoor. that company made an assault weapon used in the shooting at sandy hook elementary in connecticut three years ago. in that shooting, 20 children and seven adults died. the pension fund is the second largest in the world. all right. several suspicious car fires at a dealership in novatole we're live with a -- novato. we're live with a look at the damage and what witnesses says they heard just before seeing the flames.

getting gusts to 30 miles an hour. we'll go cloudy and possibility of rain. cooler, much cooler. good 25-degree drop for some. morning fog. some sun for a while. downright windy for some. maybe not as hot. could be muggy well inland. by the coast and bay it will be significantly cooler. temperatures are almost impossible to forecast here with so much cloud cover. a lot going on here in a very short period of time. >> we have a lot of slow traffic still, steve. good morning. right now we're looking at the bay bridge toll plaza because it continues to be slow. there has been some improvement but i always look at the ramp from 880 westbound 80. it's very crowded. that means a slowdown is likely to continue at least for the next 30, 40 minutes as that clears out. at the san mateo bridge, we also had some earlier slow traffic. it seems to be moving better. dumbarton bridge traffic is slow. we had a stalled vehicle on that span. 237 is getting into the action with slowing into the valley.

i do want to mention that 101 and 280 and 85 are all very slow. we had an earlier accident 280 at saratoga. 880 is no picnic. it's backed up from 238. just because we haven't had a lot of major accidents, people think we are forgetting about the commute, but no, it's slow all the way down to stevenson. stop-and-go traffic. back to the desk. an investigation is underway in novato after several cars were set on fire overnight. tara moriarty is live at the chevy dealership off redwood bld with more on why -- boulevard with more on why firefighters are calling it suspicious. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. we were able to speak to people who work here at this chevrolet. they are in disbelief that this particular dealership was targeted. they say it's such a safe area. you can see that the cars were badly damaged. this one -- the heat got so intense from the fire that the tires were melted off the car.

neighbors heard explosions and saw flames around 11:30. they called 911. when crews arrived, two chevies were fully engulfed and two more were catching fire. arson investigators were towed in. they towed away one of the cars. we asked one of the managers if he ever thought an arsonist would target the car lot. >> here, no. in a bad neighborhood, no. this is a good neighborhood. normally nothing happens in novato. what a waste. damage four cars for what? if you steal it, you have gained something. burning it, nobody gains. >> reporter: all four cars were the hybrid volts worth $40,000. $1 of 0,000 worth of damage. arson investigators will have to piece together who was responsible for setting them on fire. live from novato, back to you. >> thank you can we talk

a yellow car. joe fon joe fonzi is in cleveland. he will have a report at 8:30. happening da, san francisco's board of supervisors is schedule to vote on whether to require health warnings on suge yarry drinks. the ordinance would rewarnings on -- sugary drinks. the ordinance would require warnings. it would not allow city money to be used if buying the drinks. if approved, the rules go into effect next year. this would help educate people about a health risk, they say. san jose firefighters will soon get a pay raise under a tentative new deal with the city. the three-year contract includes an almost 15% pay raise. if approved, it would be the first pay raise for the firefighters' union in seven years. firefighters are expected to vote on the tentative deal later this month.

there is still a heavy police presence in the northeast corner of new york this morning as police continue to search for two escaped killers who broke out of a prison there four days ago. police are checking vehicles at several checkpoints near the canadian border. andrew cuomo went to the prison yesterday to see how the two inmates likely escaped. investigators are questioning a female prison employee who tailored clothing at the prison. >> we're looking at the private contractors and some of the civilian employees to see if they were the supplying the equipment that these people needed to do it because they obviously had to have assistance. >> sources say the female employee being questioned is a possible accomplice knows the

inmates "very well." $100,000 reward sebeing offered -- is being offered. authorities have received more than 300 leads so far. there is a growing call for a white texas police officer to be fired after he was caught on camera kneeling on a 15-year- old african-american girl and pointing his gun at other teenagers. now, hundreds of people lal littled last -- rallied in mckinney. they believe the officer went too far on friday when he arrived at a pool party where several fifes had been -- fights had been reported. demonstrators say the officer's actions were extreme. they also claim race was a factor. the officer is on administrative leave. the last man known in the angola three is days away from walking out of a louisiana prison after 43 years a federal

judge has released the release of him. he was convicted of killing a prison guard in 1992 while serving a sentence for armed robbery. the judge said woodfox, who is now 68 years old, received ineffective counsel. the judge also noted that the cheat stated at the trial to get a conviction. woodfox has always said he was innocent and imly -- implicated in the murder because he helped organize the black panther party. dennis hastert is scheduled to appear in court in chicago for the first time since he was indiented for allegedly agreeing to pay $300 million in hush money. he will enter a charge that he broke banking laws and lied to the fbi. it indictment does not say what

he's being held on $00,000 bail. 8:23. a customer at a subway restaurant in concord being praised for helping to prevent a robbery. police say the customer at the store on solano way heard the suspect demanding money and actually tried to detain the man. police arrived right after the customer struggled with that suspect. the police arrested him as he came out of the store. they say he was armed with a screw driver. they also say that customer was scraped up a little bit but otherwise was okay. marin county residents can voice their opinions this afternoon about possible medical marijuana dispensaries. a proposed ordinance would allow up to three dispensaries to open in the county in three different zones. in the north, the south and western parts of the county. now, the marin ij is reporting the sheriff's department and some police agencies they are off posing this plan. marin county supervisors will meet at 1:30 this afternoon. they will be at the civic

tsa's employment screening. paul chambers joining us live at sfo so what do you hear from people? what are they saying? >> reporter: most people feel safe on my twitter, at least they were telling me that. not because of the tsa. we're one hour into the hearing going on on capitol hill where the tsa members are talking about how they keep travelers safe. >> i think it's worth being concerned about just because there is -- there's safety issues and personal, like, you know, privacy issues. >> reporter: the federal agency failed to identify 73 airport workers who may be associated with terrorism. according to a 30-plus page audit release. the tsas to not have access to all terror watch lists information it need to make proper just. the agency checks airline and airport applicants and workers against the d of homeland security watch list that

reportedly isn't as comprehensive as the database. >> the lack of sharing information inside the government is a lot of what led to 9/11 being possible. today we still have a lot of those problems. >> thank god they were own our own team going through and not terrorists. this is alarming. >> reporter: now, the tsa says it will address the screening issues by the end of the year. it's working to ensure it has all necessary to terror watch list information. the course, tsa had issued with letting people get fake bombs through. the senators said this hadn't been a major issue and we haven't had any major terror attacks at this time. dave? >> thank you. using technology to crack down on possible water wasters, one bay area water agency is encouraging people to snitch on people using your smartphone. the placer county agency is trying to spread the word about

clara county. he's hoping these new proposed rules will help deter people from doing that. now, the board of supervisors is scheduled to vote today whether to adoptant ordinance that penalizes people who store ardischarge -- or discharge fireworks in the unincorporated part of the county. they would be sent a warning letter. those who are home, the responsible parties that could be the homeowners, tenants or guests could be fined $315 for the first violation $700 for the second and $1,000 for the third. we spoke with a resident who told us she often hears them in her neighborhood. so she supports the proposal. >> especially in the middle of the night and you are trying to sleep and you hear what you think are gunshots. it's actually fireworks. can you imagine waking up in the morning and finding your house on fire? it's dangerous. >> reporter: recent lit the u.s. fire administration
