7:22 am
up in lake county, had .10. this will continue through most of the day. it is really warm out. as you might imagine, the cloud cover because it's tropical in nature is going to keep us in a very muggy humid pattern. i doubt there's much sun but if there's any sun it will feel extremely tropical like. there is dry air coming in. i think we're in the mix for most of the day for cloudy, mostly cloudy. humid conditions, rain. then a possibility of more thunderstorms this afternoon. we need a few breaks in the clouds. it's certainly possible. i had a couple of reports of some sun up forward fort bragg. it will be cloudy here. 60s, 70s and 80s. temperatures held down by the cloud cover probably linger into thursday morning. by then the low will be visiting las vegas hanging out at the pool. it will be a long way from us. >> how did you say las vegas? >> las vegas. >> elvis. >> hot and then a cooling trend that goes through most of next

whether i'm making shots or not, i have to stay -- i use the word vibrant, kind of having fun out there because i think the team definitely feeds off my energy. >> have a little more fun when you are winning. cleveland now leads the nba finals as the warriors trail 2- 1. we're live in cleveland this morning where ktvu fox 2's joe fonzi has been following all of the action right now at the rock n' roll hall of fame. coming up in minutes we'll talk to him live.
7:32 am
not sure what that guy is doing in the hall of fame. but we'll find out. good morning. welcome back to "mornings on 2." i'm tori campbell. let's czech weather and traffic -- check weather and traffic. some of the rain has been really impressive for june. it continues to come down. other areas get a couple of 1/100ths. north napa, 17/100ths. hayward is here twice. one is the hayward hills. 14/100ths. pacifica 13. that's from glen. livermore .09, hayward proper .08. the rain continues to rotate around a low southwest of us. two enhancements. one fought north favoring napa over to petaluma and then down to marin county. one that's been hanging out from livermore to hayward right to daly city and south san francisco. some of it has been moderate to heavy. pretty good rain, steady rain, daly city, peninsula, parts of the pacific right over to
7:33 am
payview, pretty good rain there. castro valley. the next ban row nateing down from napa -- rotating down from napa. it looks to be on the back side on some of this to the north. we've had .10 plus into lake county as well. some of this rain will continue to rotate in. most of the day looks like cloudy skies. very mild temperatures. 60s on the these temperatures. the low will be with us. there it is. it's going to take the turn and head into central california tonight and tomorrow. in the meantime, it rotates into a lot of cloud cover and the possibility of showers. very mug you go humid. it's rain here this morning. 60s, 70s and 80s. with the rain comes a lot of problems. sure does. and yesterday i was explaining to someonele who had never been to new york what it is like to stand on a subway platform in august in new york city. it's like the weather we're having now. humid and kind of wet. right now, the traffic is doing just okay if you are driving on
7:34 am
280. it's dry here. humid and slow traffic getting up into the west valley. we haven't had a lot of problems today. a lot of people on the road at once. we do have a lot of slow traffic in the east bay trying to get to this area of the south bay. 880 is slow from 238 heading down to fremont and then 237 is going to be slow as you drive over to 101. look at 101. 101 is solid from capitol expressway up to mountain view. we have slow traffic on 101 southbound as well through menlo park. let's go back to the bay bridge toll plaza which is slow. by the way, 80 is slow from vallejo all the way down to the toll plaza and 37 is a mess in vallejo in both directions because of earlier issues. 7:34. back to the desk. >> thank you, sal. the golden state warriors have a day off today after a tough loss to the cavaliers in game 3 of the nba finals. joe fon joe fonzi joins us live from cleveland to talk basketball and a little music and the warriors need to dance
7:35 am
to a different tune, joe. >> reporter: that's good. they absolutely do. we've been salvaging our injuries. what better way than here in it's come alive since we were last year. you have the michael jackson in the background. we're in the area of michael jackson. you can see his glove there. an outfit he wore when he was performing. several other outfits. what would the rock n' roll hall of fame be without james brown? there is he, one of the original inductees into the original class. the hall has been here -- this is the 20th year. they are celebrating their 20th year of existence in cleveland but the hall has been around for 30 years before they got that. they've had 10 million visitors here. i believe i said 10,000 last time.
7:36 am
10million visitors here in this rock n' roll hall of fame. the supremes once performed on ed sullivan. they didn't perform in colored european forms like -- uniforms like i see here. i probably saw them on black and white on tv. last night was disastrous third quarter for the warriors. at one point they were behind 20 months. months. lebron james had a monster game. steph curry was very un-steph curry like in the third. in the fourth, he got hit. at the end of the first half only had three points on one of six shooting from the field. but he heated it up in a way that only steph curry can in the fourth quarter and several times the warriors got it down to where it was a one possession game and had a
7:37 am
chance to take the lead but they were unable to do that and again, it was lebron james that had a big hand in it seemingly every time it happened. once he took a loft from matthew dellavedova, jammed into the hoop that put cleveland out of a one- possession situation. a little bit later, it was dellavedova himself who put in a very tough basket with steph curry trying to foul him. that went to a four-point deficit as dellavedova completed the three-point play. these are things that the warriors will have to concern themselves with as they qual behind in the series -- as they fall behind in the series of. >> no excuse for three quarters -- i think we were playing hard and were into it but there are no results to show for it. especially on the road we have to just play free, have fun and
7:38 am
be the aggressors if we're gonna win this series. >> in order for us to win, we have to defend and my guys do a great job defending. we don't step outside of the box. when you have that type of chemistry on the floor, it makes everything work. >> reporter: i talked about the supremes a minute ago. i did want to show it to you. as we come back over here, we'll show you some of the other parts of the hall. this a small part of it. here is "the who." here is an extreme funk around -- funk and deltic. you can hear the strains of the beach boys. that's not a northern california group. i know that. it's a southern california group. but we wanted to bring you the california sound to go out with here in hopes that maybe the warriors can figure out a way to develop good vibrations as
7:39 am
they go into that game, game 4 tomorrow. if they can get a split here in cleveland, they would be happy to tie it up. but they very much need to do that. they are practicing today. mark ibanez later will have the highlights of this practices but until then, reporting live from the hall hall of fame. we have one more hit coming up in about an hour. the >> thank you, joe. as joe mentioned, game 4 is tomorrow, also in cleveland, the teams head back to oakland for game 5 on sunday. if necessary, game 6 would be back in cleveland on tuesday and then game would be in oakland on friday night june 19th. >> always good to see joe. police in novato, they have released new surveillance video, they want you to see of

7:41 am
buy tobacco products in stores that are located in unincorporated santa clara county like this 7-eleven. but they can go across the street in the city of san jose and buy as long as they are 18. the manager here says that's gonna hurt business. the board unanimously passed the ordinance which raises the legal age limit to buy products from 18 to 21. the decision was prompted by health concerns. a recent study by the institute of medicine showed increasing the illegal purchasing age would decrease smoking dealts by 10%. we spoke to one teen who smokes to get his thoughts. >> i think it's good for the people that do smoke a lot of cigarettes because that will keep them from being able to buy it at a younger age. less people would get addicted to like tobacco and stuff. >> reporter: the ordinance goes into effect january 1st of next year and does not apply to
7:42 am
incorporated cities within the county. retailers will be required to ask for identification from the buyers before selling cigarettes or any other products containing tobacco. they've also got to post signs notifying customers at displaying the new age limit there. from customers we talked to they said it's a good thing they are wondering how effective it will be just because teens can still ask their older friends to buy for them. you know, we'll have to see what happens. >> kind of -- that can happen with alcohol also. >> sure. 7:42. san francisco supervisors they gave first approval to some. nation's toughest laws regular lating sugary drinks. san francisco is a big step kleeser to being the nation's first city to require warning labels on soft drink ads to warn consumers that the amount of sugar in sodas it contributes to obesity, diabetes and tooth decay. it's similar to warning labels receipt choired across the nation to on -- required across

7:44 am
more than 2300 grams of sodium. that's a teaspoon of salt which is the recommended amount we should consoul in one day. the cdc says too much sodium can raise blood pressure and that can be a major risk factor in heart disease and stroke. the requirement would only apply to chain restaurants. the health department estimates the symbols would be placed next to about 10% of menu items. the ntsb says the amtrak engineer was not using his cell phone just before the derailment in philadelphia last month. that crash killed eight people and injured more than 200. investigators say they studied the cell phone records of 32- year-old brandon bost yan. he suffered a -- boston. he suffered a concussion and says he cannot remember anything about the traffic. the train traveled twice the speed of 50-mile-an-hour, the
