47 santa rosa. 58 concord. 56 san jose. 52 san rafael. west-southwest, 14. a little stronger than yesterday. not much but enough to mention it here. the higher cloud from the hawaiian islands. partly sunny, partly cloudy here to mostly sunny and temperatures inland, they are running a little bit above. coast and bay below. morning fog, fair, don't use that world too often. that's some. higher clouds. hot well enough inland. 60s, 70s, 80s to 90s. sal, quiet or something happened? we have a crash southbound 880 at 92. it's blocking a lane. the traffic all of a sudden, which hadn't been that bad is beginning to slow down. again, southbound 880 at the 92 interchange right there. the traffic is going to be busy because it's blocking a lane. it's also slow after that heading to fremont but this is slower traffic before that crash. give yourself extra time. let's go to the san mateo bridge nearby. le the traffic -- the traffic

[ cheers ] >> yeah, they were celebrating, after 40 years. the warriors are, once again, nba champs. champagne was flowing and being cowed all over the -- doused all over the player. the locker room was covered in bubbly. we caught klay and andrew jumping for joy while spraying champagne all over themselves. warriors' fans have showed their pride. now they want to bask in the team's glory by wearing the newest gear that sports the title nba champs. i happen to have a t-shirt. this is -- it's a little small for me. it says nba champs. a lot of people in line trying

to get some of that gear. janine de la vega is live at a sporting goods store in union city. we just saw the doors open right at the top of the show. is it pretty crowded in there already, janine? >> reporter: it is. people are lined up inside this sports authority. a lot of them are waiting for this shirt. that's the locker room shirt. you can see they just started letting people line up. they are taking a look at the shirts. one of the things that's a very hot item is the locker room hat. they are actually sold out of them at this store. they are waiting for a delivery to get here. hopefully in the next hour. the store is expecting numerous deliveries throughout the day to get restocked. but they can't say when the drops will happen. here is video we shot in union city. got a look at one of the designs as they came off the presses. it says the finals champions

with the trophy. we're told they will crank out about 15,000 of them. fans started to arrive here early. here at sports authority, they started to line up at 5:00 a.m. >> i need to get some shirts. i tried to buy hats last night online. by the time i put in my card to pay for it, they were like sold out. i found it on the nba store. hopefully i will get it by friday, by the parade go i'm here to get the new 2015 championship shirt. hopefully i will find a little shirt for the toddler i have. i can't get too much. they all sold out. all of the fans are gone. hey, man, warriors. >> reporter: here is the official adidas locker room hat. the nba released this picture. it retails for $29.95. sports authority is expected to get more of those hats today.

this is andre's first nba title after 11 years in the league. he and lebron james were the only players to receive mvp votes for this series. a watch party at oracle arena turned into a victory celebration. 7:10. the search continues in oakland for a gunman who shot and injured -- a really disturbing story -- a 4-year-old girl. how a paint ball gun may be connected to the shooting. we continue to follow the investigation into that deadly balcony collapse. more on the memorial that continues to grow. we're looking at a commute that's going to be tough in some areas now, especially in the east bay, parts of the south bay pass we get the crowd coming in for the late morning commute. well, the fog is there. nothing unusual. but a lot of high clouds streaming in. slightly stronger delta breeze. we'll see what's in store for the wednesday temps.

the grief and mourning continues in berkeley at the site of that balcony chance. six young people were killed when this collapsed. the cause is still a mystery. five of the six students who died, they were from ireland. brian flores is in berkeley. you've been out there since early this morning. that close-knit irish community, they are really mourning. >> reporter: they certainly are. it's the parts' worst nightmare if you have older students studying overseas. but the focus of the investigation continues to be the condition of this balcony that collapsed early yesterday morning. you are taking a live look at it at this moment. they are gonna be particularly looking at the apartment's wood framing looking for evidence of dry rotting. investigators say it will take some time to figure out what happened. as you can see the area around harold way remains closed and that memorial continues to

grow. [bagpipes] >> reporter: this was the scene yesterday as bagpipes play as two wreaths were laid at the site of the deadly accident. there were 13 young people on that balcony celebrating at a birthday party when it broke off yesterday morning. naud to the six people killed seven others were injured in the fall. no word yet on their condition this morning. but from the bay area to ireland, the close-knit irish community is in shock and grief and reaction here in berkeley, simply heartbreak. >> it's a terrible tragedy. it's scary to think some of them could be -- some of my closest friends could be here. >> reporter: now, the consulate says relatives of those kill resident flying in from ireland. there are an estimated 700 students from that country

currently here in the bay area. about 100,000 students traveled from ireland elf -- travel from ireland to work and study in the u.s. one family lost two young women in the crash. ashley done knowhy and olivia burk of ire -- done na hoe and -- donaohe and olivia burk. as you can see the grief continues. several flowers there. candles. several messages left behind for the victims there. we understand several family nells making the 11-hour strip from ireland to here. we also understand the property owner as well as structural engineers will be taking a look again and figuring out exactly what happened on this balcony collapse. the remaining balconies at this apartment complex remain red- tagged. back to you. >> thank you.

7:16. a south bay bus driver is being honored for his part in the rescue of a toddler kidnapped from the milpitas library. vta bus driver tim watson received a standing ovation and award at last night's city council meeting. watson says he spotted the 3- year-old boy and the suspect on his bus after seeing a message from dispatchers on june 5th. he alerted police and slowly drove the bus to where officers could make an arrest. watson accepted the award on behalf of everyone involved. >> it was teamwork to get the boy home t was done within an hour and a half that. was remarkable -- hour and a half. that was remarkable. >> police arrested 23-year-old alfonzo ington who -- ington -- edington. really nice to see a real hero

there. i just tweeted out slight decrease in some of these inland temps. a few high cloud. a little bit more of an onshore breeze. the coast and bay staying below average on the temps. the lows are below. sfo should be 71 -- 71. san francisco, 67. 71 oakland airport and 74 hayward. slightly below. the inland temps have been running above but i think they come town slightly from yesterday's highs. a lot of high cloud favoring the north bay. 50s, 60s ansz upper 40. there are a few locations that are out of the gate in the mild to warm side. it will be in the upper 80s, 90s for some. yesterday was about 8 to 12 miles per hour. today it's west-southwest 17. i've been doing this for a long time. a little stronger oakland airport. a little more for napa. south of concord. that was not in place

of the federal reserve board will give us some insight on when a key interest rate could go up. federal reserve chair janet yellen and her colleagues will wrap up a two-day meeting around 11:00 our time this morning. shortly after she will go public about the decision- making process about the policy. a lot of economists think they will raise the rate in september if the u.s. economy keeps improving. for the last seven years, the fed has held its key short-term rate at a record low. here is another new federal report showing the national birth date, it's going up. the rate of births among women between the age of 15 and 44 it inched up 1% between 2013 and 2014. that's 53,000 more babies. the experts say the population increase cuts across all racial and ethnic groups. this is the first increase since the beginning of the

war fans will have a couple of days -- warriors fans will have a couple of days to get ready for the victory parade. that will be on friday morning. ktvu fox 2's tara moriarty joining us live in oakland. long-time fans have been waiting for this to come and it's finally here tara. >> reporter: exciting night we had last night. they will have to drag themselves out of bed. friday they will be playing hookie. now, last night a few fans actually tied up traffic in oakland. one man even climbed a traffic pole on telegraph avenue. police reported heavy congestion in east oakland. some revelers jumped on top of buses. but officers were out. they were visible. fanned out all over the city. no reports of serious damage or

vandalism. a lot of pumped up fans. >> i watched them win it. i was 14 years old. my grandfather took me to the game. it's just so awesome to see them tree -- retake that. >> reporter: now, in san francisco last night, fans launched bottle rockets and in the mission district large crowd gathered. no word of any arrests in san francisco or oakland. now, there is a parade planned for the nba champs on friday. i will be there with joe fonzi. this is the route highlighted with arrows. some streets will be closed thursday night. so be aware of that. fans can line up as early as 5:00 in the morning at lakeshore and 12th and b.a.r.t. and ac transit will be hoffering extra service into oakland -- oering extra service into oakland -- offering extra service into oakland. that would be a good idea to take that so you don't end up

in that traffic. 7:36. well, guess what. the cleveland cavaliers, according to some, are the favorites to win next year's nba title. yep. the west gate las vegas superbook made the cavaliers the early 9-4 favorites to be the champs. the warriors around the thunder are next according to them at 5- 1 odds. the l.a. clippers are 10-1 odds. according to the bookmakers, the san antonio spurs and bulls are 12-1 odds. riley curry spent most of game 6 sleeping on her mom's shoulder. she did get up just in time to celebrate her dad's big win. cameras captured this moment right after the game, a very excited steph curry rushed over to his family. that's steph's wife holding little riley. kind of backing away from her dad a little bit. steph's parents and sister are

owner of some popular east bay diners. the antioch herald reporting jeremy sturgel known as lumppy, he died. friends have set up a gofundme page. they want to help his widow and their two young sons. it's raised more than $21,000. the cause of the death was not immediately released. 7:39. new this morning, one man was killed. three others are hospitalized after their car slammed into a tree in oakland. it happened before 1:00 a.m. on 98th avenue near e street. the person who died was a passenger sitting in the front. the driver suffered critical injuries while two surviving passengers were taken to the hospital and are reported to be in stable condition. police have not yet connected the car to a sideshow but they say the crash occurred in an

area where the sideshows typically happen. two boys from san jose left home this week and never returned. in about 23 minutes, the reason police believe they may have headed to san francisco. the warriors are not the only winners. we are looking at the commute here. things are getting better in some areas. this would not be one of them. the san mateo bridge has slowed down to a crawl. we'll tell you what happened. our june gloom continuesen the coast. we have a little introduction of higher clouds coming up. we'll take a look at our wednesday forecast. oakland police are searching for a gunman who fired shots injured a 4-year- old girl. a sheriff's deputy drove her to the hospital. within minutes her distraught family arrived. it happened at 81st. police are still trying to determine exactly what happened but reportedly the girl and her father were in a silver suv when the father shot at someone with a paint ball gun. then we're told someone fired back with a real gun hitting the little girl in the chest. >> this is one of those incidents that it is upsetting and we should be upset about and do something about. i'm talking about the community. i'm talking about the city, the police department. >> the little girl is expected to recover. her father was taken into custody outside of the hospital but we don't know what charges

he may be facing. 7:43. a 16-year-old boy attacked by a shark that bit off his arm,well, he's talking from the hospital. hunter said he was in fairly shallow water at oak island, north carolina on sunday. he felt that shark bite him. he said his cousin helped pull him to shore. the teen from colorado springs since he intends to fight to live a normal life despite losing his dominant hand. >> i can try to live my life the way i was and make an effort to do that even though i don't have an arm or i can kind of let this be completely debilitating and bring my life down and ruin it in a way. >> boy, that same day a 12-year- old girl was attacked by a shark. she also lost part of her arm at the same beach. that was just 90 minutes earlier. her family released a statement there asking for privacy. happening today a report card on the conditions of

good morning. welcome back to "mornings on 2." it's 7:54. starting in august, it will be harder to drive down san francisco's busy market street. the transportation agency approved banning private vehicles from turning onto market between third and 8th streets. the mta says that area includes some -- four of the most dangerous intersections in san francisco. now, buses and taxis they will still be allowed. but not uber and lyft. violaters will be fined $238. take a look at this. this is a sharp new model. the new generation of muni light rail cars. they go into service in san

francisco boy the end of next year -- by the end of next year. mayor ed lee was out there yesterday checking thel out. muni -- them out. muni plans to add more than 200 light rail cars to the fleet. the cars, by the way, will fit 20 more people. they are also designed to carry bicycles. it's coming up on 7:55. in sacramento, governor brown reached a new budget agreement with state lawmakers. he appeared with leaders at a news conference yesterday to announce the latest budget compromise. it cuts $2 billion from the budget plan passed by lawmakers on monday and is more in line with the governor's original proposal. it includes money for preschool, child care and health insurance for children of undocumented immigrants. the legislature will have to vote again on the new budget deal followed by the governor's signature by a july 1st deadline. a republican lawmaker on

championship and then at 8:30, we'll have a prepreview of friday's big warriors' big victory parade and we'll take you live to cleveland. we'll talk to yofonzie about the -- joe fonzi about the keys to the warriors' can championship. one man was killed and three others are hospitalized after their car slammed. a tree in oakland. it happened on 98th and e street. the person who died was a passenger sitting in the front. the driver suffered critical injuries while two surviving passengers were taken to the hospital and are reported to be in stable condition. police have not yet connected to the car to a sideshow but they say the crash did occur in an area where sideshows typically happen. we're still following developing news from antioch. police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened shortly after midnight. two people, a man and a woman

were killed, another was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound. it happened near 18th street. investigators are asking people to call police if they saw or heard anything near that location this morning. we are also following the tragic he having story in berke -- developing story in berkeley at anapartment complex -- at an apartment complex downtown. brian flores has more. >> reporter: that investigation colts. certainly a lot of heartbreak from people who knew the victims and from the community. i'm gonna step aside. they brought the crane. they will be re-examining that balcony, that collapse as well as taking a look at the structural integrity of the balcony below it looking for any evidence of dry rotting, but investigators say it will take time before this investigation is complete. as you can see, the area

remains cordoned off and a memorial for the young victims continues to grow. [bagpipes] >> reporter: bagpipes played as the consul general of ireland and the mayor lay two wreaths. there were 13 people celebrating at a birthday party when this broke off yesterday morning. now, in addition to the six people killed, seven others were injured in the fall. we've not gotten an update on their conditions. but certainly from the bay area to ireland, the close-knit irish community is in shock and in grief. we have reaction from berkeley here this morning. it's just heartbreak. >> i never expected something like this to happen. even before me and my mom were walking past here and we were just like surprised and stuff. we were also wondering why there were only two balconies and stuff. even when i looked, i -- i didn't see any metal framing underneath.

it was like wood. >> she planned on going there next year to study. and it's such a shock for this to happen. i don't think -- i i mean, i will not allow her to go. i think, you know, she should have to the opportunity to go to ireland and pursue her studying. >> reporter: now, the consulate said relatives of those killed are flying in from ireland. there are an estimated 700 students from ireland currently here in the bay area. about 100,000 students travel from ireland every year to work and study here in the u.s. but tragedy for one family who lost two young women in the collapse. 2-year-old ashley donahoe and olivia burk of ireland were both killed. we spoke on the phone with george, ashley's father and olivia's uncle. he said it's the worst day of his life. he said his daughter ashley was a fine, vibrant woman and said he feels deeply for the families of the other victims.

this memorial continues to grow and people are continuing to lay down flowers. this couple about to leave their flowers here. but in the coming days, the property owner and the structural engineers will certainly be examining the fallen balcony as well as taking a look at the structure of the balcony below it. a lot of heartbreak continues in the city of berkeley. back to you. about 30 minutes before the balcony collapsed, berkeley police received a complaint about noise from the apartment. but officers did not respond because of another call minutes later of shots fired. police say that did not change the outcome. >> a noise complaint where there's no other information, the officers are not gonna go in and inspect the building and do a search. they are gonna be very friendly

an escaped tiger hiding in an abandoned factory killed a man and wounded another in the former soviet republic of georgia. we mentioned yesterday heavy flooding over the weekend damaged the zoo and allowed the animals to escape. at least one hippo was captured with a tranquilizer dart. earlier, officials believed all of the animals that escaped, including lions and tigers, have been accounted for. the tiger that went on the attack was killed by police. 8:26. well, back here at home, a south bay bus driver he's being honor fod her role in the rescue of a toddler kidnapped from the milpitas library. tim watson right there received a standing ovation and an award at the city council meeting last night. watson said he spotted the 3- year-old boy and the suspect on his bus after seeing a message from dispatchers. this was back on june 5th. he alerted police the he slowly drove the bus to where police officers could make an arrest.

welcome back. she's probably america's favorite little girl next to sal's little daughter. in this case we're talking about riley curry. she spent most of game 6 sleeping. but she did get up in time to help dad celebrate the big victory. i'm not quite awake but i'm here. the cameras captured this moment right after the game. a very excited steph curry rushed over to his family. had to go back on camera, though. steph's wife was there holding riley. his parents, sister. they were in the background, riley is only 2 but she did make her appearance with her dad on the podium for the trophy presentpation and was -- presentation and was wearing an oversized championship t-shirt. she didn't appear at the postgame news conference. everyone was expecting to see her. this was kind of good enough.
