they are mainly coast and parts of the bay. not so much inland. the lows are cooler. 60s for some. 50s for others. it won't take long to start warming up. we will rebound after that fog heads back to the coast. 70s, 80s, a few 90s inland. we will have warmer highs. 80s and 90s for some inland. some areas jumping up well inland to upper 80s by the coast and bay. sal, frank just e-mailed me. a quarter inch of rain. i see. it's raining hard there. even at matuch i's which is an establishment on one of the main streets, i have heard about it. >> yes. legendary place. let's look at what we have now. traffic is moving along pretty well in some areas and not so well in others. let's sort it out. 680 is getting slow all of a sudden. we have a backup from concord to walnut creek. 80 westbound is going to be slow. and we have a crash westbound

7:04 am
fence. we are here at the scene, which you can see is blocked off still at this hour. crime scene technicians were busy photographing evidence and laying out markers showing the trail of blood. now, that trail of blood is from one of the suspects. police say he accidentally shot himself in the leg during this street robbery. around 3:00 this morning officers tell ktvu that at least two men, possibly a third, approached another man on valencia street and 23rd. they threatened him with a gun, steal his wallet, cell phone and other personal items. then police, they happened to be patrolling at the time. >> they actually saw the guys running, the suspects running and they were able to use their police intuition, if you will, lack of a better description, and they apprehended the suspects. >> reporter: the victim was not harmed. the suspect with the gunshot wound is being treated at san francisco general hospital. and police are conducting interviews to figure out if there is, indeed, a third

suspect and where he might be. live from san francisco, i am tara moriarty, back to you. >> thank you, tara. time is 7:04. an act of vandalism at a danville memorial, its sparking outrage in that community. ktvu fox 2's alex savidge live in danville to show us that damage. good morning, alex. >> reporter: good morning to you. this war memorial is tucked away here in the back of oak hill park. and let me show you what's been done. crews have done what they can to scrub off some of the paint left behind over the weekend. this according to police was the work of vandals and police right now are hoping that surveillance video can help them identify the people who did this. as we push off into the distance there you can probably see there is a camera right above the walking path that leads to this memorial. let me show you there is another camera at entrance to the park as well. when i walked in underneath
7:06 am
this camera it snapped my photo and issued a verbal warning about committing acts of vandalism here. there were four spots where this memorial was painted over the weekend. if one case they made reference to an anti-government website. they also wrote the phrase "let's get high " one of the men who helped create the memorial 20 years ago calls this act of vandalism despicable. >> if you have a bone to pick with the united states government about its policy, protest. you have the right to do that. but when you disrespect the men an women who defend this country every single minute of the day, i have a huge problem with that. >> reporter: investigators believe the vandals were here at the memorial sometime on sunday night. so police are now reviewing surveillance video from the park trying to see if it will offer any clues and maybe help to identify the people who were involved here. at the same time the town of danville and also some private donors, they have already put

up about $6,500 in reward money. that's being offered for any information that can lead to an arrest in this case. as you can see, taped on the flag pole here at this memorial there is a sign that has been put so the public, dave, knows about this act of vandalism that took place. to encourages people to come forward with any information they have. >> thank you. we will talk to you later. time now 7:07. new details from police in hayward about what they are calling the biggest marijuana bust in that history. 13,000 marijuana plants street value of $15 million was seized last thursday when a s.w.a.t. team raided a warehouse on diablo avenue near highway 972. the police haven't told us the exact location of the warehouse, but our news crew says it wasn't hard to find. they spotted a building where the outdoor security cameras were ripped off the wall mounts. a fence was smashed. there is a new padlock out there. and the smell of marijuana very intense around the building.

officials told him they can't do anything until he files his tax return. he says he can't do that until he receives some required forms, and that won't be happening until this fall. so he is worried now that by that time the trail of those i.d. thieves may be going cold. 7:25. what did you buy on your last trip to the grocery store? chances are it was not ingredients for cooking. grocery industry experts say shopping has changed dramatically over the last several decades. 4-years ago the top selling items were five pound bag of flower, mayonnaise and other cooking essentials. now it seems there is less time to cook. so according to the chronicle, prepared foods like rotisserie chicken and other packaged meals have taken the place of basic cooking ingredients. some grocers are devoting a huge amount of space in their stores to salad bars, hot food buffets, pizza and sushi stations and more. 7:26.

7:35 am
the warriors needing this one to get even at two games apiece. the post-season is very different from the regular season in a lot of ways. but probably the biggest way is the fact that during the regular season the most you ever see a team is four, five times if that team is in your own conference. the cavaliers are in the east. that means the warriors have seen them only twice this year. and they don't have the opportunity to see them night after night and have to make adjustments. that's what you have to do when you get into the post-season. this will be the fourth straight night that these two teams have seen each other. not night, but fourth straight game. that means you have to make adjustments. what the cavs have done a very good job of doing so far is putting pressure on the warriors' outside scores. making it tough for klay thompson and tech to get their shots off. they are being constantly hounded. you look for other guys. what did they do? you look down low. andrew bogut. good defender.

7:37 am
warriors will try to do tonight to make it 2-2 and bring it back home. i was listening to the fans the other night. from the beginning the formula has been simple. the warriors won 67 games during the regular season. they need to win 16 more. now they are stuck on three more that they need. i was listening to fans saying we need two more. that's what it comes down to. the cavs need to win two more. the warriors need to win three more. they really need this one tonight to make that formula possible. with unmore -- one more later on. they are going to be counting on you. if you are loud in the bay area, that will be good. we will see you in an hour. >> joe, i will be in place. i will do my job and talk to you later. thanks a lot. joe fonzi in cleveland. >> don't forget tip-off game four 7:00 tonight. game five back at oracle arena sunday 5 p.m. if necessary, game six will be in cleveland on tuesday.

of growing trend in this area because normally it is pretty quiet, even though it's near a college. >> reporter: the coroner will examine the body for a cause of death. they are in the pros ses of reaching out to her relatives. until then we won't know if this was a student or a visitor or even the age of the person. this is the same parking lot where a murder-suicide took place several years ago. we did ask police if this was a homicide or if it appears the person voluntarily took their life. at this point all they confirmed is that this was a death investigation. but we are still waiting to hear back from them and hope to in the next hour. >> janine de la vega live in san jose. thank you. 7:40. four golfers were attacked and robbed at a course in pebble beach. police say the golfers were playing a round at the links at spanish bay when two men approached them and demanded money. there was a brief scuffle and one of the golfers suffered a small cut on the ear. police say the two suspects, an
