nothing major. if you're approached from 880 and you have to fast track, you're golden because there's not a big back up getting onto the span. looking at the rest of the east bay, this is my go-to spot. when i want to look for slow traffic, this is where i got. where are we going to find red. we're not seeing red. not even here in livermore. the led capital of the world it seems when it comes to slow traffic slowing on the pass, 7:03. let's go back to the desk. >> thank you sal. san francisco police released surveillance video of a violent gas station robbery in hopes of catching the two suspects. ktvu kerry is at the station and spoke to another clerk scheduled to work that night and he told you the gunman made a mistake. >> that's right. carlos says one of the gunman moved to get a better shot because the cigarette display was blocking

his line to get to the clerk. when he did that to get a better shot, he stumbled near the lottery machine and it was the extra seconds that allowed carlos to get out alive. >> [shots]. >> this video shows two men shooting at the clerk on may 19 it 2:40 at the gas station on 8th and harrison. they just robbed the safe and chased after the clerk firing four to five shots. jiminez says he usually works this shift alone, but switched swifts at the last minute. >> what if the guys come back, i don't know. >> fortunately the bullets missed the clerk. they drove off with a possible third person in side. both men described as

information we have about the victim. good morning jenin. >>reporter: the scene is clear there and c hp officers are working onto figure out what caused the driver to crash and who the victim was. now, they're telling us that this happened just after 2:00 a.m. a driver crashed head onto a tree. it was on the shoulder. passing motorist saw smoking flames. crews weren't able to rescue the person. the impact was so bad the engine was pushed into the victim. witnesses did not stay on scene and the only occupant in the car is dead, it's unknown if they fell asleep or if speed played a role.

it's 7:35. a cleveland prosecutor will let a grand jury decide whether to indict two white police officers for the shooting death of a young african american boy carrying a bb gun. 12-year-old rice was gunned down outside a rec center in his neighborhood last november. the two officers were responding to a 911 call about a man waiving a gun. footage from surveillance camera shows the boy reaching for the pellet gun in his waste band when one of the officers shot him twice. >> i don't think that they're terrible men. they may regret what they did. maybe they didn't do it on purpose, but they did it. when you make mistakes like that, you have to be accountable. >> this case has led to protest in cleveland and questions about police use of force. time is running out for those living in a red wood city apartment building who was told they have to get out of their homes by the end of the month.

had a hand gun on the seat next to him. police say they tried to wake him several time and officers broke a window which led to a confrontation and a shooting. he died at the hospital and tonight's vigil at 6:00 p.m. on lake shore avenue. this was oakland's first deadly officer-involved shooting in more than two years. a funeral is being held for a 16-year-old girl from clover dale high school. had he body was found -- her body was found near the russian bank bridge. they believe she was thrown -- one of the cars crashed into the area where she was standing. her body found 8 hours later. police are still investigating why no one searched for her after the collision. the time is 7:41. two good samaritans being praised by the chp police for saving a woman driving the wrong way on a

if you want to look for slow traffic in san jose, you can find it on highway 101. as you come up to the express way you have slow traffic. northbound 101 northbound 101 and a little in sunniville and a little in mount view. that's all. people out there saying, i'll take it. moving to the east bay. southbound 680 slowing in pleasant hill and slow in richmond. you're seeing lighter commutes. i promised you a look at the bay bridge. it's backed up a little bit. but it's clearing up in the 8:00 hour. it's 8:02. let's go back to the desk. thank you sal. police released surveillance video of a violent store robbery. they're accused of robbing the shell gas station, but they were caught on camera trying to gun down the

store's clerk. tara spoke with the clerk. >> carlos says he couldn't sleep for a week because he was worried these robbers might come back to the gas station because they hadn't been caught. he normally works the graveyard shift alone but swapped shifts at the last minute and says his coworker is lucky to be alive and so is he. this surveillance video shows these men shooting at the clerk at 2:00 in the morning. they robbed the safe and they began to chase clerk firing four to five shots. jimenez says his friend working was lucky to get out. >> when the younger one was pointing the gun at the man there wasn't a clear shot because there was the cigarette display. he tripped over the ice cream bar machine and lotto.

other motorist who stopped could not get to the driver. the chp says the victim died on impact. it's unknown what caused that person to travel off the shoulders. officers are looking into whether speed played a factor or if the person fell asleep. there were several lanes of traffic closed while they investigated but everything is open. the coroner will work on identifying the victim. the vehicle had washington license plates and it was carrying luggage in the back. reporting from san jose, janine de la vega fox 2 news. police in palo alto want your help. they're trying to solve the case of a college student killed 14 years ago. 20-year-old maria was with her friends when hit by a stray bullet. she was in front of a nightclub on alma street. despite witnesses, police have no suspects.
